  1. Another South Easter! (I currently sitting at work in Bromley) :)

    Gearbox oil ?

I'm got some VAG fully synthetic gear oil in my new 'box and it's silky smooth.

Think we're now talking about two things. Originally we were on the big bit of trim around the handbrake which springs up and mis-aligns with the gearstick trim. Then we went onto something around the steering column :?:
  4. How does the price of Samco’s compare with the prices of kitting the engine bay out with original VAG hoses?
  5. Elite did my mates RX7 (before it blew up) and they've got a 4 wheel laser alignment rig. They're in Essex somewhere.

Mine's fecked too. The plastic nuts are a pain to get to and don't tighten up properly anyway. Bad VAG. :)
  7. Great site, easy to navigate and very informative. Also, T-Shirts for £3.99!!!
  8. I'll second the Alpine too. Always been very impressed. Bought a cheap and cheerful one for my gf's car not long ago for £130 and it sounds great.
  9. I'd get some 5.25 inch comps in the front with the tweeters in the dash. Amp them up and set the crossovers so that they don't get too much low freq stuff. A 5.25 inch cone is never going to much that much air so no point in flogging them with sub frequencies. Then I'd get a small 10 inch sub in a sealed enclosure. The JL Audio e-series stuff is very good budget kit with a great pedigree. Also make sure you get some Dynamat in the doors. A simple set up using quality kit is always going to be better than filling the car with speakers. :)
  10. awesome, great pics too
  11. That Clarion one doesn't come with a DVD player does it?
  12. Might even be your front engine mount.
  13. I bought a complete wiper mech complete with motor off corradowales the other day which you could have. pm if you like :)
  14. All "aftermarket" exhausts are counted as a "performance" mod so you should declare it unless it's an OE replacement. Adrian Flux are good with modded cars so there shouldn't be any probs there. As for choice of make and design, everybody has their own favourite so have a look here: http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... 77&start=0 This may not apply to a C but I bought a Magnex back box for my old car (which fitted perfectly). I then wanted to add a Magnex centre section later on when I had some more money but the Magnex mid section supplied when you buy a full system is not compatible with a back-box Magnex supply on its own. In short, I had to have a Longlife mid section made up which didn't sit right. As I said though, it might be different for a Corrado. I'd save up for a bit longer and get a complete stainless system all in one go. You may even liberate a few more horses too. A back box on it's own won't do much if anything for power gains. :)
  15. Make one out of MDF and cover it in carpet. I did this in my old car and it looked very neat.
  16. A fire extinguisher, a small torch and mini UK A to Z. And I bought a warning triangle and coolant additive from the stealers the other day. :)
  17. Temps above 100 aren't a cause for concern. Temps above 120 are though! Mine goes up to about 108 on the motorway at 80mph which isn't too much to worry about and I run a small cooler.
  18. Cheers stanbates, that is very cool. I just love the whole cartoon thing.
  19. I want leather now. All these interiors look mint. Found these trimmers online Precision trimming Stanley Trimmers Touch of Class Schaffino Leather L 4 Leather Moto Trim M J Interiors Carisma
  20. I thought there was a thread on this a while back. Contact john_wintle as he's an importer of Swissol stuff. It's not cheap but the finish on the paint after a Swissol session lasts for months. I had a flash red Polo years ago and it did the same. A clay bar will lift off tiny blobs of tar, sap and other contaminants. This will leave a super smooth finish onto which you should then apply the polish. I've got the cheapest Swissol wax (Onxy at £40 a tub) but I only have to polish my car two or three times a year. The tubs also last for ages so it works out quite cheap actually.
  21. Well the reception seems to have got better since I fiddled with the h/u but it's still not that great. My mates Mk4 Golf with a JVC h/u picks up all sorts of pirate stations on the way to work but as long as I can get a spot of Wogan in the morning I'm happy! I tend to be more of a CD man anyway! :x-mas:
