One of our suppliers is now manufacturing these - what do you think ? Maybe somebody could photochop a set onto a Corrado so we can see what they'd look like ?
-
Halfords ?? Be VERY careful not to overtighten the new sensor...
-
Yeah - German spec is crystal clear & UK spec is "green" tint...
-
Riley, Get the standard VW "green" tint windows & have the black film applied.
-
I'll check & see if we stock them when I get back to work on Monday...
-
Be careful fitting any new sensors in there - the housing is prone to cracking...
-
You could try but I think it would start to leak again soon afterwards.
-
There is a "legal" version that you can buy called "ETOS", although I'm not totally sure where to buy it..
-
I assume that site is related to the one that used to host ETKA online - VW are on the trail & it keeps getting shut down.
-
You sure......... I've driven several of both & beg to differ...

I put W5DPO's in mine - made a big difference to the power, higher in the rev range........
-
Banana Man, Were the plugs that you got from egay the NEW Bosch type (WR6DPO) ?? The new range of Bosch plugs are all "resistor" plugs !!
-
Fractured exhaust or leaking exhaust manifold ?? Engine will have been raised to replace the mounting - often damages the exhaust system !! Alternatively - leaking cam cover gasket - oil running down the back of the head, burning on the exhaust manifold ??

I don't see how anybody can view a privately owned car as an investment. Quite true, in extreme cases it is possible to make some money but generally that's not the case. I spend plenty of cash & time on mine but I'm reallistic about it - I know I will never get any of the cash that I spend back........
-
Quite simle - timing chains are far more stronger & reliable than cam belts. Belts can & do snap without notice & tensioner pulleys seize. Certain VW engines do suffer from cam belt failure, whereby the belts regularly snap before the service interval at which they should be replaced !! Mercedes do not & will not use timing belts on any of their engines for the above reasons.

_leon_, cheers m8 - metallic black Corrados are the best......... I've stuck some new piston rings on & I'll be honing my cylinder bores out this weekend, before building it all back together... -
vr6storm, I assumed that the 8v had the same injection system as the 16v.

The only commercially available induction kit for k-jetronic is made by Pipercross - AFAIK we keep them in stock, although I don't know the price.

I always assumed that age weighted excess on insurance policies was because they think that younger drivers are more likely to have an accident. Your age has no significance whatsoever in this particular case.

 .......

That car paintwork looks like my mum's kitchen wallpaper ..

nope - should pull all the way to the red-line. Many causes for power to "tail off" - have you checked the DIY section of http://www.snstuning.com ?
-
Yup - I can vouch for that one .
