  1. Should just be a simple yes/no answer... In the life of the Corrado, have there been any changes to the wings?? Would a 94 wing fit to a 91 Corrado??? Cheers!!
  2. Alright, there's about 3 different threads about this at the mo... see http://www.atx-hosting.co.uk/corrado/fo ... php?t=5360 Most likely ot be the membrane between the metal of the door and the door card coming unstuck at the bottom. I'm currently replacing mine as after the heavy rain I've got an inch of water in there.... :(

    Wet Carpet!

Nice to know it isn't just me then!! :? Gunna go to a DIY shop and get some heavy duty rubbish bags and stick them in in place of the original membrane as it's quite old and is cracking. I can also then build covers for the wires to there's NO way water's getting in through there. Then it's onto either the sunroof or the windscreen seal to explain the water dripping down the side of the windscreen... (looking on the bright side, i provided entertainment in the work car park as I stripped each door down out there...)
  4. It's a squeaking noise rather than a droning... A slight right turn is ok, but anything more and it squeals and squeaks like rubber that is pushed tightly against metal sliding slightly. It's proper embarrassing tho... I think there was a slight drone in there, so I'm replacing the bearings this weekend. Maybe this will sort it (I hope so as I've had thewishbone off and greased up all the rubbers on there with no effect...)
  5. Probably the screen then, as the door seals were completely dry even after driving. I'll have a look tonight...
  6. Could someone just confirm what a failing wheel bearing sounds like...? Every time I turn right there is a squeaking noise, like that of rubber twisting. Is that a wheel bearing on it's way out??? Also, the track control arm, or wishbone, has a little bit of play in it. The wheel moves a few mm when you push/pull it at 9 and 3 o'clock. I take it there shouldn't be any play in it? It's def where the front of the wishbone joins the subframe. the wishbone is brand new from VW and came with the rubbers in...? I take it this is wrong....?

    steamy windows

Are they steamy when you get in the car, or do they get steamy when you're driving? Has it only started since it's been raining? Are your carpets damp? Mine's started steaming up since the rain started and I've found why... damp carpets = water leak...
  8. lol! The door seals and inner skin are fine. I've checked those thouroghly when I put in the audioscape door pods. I'll be taking out the seats and carpet later this week, give the carpets time to dry out while I find the leak...
  9. Have already done that. I clear out anything in the scuttle each time I clean the car... And the drips are coming from above the level of the scuttle panel... :?:
  10. Hoovering out the car at the weekend and lift the mats to find the carpets are all sodden. bugger. This morning after driving in I found a few drops running down the side of the dashboard on the drivers side. Right on the outside of it that butts onto the door when it's closed and in line with the nearest edge of the speaker grille on the dash. Anyone have any ideas where this is coming from? Could it be the sunroof, or maybe the window seals from the windscreen? It's not the door seals, or the door membrane as there's no water down at the bottom of the car and I've previously sealed these up... Anyone have any ideas? Cheers!
  11. I've got Konigsports. They're fine for general road use, actually, they're really nice round the SMOOTH bends, but round my way, as is probably thecase the whole country over the roads aren't particularly good. I've had it airborne several times now from dips in the road, and I can't take one of my favourite bits of road anywhere near as fast as there's one of those dips just before a right hand bend so I'm arborne and need to turn. So, if the roads you're gunna be driving down are flat like a pancake then they're excellent. Oh yeah. I've wound it down nice and low and the 90mm splitter rubs on everything.... :D :D (odd looks from all passers by!)
  12. Driving home the other night and as I was coming round to the A3 the usual 60 mph speed limit signs on the gantry were showing. As I got nearer for some reason they changed to just saying FOG (not sure why as it was proper hot weather...) Anyway, I saw a guy get flashed going the other way by one of the camera's and when I looked in the rear view mirror, those signs were also saying fog. If they're not showing a speed limit up there, how can you get flashed for speeding?? :?:
  13. It should be arriving today, so I'll fit it when I get home and let you know what it's like...
  14. I've had several embarrasing horn problems what with all this hot weather and girls wearing next to nothing....
  15. Yeah, I phoned up TSR and he said that it;s the front that takes the real pummeling. I know it's gone because I can feel the engine move when I bring up the clutch in first and second. Also on a 16v engine you can grab the alternator and pull up and the engine moves. Bought a Euro Car PArts one last time, and that was about 6 months ago. It's now gone again...
  16. I've got a 90mm one and it grounds on everything. My driveway, multistorey car parks, small pebbles etc etc. It just makes a grinding scraping noise though and people then look at the car and whisper to each other about how low it is.... It's cracked either side though, so the front flexes a little, I think this helps with it not being ripped off. Not sure how low it is, it's on coilovers and they're wound down just far enough so I can still get out of my driveway... :D
  17. Genuine VW one is £120 also... Might well give TSR a ring, and ask them about it... Cheers!
  18. Looks like it's a VT one then. Does anyone know roughly the sort of price for one? And where to get one from????
  19. I think I prefer the all black ones, but I know over here you need a red reflector on the back to make the car legal. Also from an insurance point of view, if you're parked up at the side of the road and someone hits you at night, then they could claim they didn't see you due to the lack of reflectors...? (also is your exhaust a little wonky?? )

    Awesome GTI

Depends on the colour of the car. I personally prefer the grill to be black and just the eyebrow body coloured. But thats just my opinion...
  21. Having just phoned VW about a new front engine mount and being quoted £120 for it (inc VAT) I'm thinking about getting a Vibratech one. Would people who have them reccomend them over standard, and does anyone have a prince for one for a 16v C...? Cheers!
  22. Thats true in my experience. The front nearside bush lasted a grand total of 3 months before showing noticable play... Now got powerflex front wishbone front bushes in, but not the rear saucer shaped ones as I cannot for the life of me get the little buggers in. I've got some spare wishbones and try as I might I cannot get them pressed in. Need to get a garage of somewhere with a huge industrial press to push them in.....
  23. some things ARE better left alone....
  24. Just an idea, but jack it up and hit the tyre with a lump hammer and see if there are any rattles? Might rule out a few things...?
