  1. Anyone had any experience of KW coilovers?
  2. Beige all the way for me having had black before! It's also good as the headlining is a light beige as well so it all matches. I think the black bits (handbrake, gearknob etc) actually break it up a bit and give nice contrast
  3. I've just replaced the outer bolster on the drivers seat with the help of Kev's 'how to' guide - thanks Kev! I've also replaced the rusty screws for the headlights, the bonnet stay rod, roof strips and auxillary water pump. I've also fitted my lovely new Autostyle mats - beige with blue trim, they look fab!
  4. Thanks, just got to get some nice wheels now! BBS RX2 or RK2 are favourite at the mo. I've just ordered some floor mats as well in beige with blue piping. I saw a Corrado years ago with beige Recaro interior with floor mats like these and it looked amazing. I'll post more pics when they are here.
  5. I'm going to upgrade the suspension simply because i want to lower it. I don't really want a hard ride - any thoughts on keeping original shocks with lowered springs? Also want some new wheels, I think BBS make it look original. Also wondering whether a remap offers much benefit?
  6. It was advertised on here for £5,750, paid close to that which was very reasonable I think considering the condition, history and mileage!
  7. Thanks! I'm going to keep this one I think as I've never seen another in this colour with cream leather and it's just so original....can only appreciate in value hopefully!
  8. Hi all, After 18 months with a lovely Aqua Blue VR with black leather and then 2 months with a blue Storm I thought I was done with Rado's and was going to buy a R32. However I then spotted the car I now own and it's the nicest Rado I've ever seen and the 6th one I will have owned! It is Aqua Blue with full gorgeous beige leather (much nicer than black IMO, it really brightens up the interior. 90K, 1 owner from new with full VW history every year on the nail from the supplying dealer. The car is virtually immaculate as you can see from the pics and drives perfectly. I can't believe how good the suspension is considering it's original - much better than my previous two although I will be lowering it and finding a suitable set of 16" rims. More to follow as the mods begin!
  9. I had exactly this, spent a fortune replacing leads, coilpack etc. AMD traced the fault in the end to the engine speed sensor but it didn't show on VAG.com as the wires were chafing on the engine block or something like that so it wasn't permanently faulty. It was worst when cold and gradually got better until 20 mins or so of driving by which time it would be fine again. Check it out....
  10. You need to get it plugged in to Vag.com as that will bring up a fault code. Mine is in the garage today for this. It's most likely a wheel sensor which is £50-70 to fix but it could be more serious. Most garages will have the equipment to check it out.
  11. Yes they all had them from new as far as I know (well VR6 deffo). They are still available as I got mine 2 weeks ago.
  12. I've just bought a new one from VAG for mine as it was missing - £15ish plus VAT from memory. I just like it as it makes it original, I'm sure the weather isn't cold enough here to really justify it!
  13. I've sorted the problem but created another one....I had refitted a multiplug the wrong way round when messing about under the dash so it was effectively plugged in back to front but not fully connected as it only properly fits one way. So now the MFA works but it's blown some of my LCD for the mileometer. One of the digits is half missing, real pain! Can these be repaired or is it a case of getting some replacement clocks?
  14. Hi, I've just fitted some new speakers and tweeters in the front and removed the under dash panel to do so. Thing is now my MFA won't work - can't change fromn 1 to 2 or flick between readouts, it's just stuck on the clock. Is there a loom that I've dislodged or something?
  15. Oooh very interesting as I've just got a blue Storm too. However I was going to go for a Magnex exhaust and some FK Konigsport coilovers. I must admit though, being a Storm, I've been in two minds about this and whether or not to get standard bits. What does everyone think? I agree with the standard ride height - looks ridiculous but then that's the way VW intended. Also has anyone experienced Powerflex bushes. I want to replace all rubber parts and wondered what the benefit of these is?
  16. I paid the going rate considering I bought it with no MOT or tax and it needed a total valet plus it needs servicing and who knows what else with a VR!! The other car is an SLK AMG which is probably not most people's cup of tea on here so you'll all say keep the Storm! The SLK does 0-60 in 5.2 seconds and I've never had that kind of performance - it's amazing!! That's why I sold my other VR cos I fancied a change and sold some shares. Now though I just feel the Storm is a real one off with the low miles....decisons decisons!! No it doesn't have aircon by the way. What stereo should it have? It has a Sony CDX-C860 RDS - but the brochure says different? Any other Storm owners with this stereo?
  17. Hi all, just thought I'd put up a couple of pics of my new car. It's getting dark so they're not the best but you get the idea. I sold my VR6 and was very sad to see it go as it was mint but a few days later the owner of this Storm rang me. Believe it or not, I'd left my name and number on his windscreen ages ago and he called up. It needs a service and some bits of touch-up but is basically mint. I have all the MOT's to prove mileage and FSH up till 2002 with VW. It needs new suspension as it's gone soggy but would you replace with originals or lower it (looks as if it's on stilts compared to my previous one which had Koni's!!). I don't know whether or not I'll keep it as the reason for selling my last one was the purchase of another car so I've now got to decide which one to keep!
  18. Hi mate, I'm in Oxford too, where did u take it? I've had a local garage tell me I needed a new engine following a bad misfire as the compressions were down. I didn't believe them and took it to AMD who diagnosed a faulty speed sensor and it's been perfect ever since (last 14 months!). And at 80k that seems ridiculous, mines done 128k and never been looked at....
  19. Pic attached of my new secondhand RX2 wheels, what do you think?
  20. I'll take pics tomorrow, only got them on this eve and they look great. These are the third set I've had for my car, guess you're up to about 30th set???!!!
  21. Very nice - similar as said above to RX2 BBS which I've just fitted to mine today and they look the d b's!! (Pics soon)
  22. Ardandy, have you bought the blue one with Recaro leather that was on here? If so that's Aqua Blue Pearl, same colour as mine - Mystic Blue was a Storm only colour from 1995 M. Cheers and hope the new car is good, seats look amazing!
  23. If it's blue it should be Mystic Blue with black leather and will say this on an orange sticker inside the driver side wing. It should also have a colour coded grill, BBS Solitude alloys and a Storm badge by the gear lever and on the back under the Corrado badge. The green ones had cream leather but could be ordered in this colour so are easier to fake. The log books do not say Storm. How many miles has it done? Is it the one with He-man cos that is genuine?
  24. Just for your info, my brother sold his VR6 and bought a 150 Golf at the weekend - 33k miles, 02 52 reg, indigo blue 5 dr, 1 owner, heated seats and cruise control for £9,400, UK car with full history and mint. The 150 engines were all badged as GTi as far as I know and are listed in the brochure as GTi too.
  25. This car that was on here for £6k Storm For Sale, 1995 VW Corrado Storm Mystic Blue Metallic 85K miles FVWSH Usual STORM refinements Car is still totally factory standard MOT end of FEB06 Taxed Nov06 Excellent example of a classic car £6000 no offers, is now here for £7,995!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://stone.he.net/~csis01/volkscars/catalogue.php
