1. Hi seanl82, had a stock one that clipped to the top of the firewall but it's seen better days; cant find a part number for it on etka - any ideas? Vr6 one could be a good shout. Cheers Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
2. Afternoon All, After stripping my firewall for a respray I am now looking to pipe it all back up and refit master cylinders etc, would there be any merit in applying some self adhesive heat shield to the firewall directly behind the manifold? Not sold on the idea but don't want my paint damaged either - anyone have any thoughts? Cheers Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
3. Just in the process of doing mine, got it blasted locally for £30 along with the wishbones; painting it with Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
4. HI Steve, Im interested in the Vdo oil sender, decat and charger support brackets if they become available 👍 Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
5. Cheers bud. Was only £4 from DT so I wasn't too worried. Probably be back here when the install is a bit further on 👍
6. Think I've now located the bolt, it's on-route from demon tweaks. Haven't got any pipework etc yet as am not yet sure where exactly I'm going to squeeze the cooler in. Any idea on the deal with push on fittings? Had wondered why the 'mocal' logo would be upside down¿ it's gonna look a bit odd - seal sits in a groove on one side and isn't removable.
7. Does look very nice, what sort of costs are involved in a rebuild like that?
8. After spending alot of time cleaning and restoring my engine it is time to face the gear box which has sat unloved for 2yrs. Before I go down the road of wire brushes and degreaser I was wondering about getting it shot blasted with my next load of parts - anyone done this? Shouldn't be too hard to protect the valuables, was considering a piece of ply over the end of the bell housing and tape up everything else. Any thoughts?
9. Thanks veedubbed, some pics would be good. No centre bolt provided 👎. Looks like I need a centre bolt like the one below to go from 18mm to 24 and back again?
10. Got a Mocal sandwich plate to go on my G60, having a few issues and the company I ordered it from aren't much help. Gone to fit it and the centre bolt is too long, now found out you can order these to suit; question is that the standard centre bolt is 18mm diameter but the hole in the sandwich plate is 24mm - is there a collar or alike to sort this? Also the sandwich plate has an integral seal on one side - is this the top or bottom?
11. Pristine Alloys did a superb job on mine, I drove them from Devon and it was well worth it; they are outside your search area but I'm sure they ship - http://www.pristinealloywheels.co.uk/
12. Hi All, Can anyone shed some light on the correct G60 Pulley Part no.s? Taken mine off to refurb and couldn't remember which way round they went (cam/intermediate); Checked the part numbers on Etka and it shows 049 109 111C for both, I have one of these but also 1no 037 109 111? Thanks
13. Cheers guys, found the viton ones and ordered some - think I've found a supplier for the cover seal too 😀
14. On the never-ending hunt for parts, I'm now trying to track down some seals and gaskets which are apparently discontinued - has anybody found a source anywhere?; Locking cover seal N90250201 Charger support gasket 049127311 Oil filter bracket gasket 026115441A Cheers

G60 Timing

Probably a simple Q, but just want to check... Recently taken the head off my G60 to paint it up and replace the head gasket; now about to start reassembly and have lost the timing - should it be cylinder 1 TDC and both valves shut? I'm getting someone else to set it all back up when finished but want to leave it in the best position Cheers
17. Yes m8, had them refurbed in white - looking forward to getting them on 😀
18. Update on recent developments, engine stripped and degreased, head and block prepared for paint; also had a load of parts back from the blasters, primed and ready for paint. Had a bit of a cull on the growing shopping list - head gasket, head bolts, sump and rocker gaskets delivered 😀
19. Now done most of my head and block with the £20 one above, gone through a few bits but has done a sweet job - do feel like a dentist using it though 😀
20. In case it helps anyone else, I borrowed a cordless snap on impact driver - whipped the old bolt out with ease, even on a stand
21. Just bought one of these for the same job Rob, looks good for £20 incl case, stand and a selection of bits: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=351192279292&alt=web
22. Recently got some from this place, looks pukka - not too expensive either. http://auto-paint.co.uk/carpaint/
