Sadly not normal and "super pursuit" mode 1 (bearable) tickover at 500 rpm, runs a bit flat, stalls a bit mode 2 (chitty chitty bang bang) tickover at 1100 rpm. when you touch the throttle, the revs drop by about 700 rpm, it almost dies, then picks up again. crazy misfires before 2000 rpm. even when moving. tries to stall at every junction. if it does stall. its a slags ass to start. and when it does start you have to literally floor it and wait for it to get above 2000 rpm, back in the driveable area. it switches randomly between these 2 modes, regardless of engine temperature. the cold start routine works ok, and it starts ok ish from cold. but if mode 2 kicks in during cold start, the tickover goes up to 1500rpm. and i sound like old ma revs when i pull away. its been doing this for a long time. in that time i have changed the plugs and leads. it made no difference. its done 150k.

it looks good except for the ferrari badges. that looks stoopid

careful with solvents, they may attack the plastic. try giving it some stick with soapy water and CAREFUL use of a scratchy pad (the more worn the better)

anger always helps. some say "its not the wrath its the math" but all you need is a hammer in each hand . . .

as above the circlip is inside the joint just whack it off. it WILL come. make sure you are "holding the shaft when you beat it" :D get yourself a spline bit too. they sell em everywhere. VERY handy to have. DONT use a 6mm allen key or any torx bit. when using the spline bit, HAMMER it into each screw. to make sure its in firm. if it aint, it'll chew. if it chews, you'll be sorry.

seconded. swap the red and yellow leads over. manual? that book that comes with stuff? wondered what was in them things . . . .

either will do for me, please. a vr6 with it's fat sack of power, or a g60 with it's crazy tuning possiblities. i think i need one of each.

no gti mk1 polos were in normal production i dont think that mk1 scirocco is dope. mk1 sci's rule. gotta be the second nicest shaped vw.

its the contacts between the steering wheel and the switch panel stalk thingy. take the wheel off, you'll see. on my mk2 golf the contacts got all shabby and the horn kept beeping when was i was turning. then one day. in traffic, it just stuck on. ok it only took me 10 seconds to decide to pull the centre off the steering wheel, and yank the wires off, but i felt like a tit.

i had a book about corrados once, years ago. (lost during leaving of ex wife . . . ) anyway that had some development pictures of corrados during the 80's. some right fruity looking beasts too. i think it was gonna be badged as a scirocco, as the dev models were. i'd like to find that book again.

i used to live in uttoxeter, but now in stafford. not too far i guess! i had my vr6 reading 150mph on the A50 towards derby one time . . .

the guy at my local vw dealers (on the parts counter) told me the R32 had 440 bhp. i ignored that and said it was a good car for the money, considering my C VR6 cost almost the same 10 years earlier. he quickly corrected me by telling me that volkswagen DIDNT PRODUCE A CORRADO THAT COST MORE THAN 17k. and he laughed at me like i was stupid.

some mornings i follow old land rovers to work (farmer country) they drive at 11mph, indicate right and turn left etc the most dangerous vehicle on the road is a land rover towing a horse box. luckily for farmers, their vehicles have cloaking devices. so that the police drive around the tractor towing the trailer at night with NO number plate NO lights (except for a 1000W fog light shining backwards) and they pull me over for having a number plate light out. not that i am bitter. . .

jb weld is eterno gum, i can vouch for that. my passenger side headlight is damaged in the same way. and it's "wobbly bob" i will attempt the jb / ali plate idea

i like the plastic trim. for the first 2.5 years of owning my car, it had nothing there. the trim was in the glove box. i had no idea how to get the freaking handbrake handle off. then i forgot about it. but then i read a how to on here, got it off in 5 seconds then fitted the plastic bit the other week!!! i liked it so much that i kept looking at it whilst driving home from work that day, and very nearly drove into a bus coming the other way. if i fit something nicer than the plastic thing, the temptation to look will be so great that an accident will be odds on.

focus rs would only beat the c vr6 in a top trumps game :wink:
