OMG! same thing happened to me last year in Sevenoaks Halfords. Being a laid back friendly guy and having some free time I started chatting to him. He says will just send me the bumf so I said sure. Then he asks me to sign! I've had debt collection jobs and sales jobs before so I know the score so just said "look I'm not signing ok?" so then his boss comes up to met 5 mins later, the cheeky git! I jus said "what!" and looked at him in disgrace so he backs off. I've a good mind to report these paracites.

sounds like a good project although I guess a G60 will give you more bhp per £. BTW what is a 2.0 bottom end in lahmans terms? do you keep the cylinder head and just change the block?

yea, bet she flies! and there was my boss today banging on about how his nissan primera "flies" lol. I didn't want to look like a cnut and say "yea but my VR is much quicker" so just zipped it. So you going to go to the Pod Steve? -

nice MK2, I would save the cash and maybe get a 20VT lump? I like the factory wheels, As an all round car the MK2 16V was the best hot hatch I ever had but for fun, the 205 had it. -
steam is definitley a problem on my C. Niggles are to be expected on a 13 year old car like mine that has done a fair few miles, but the C was never a cheap car to run. Are there better cars out there for the money? Very subjective but if you'r just after performance then yes, there are faster cars available for the same money but as a general all round package it is still very hard to beat.
-
a bit of banter is nice but one of the reasons that I come back to this site is because everyone here seems to understand that tho we all love C's and they are fab etc, there are other very good cars out there, unlike some people on other sites.
-
at one stage my rear seats were full of old garbage like mc d's although not in the C! those little things can get anywhere, they can fit through something as thin as a pencil!
-
whats insurance weighting? No wonder I got taken from behind when I used to try and get insurance in London! It's a 6b in West London but should definitley be a Q! Now I'm moving to a 2b! my little bro will be seventeen soon. As far as I can tell there are only 2 cars in insurance group 1, Sciecento 900 and Corsa 1.0, I think the Corsa may be slightly better but the amount those Sciecento's are depreciating makes it tempting also! lol
-
Is that a Canadian phrase? "my bad" just I don't think i've heard it before.
-
funnily enough I was looking at s14's before I got the C tho I think the 98 on Touring models are much nicer looking on the inside and out. Good choice and good luck!
-
you certainly have a very nice C and I'm sure you are doing the Canadian front proud. I've seen you'r C on the Canadian forum! How many miles have you done? Because I don't think I've seen a red one that clean before!

ah yes, I think the overlap on the cams on the i-vtec lasts for much longer. The revised edition has a lighter clutch and flywheel so revs up the range even quicker. The way to sort out the vtec problem is to get an apexi vtec controller, then combine with Hondata K pro, gruppe M filter and full spoon manifold and exhaust and that baby will fly! That would take a heavily modded VR to beat. The only thing I don't like is on the CTR forum, everyone keeps banging on about beating all manner of cars inc M3's, S3's and Porsche's, atleast the C guys don't have this delusional behaviour.
-
looks very nice and smooth, ah brings me back to my old MK2 days. Is it an 8/16V? are you going to hang on to it?
-
take the CTR round a track and it will make a golf VR look silly, it's even quicker than the MK5 GTI with the DSG box! but you do have to mod the CTR to make it a real flying machine. I've never cared about badges etc, infact I've never been a big fan of VW's in general, it's just I love C's and MK1/2 gti's. Have also heard about the mext CTR with a 2.4 240bhp, think its's out next year. The only Honda I would really love is the NSX R, EVO rated it above the 996 C4S.

I've managed to balls up my chance of owning a Corrado...

is the 160 just a remapped 150 then? for fun it has to be better than the new A3/Golf. I'm possibly lining up a 130 for a project towards the end of the year. Thanks to depreciation the 130's can be had for under 8k now -
there was a 4 door ITR although it is very rare. I've driven the CTR and it is rapid if you push it and may well even have the legs over a VR what with the 6th cog and all. A CTR with Hondata, exhaust and a good filter should be pushing atleast 230bhp.

that Cupra is an awesome motor but I don't think the price increase over a 130 is justified. You could get a second hand 130, take it to jabba and put the Cupra intake on it and it will be easily as quick and you will save atleast 5k outlay plus all the money you will save on depreciation. I've read tests clocking the PD160 in under 7 seconds to 60! but it is also a far higher insurance group than the 130. -
the extra performance and refinement do outweigh the increase in cost/ running IMO although I do like the valver. what rpm where you doing at 35 in 5th then? Is it safe to go under 1,500?
-
do they detect when you are near the old bill with a radar gun?
-
Asda does seem to be particularly bad place to park- i've had people dent my car. These people don't think- I'ts obviously a nice car that someone has pride in- not some old banger
-
I had to get a new ignition barrell for my Uno after some jippo hot wired it with a screw driver! lol. it was £40 so I would of thought it would of been more on a C but maybe not. I remember thinking- boy if I caught him, the moron left his bus pass in the car! he was only 15! despite this conclusive evidience, do you think the police did anything? course they didn't!

I'm not exactley an expert on forced induction but have you senn many cars with a turbo & Supercharger? sounds a bit like pub talk? i guess of money is no object then it is possible but surely just one big supercharger or twin turbos are better?
-
I was thinking about getting this set up but a few people have said that the ride is too harsh. How much does it lower the front on the VR? and what's the ride like on the VR with the comfort kit?
-
I had a 1 litre Yaris as a hire car and managed 56 in 2nd LOL. I prefer the C a bit all round to the Audi Coupe but of course I woud say that. If you'r into modding I would say get a 2.0 16v/G60 and if not, get a VR6 but at 21 you will need a few NCB to get a good quote, particularly on a VR6.
