  1. GSF £89 + VAT its a bit cheaper than dealer LOL
  2. Is it the same one on the 16v Golf or are there any other cars with the same one.
  3. Thanks for all your help Steve, I think ive found the problem. The car was back at the garage today and again they told me that they had fixed it. They cleaned the ISV and the mixture was to lean so the mechanic came out to check this time and it was still revving really bad and had the misfire. He disconnected the ISV and the revs dropped to 800/900 and when reconnected it stayed up at 950ish and stopped misfiring. Drove the car home without any problems, Mechanics says the ISV is sticking and needs to be replaced as its been cleaned out twice now. Am i right in saying that IV's are really expensive and whereas the best place to get one??????
  4. Theres a coil that adjusts the brightness of the dashlights so the metal slider might not be touching it and therefore stopping the lights from working. just make sure theres a good connection between them, easy fix if its that.
  5. Use a Jackhammer  Just use a blade screw driver and be careful should just pop out easy.
  6. I was driving to work this morning and spend the usual time stuck on the M62 and the engines backfire at idle was getting worse, every time i turned something electrical on like the wipers/heater the revs would jump to 2000 and then go back down to 1100 and start to backfire again. So i took it to a garage that’s just behind where i work ive never used them but a guy at work recommended them. I told him what was wrong and suggested that i could be the inlet manifold/gaskets as Steve has said. I picked it up this evening and was told that it was all sorted and it was the running valve :? and the bolts on the upper inlet manifold joint were in bad shape so they fitted new ones. So i paid them and went out to the car and guess what its still as bad :( but now its idle is at 1500 most of the time and will get down to just over 1000 when its idled for a while, the backfire is still there and seems to be getting worse. The garage are having it back tomorrow morning and will try again for free :D but im not sure i want to use them again but want to get something for the money ive already spent. Ive had a look and they have replaced the bolts and a new gasket on the manifold so i don’t think its that.
  7. Welcome to the wonderful world of Corrado ownership mate :D I bet the VR will be a tad quicker than your camper
  8. I had nearly 4" of snow up here last night. Took me ages to get it all off the car to go to work, left the car running while i did and woke the neighbours up at 6.30.

Nice car, why are you selling ??
  13. Right ive got ot sorted, I called my local VW breakers and asked if they had a 90 spec 16v Golf as i needed a part for my Corrado, Turns out they didnt have a Golf but they have a very badly damaged C :( + :D so ive got a new pipe for £3 8) just fitted it and the cars now running again so it looks like i have to go to work now :( Cheers guys
  14. Mine is lowered by about 80mm ish and have no problems with speed hump etc.
  15. Thanks Gavin but i need to get to work for 12 tomorrow so need the car fixed ASAP, If its ok ill give you a shout if i get really stuck :D Ive got your number from the very flash business card you gave me with the Passat handles, i managed to find time to fit them yesterday and there great thanks mate.
  16. It has a couple of bends on it and it looks like its a pipe inside of a pipe, like gavin said about the plastic covering. Think id be best getting a proper VW one both VAG and Breakers are getting a call in the morning.
  17. Thanks Gavin, The hunt for a 90 Golf Valver is on :D
  18. I started my car to day and could smell fuel coming from the engine bay so opened the bonnet to find fuel pouring out all over the alternator from the pipe that runs across in front of the manifold. Ive taken the pipe off to find that the one end of it had nearly broken off completely (Now has) Question is it the same pipe on a Golf valver because i can go to the local VW breakers in the morning but i know the don’t have any C's. OR can i buy this pipe (cheap) from somewhere else without having to wait for them to order it. Haven’t a clue about tech names for anything so ive put some Pics up of the pipe :D Also could this pipe have had any thing to do with my bad idle/running recently???? Cheers J
  19. Get some adjustable coilovers and see what suits you best.
  20. Yesterday i had a go at resetting the idle via the screw on the throttle body with instructions that Gavin had posted on another thread and i noticed that the rubber washer on the screw was a bit loose/tatty. What effect could this have on the engine ? also where can i get a new one. I took the car to Leeds and back this morning and it drove/pulled fine with the same power that ive always had but everytime i stopped at lights etc i noticed that there is a very slight backfire type noise from the exhaust. any ideas?
  21. Problem is that it isnt  The last owner of my car had it painted black to make it look like a CF one (and it does till you get really close), Im gonna get the car sprayed so im just leaving it as it is for now.
  22. Welcome to the forum mate. I still do every day :D
