Sorry guys, one of you says RX2 and one RK2, hard to tell from the pic but RK2 looks more like it - correct?
-
What are the wheels on this car and who makes the front bumper / body kit? It looks fantastic!

I have a price list from 1995 which shows that all leather seats were heated, it was not an option, Storm or not, and in fact i've yet to see a Corrado with factory leather without heated seats...anyone got one? Mine did accidentally come without the heater elements from new and the owner got them retro fitted foc from the dealers.

Just another thought and a possible cheap solution, my brother had a stiff handle and lubricated with WD40. It's no good squirting the stuff in the lock though or on the visible latch area, apparently you have to undo the big gold screw inside the door jam (above the latch) and the handle then pulls away from the door. Squirt WD all over the innards and it may be better - i've tried his and it works like new now! I'm doing mine tomorrow as that's stiff as well.

I replaced the original foam as my brother used some RAF super strength treacly substance used on aeroplanes but it all started falling off and looked a real mess - £70 from the dealers is a lot for what it is but I like to keep it how it should be!
-
Not hard to do, my foam came off in whole pieces - i think the glue must dry out over the years. I bought new foam from VW so didn't try to clear the old glue entirely.

How cool, my first Corrado was another of these early press cars - F238 BVV I think. I bought it in 1994 on Boxing Day in the dark from a trader in Northampton. Anyhow, cos it was Xmas I didn't HPI it - what a mistake, the car was twisted and drove horribly - I wrote it off after a week and was lucky to escape unhurt. I then discovered it had been written off in the first 4 months of it's life, repaired and written off AGAIN!!! 3 yrs later. I think I finished it off once and for all but was so gutted as I loved it (was 22 at the time and had sold a concours Scirocco GTX to buy it!) Yours looks great though! Mine had elec roof but manual windows - is this ne the same?

It's brilliant - wash the clay under a warm tap to remove dirt though, otherwise any grit or tar stuck to it may scratch the paint.

The ISV silencer, where is that cos mine whistles too but only over 4000 revs when accelerating hard.

sorry mate but i think the driver of the R32 was't even trying!!!!!! cos put a mini cooper s or and clio 182 or cupra r against a c vr6 a see whos is going to loose... ...Great to see this thread caused so much interest...I don't agree with the above at all though fast x. I have a good friend with Cooper S and off the line they are almost neck and neck. However after about 80mph the Corrado gains and increases the gap thereafter. I must say my VR seems particularly lively with 125k miles on it compared to my brother's car which has 80k (unless his is underperforming for some reason). I do cane my car but it's designed to take a beating and runs better for it i think! Anyhow, as Dinkus said, the Rado is far cooler than the R32 so I'm sticking with it.

Really funny coincidence today...had been to look at buying a Golf R32 to replace 2 cars, one being my VR6. I was in the VR on the way back on the motorway and saw an R32 steaming up the outside lane. Needless to say I put my foot down and we had about 15 miles of outside lane fun! Thing was when I dropped into 4th and floored it, I created a reasonable gap between the two of us so i'm sure the Corrado must be quicker at higher speeds than the R32?? And when I pulled into the middle lane he couldn't gain anything on me and this was right up to speeds I would rather not mention... I was so chuffed as it made me realise how great the VR is and mine cost me £4k compared to £20k for the R32... Thinking of getting a remap done at AMD - anyone any thoughts on whether this is worthwhile?
-
I think the Good Year Eagles are great - I've now got some new 17" inch wheels with Yoko A539's and they are rubbish both wet and dry compared to the Goodies.
-
Well AMD sorted my VR after several other unsuccessful attempts with a running problem from other garages so I'll always use them...ask for Craig.
-
wow, where did u find that with such low mileage? Has it got leather or anything? Any pics?
-
Funny actually, just past a City Rover (the first i've seen on the road i think!) and it was an 04 reg broken down with a puddle of fluid underneath it - says it all really!

Hi all, Just thought you might like to see my car after 9 mths of ownership and ££££'s spent getting it as mint as possible. It now has the much vaunted Koni T/A's with H&R springs and new 17" ACE 198 alloys. I wasn't keen on the wheels to start with but they've grown on me...what do you lot think? (ps not sure if pics uploaded - can someone help if not?)

Hi all, wondered if anyone can tell me whether or not my emissions etc below are within tolerance/too high/too low and what that would mean i.e do the results point to any faulty components. This all stems from my quest to smooth the idle and also the performance doesn't seem as strong as it did, esp at low revs. Help appreciated. Fast Idle RPM 2911 CO .009 HC 5 Lambda 1.003 Natural Idle RPM 691 CO .004 Is the idle speed of 691 correct? My brothers VR is more like 500rpm.

I was charged £160 (4 hrs labour) to do the whole lot, and will pay £60 plus Vat at local bodyshop 4 laser 4 wheel alignment. Also had rear axle bushes done and new front disks - labour £95 plus vat for all that which didn't seem bad. Mine is a Feb 95 car and had the newer style top plates.
-
Mmmm, just been out to have a look and they fit fine. The ride is pretty firm even on the softest setting. Feels much better though, like a new car! Am going to wait until alignment has been done before chucking it about.

Hi all, just got my C back with new T/A Koni's and H&R springs. Thing is the garage have not fitted the side bits back that hold the speakers cos they said the adjuster for the suspension sticks up to far and hits the speaker. Obviously I want it all fitted back and can't imagine all of you with this set up have half your boot missing!! So what's the answer? Also for those of you thinking about having this done, if you have a 95MY Corrado (presume that means the ones with the smaller front spoiler) you will need top plates from a pre 95MY car as they differ and the H&R springs are only made for earlier cars. I didn't know this and kevhaywire kindly told me why my garage were having problems.
-
My car is at the garage having Koni shocks / H&R springs fitted - they said they are waiting for plates for the front suspension as the existing ones are too small??? Is this right or have I been supplied the wrong springs? Also they have fitted cross drilled discs which I didn't ask for - are these much more expensive?
-
My VR6 is booked in for Koni T/A's and H&R springs tomorrow after taking Kev's advice (will report later in the week as to what I think!). I have also got new top mounts and rear bump stops. Kit was cheapest from Larkspeed for me. Passed MOT 2 weeks ago but they did advice on rear axle bushes split - would you advise these be changed at the same time?

Guys, my oil was really low so have topped up with about 1 litre of GTX Magnatec (10/40). Since then the engine is noisier when it's warmed up. It's totally smooth from cold and then a faint noise starts in the engine, doesn't really sound like tappets but it is a similar noise, from nowhere particular in the engine (not the chains I'm sure). Any ideas? I'm not sure what oil was in from the service, maybe it was thicker...should I go to a non semi-synthetic oil?

Deffo R32, I had one in pearl blue with black leather - looks fantastic and goes like stink. Would change exhaust though for Miltek as it's too boomy as standard. I found it very thirsty too, more so than the Corrado and sold it cos I do too many miles. I think it will be a real collectors piece in a few years and so long term residual stronger than the other cars (esp the Leon and Civic). I tried the new GTi last weekend and even that doesn't excite like the R32. I like the Alfa's but reliability would concern me. I drove the honda as well - too buzzy and a bit 'jap crap' for my liking. Seat is great, bags of power but just doesn't quite cut the mustard imo.

Looks lovely!!! How much did that cost? Also I have a set of immaculate original (not refurbished) Storm wheels with almost new Good Year tryes if you are interested in case yours are damaged or peeling as many do. Let me know if interested as will be going on ebay soon.
