Hi. Ive just finished putting the interior back in the VR I bought as spares/repair and have realised im missing a few bits: the fuse box cover fixings, the switch blanks from the dash(the one next to the headlight switch, and the one below the fog and heated rear screen switch), the screw cover caps that go on the instrument cluster surround, the hand brake plastic sleeve that goes up and down with the hand brake, and finally a good condition gear knob and hand brake handle. If you have any of these parts then PM me with your paypal details and a price including delivery. Many thanks in advance. Rob.

No worries. Let me know how you get on. Cheers. :)

Yes mine now works perfectly. I added the link to the previous post to show you. I was well happy to get it sorted as I nearly gave up!

This sounds just like the problem I had. Its the wiring in the drivers door loom that needs looking at. Take the drivers door card off and pull back the membrane on the lock side. You will see the wiring split in a V shape,-part of it goes to the lock and the other part goes to the handle. Undo the tape around the loom at the V section and look for a loose wire. Its worth a look if nothing else. What type of immobiliser does it have buddy?

No reply from iamsilverfox, so still looking if anyone can help? Thanks.

Possibly the ignition switch is needing replacing,it could be several things though! Has it been stalling or running lumpy whilst driving it or on idle?

This is something I would love to do with my 2.0 16v. I have a friend selling a V6 4motion complete, it's had a rear end shunt but it drives perfectly. This is his clubgti build thread for his current track car:http://www.clubgti.com/showthread.php?252467-Fresh-mk2-TDI-PD-track-build . He could probably help you out with various parts for your project if you wanted!

Just found a puddle in my drivers footwell.
dumptyboy replied to Johnny H's topic in General Car Chat
The cold air intake is on the passenger side, and probably not causing the problem in the drivers foot well. I would suggest checking the drainage holes in the scuttle panel are clear of debris(blast them out with a high pressure hose nozzle), check your sunroof is sealing properly around the seal aswell as the drivers door seal. If all these appear fine then I would consider maybe taking the drivers side door card off and checking if the membrane behind it is sealed all the way round. Put abit of talcum powder along the drivers side inner sill first, close the door and spray a hose over the car and see if you can see where the water is coming from? Hope this is of some help. Rob. :) -

Sunroof seal, mechanism parts, cup holder, central locking pump.
dumptyboy replied to dumptyboy's topic in Parts for Sale
The corrado never came with a cup holder, but I was going to chop the front ashtray and fit this. It will require chopping the dash to fit it, but not to big a job. -
I dont know if any of these parts are of any use to anyone but I have them kicking around and im never going to need them: Original corrado sunroof seal, it has been used but is apparently off a low milage car, it looks very clean, has slight wear on one side but still water tight. £12 posted.SOLD. Early corrado fog light switch and heated rear screen switch loom, good condition. £12 posted Corrado sunroof mechanism parts, both sides, but the passenger side is broken, drivers side is complete. £8 posted. SOLD VW/Audi cup holder, the type that pops out from the dash! I was going to remove my dash astray and fit this instead. £15 posted SOLD VW golf MK3 central locking pump, a direct replacement for you corrado pump, wiring is the same, and unlocks the central locking slightly quicker. £15 Cheers. Rob ---------- Post added at 8:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:00 PM ---------- Also Karmann gaiter surround in grey. The leather is showing signs of wear. £15 posted

Cable now sorted. Thanks Chris.(lilfuzzer) Top bloke. :)

Dave, that sounds exactly like the situation I had! I bought the car spares/repair off ebay as it had an electrical fault apparently. Once I got it home I found there was cables all over the place sticking out of the dash, and also it had a Clifford alarm. The car would turn over but not start, so I decided to do a complete rewire and remove the dash to see the extent of the damage/problem. Someone had cut the main wiring for the Clifford alarm and the stereo wiring had melted, aswell as the ignition wiring chopped to bits!! I removed the Clifford alarm and a bag full of wiring for the aftermarket stereo system fitted, and basically removed any wiring that was not original. Obviously with the dash out it is alot easier to see whats there, and this is where i decided a completely new dash loom was required as the wiring was so badly chopped/burnt/cut that it was a suprised the car had not gone up in flames! To do a proper job you need to remove the dash, it is suprisingly easy to remove and once the wiring is sorted you will sleep alot better knowing it all works and that your car wont end up on fire due to dodgy electrics. My electric windows now works as well as full closure, the instrument cluster works, the heater controls, indicators and the wipers and non of these worked before the new loom. Its well worth doing the job properly once and then enjoying the car for good. Will speak to you soon mate.

Hi Dave. I currently have the dash out in my VR6 and all of the wiring is exposed, so I can take some pictures if you like once the ABS loom is in. Ive had to replace the complete loom in the dash as all of mine was fried. So I have a pretty good idea of where everything needs to go. Ive also had to adapt an early wiring loom to fit my later car, that was quite interesting mainly because all of the connections are different! So I had to remove the connections inside the connector blocks and refit them into the new loom. I'll send you over whatever info you need once ive fitted the ABS loom, hoefully by the end of this week if thats any good to you mate? Rob.

Still looking........ Its the cable that is connected into the back of the ABS dash light, and goes back to the fuse board. Im sure a few of you will have one kicking around? Please help. :) Cheers. Rob.

As title. Does anyone have a late wiring loom for the dash ABS light? Cheers. Rob.

Rob's Project VR6 and 2.0 16v, VR6 head rebuild.
dumptyboy replied to dumptyboy's topic in Members Gallery
Small progress as usual. I retumbled the locks on both the 16v and the VR6 last week which makes it so much easier to have just one key fit all the locks. I also picked up the wheels after the refurb and fitted them back on the 2.0 once the tyres were refitted and balanced. Im pretty happy with the finish of the wheels, and they only cost £30 a corner to powder coat them. I recieved my new wiring loom for the VR6 on Thursday and have been busy fitting that and sorting out the central locking which wasnt working! I managed to fix the central locking after findind a break in the door cables and it works like new since fixed.:) Ive just ordered a new sunroof seal for the VR and new center caps for the wheels on the 16v. Hopefully the next big hit is to get the interior refitted into the VR and tidy up the engine wiring. Broken central locking cables: Soldered back into place: :) -
Could try to resore it to factory settings, http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-58528-reset-toshiba-laptop-to-factory-settings

Any suggestions? Central locking/closure problems..........
dumptyboy replied to dumptyboy's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Just incase anyone wants to know, i managed to figure this out by tracing back all the cables and stripping back the fabric tape that holds the wiring loom together for the central locking. I thought the only other possible cause of this problem could be the wiring itself having a break in it somewhere. So I checked the most obvious place first inside the door lining, pulled back abit of the loom tape and found the problem, broken cables, and it was the same inside the drivers and passenger door. So I stripped back the cable, soldered them back together and shrink wrapped them. Reconnected battery and tested. And it all works perfectly again! It has probably taken me the equivelent of a whole day time wise to figure out what was happening here. Changing the central locking module, central locking pump, removing handles to check for damaged cables and tracing back all the cables! But im really happy its all working like new again. -
Please pm me if you have either of these badges for sale. Im looking for a red 16v badge for a late grill (i have one for an early grill if you wish to swap?), and a silver VR6 badge for a late grill as mine are missing/stolen! Let me know what you have. Much love. Rob. :)
