  1. My radio reception is a bit dodgy. It receives stations near to where I live although when I go more than 30 miles or so from where I live the reception goes and I'm unable to tune the radio to anything. I've got a quite nice 3 year old Alpine hu. and no matter how much I play with the auto/manual seek options it doesn't wanna play. Is this a hu. problem or an antenna issue? It's like it's become lazy! Any ideas?
  2. Looks great, similar ride height to mine on the same wheels. :)

    engine mods

Definately make sure the car's running good. Corrado's can really eat up money so make sure it's sound. There are some weak spots which Corrado's have such as rear brake calipers siezing and rear suspension bushes going hard and falling apart. Get someone who really knows their onions to look over the car. Better to take care of these things before you start to make it faster/lower/louder etc. Get the car down to G Werks or JMR and they can make sure you've got a sound base on which to build. :)
  4. Sounds ideal! Hope it sounds good. :)
  5. Nice avi Henny. I'd second the charger point. Mine was "stage 4'd" by Jabba but when JMR opened it up they hadn't replaced the exhaust end oil seal and the porting wasn't up to much either. A common problem with Jabba "rebuilds". A standard airbox would probably get you a few more ponies too. The std VAG airbox is pretty good. Also a ported manifold and downpipe or a 4-1 manifold would give you some more poke.
  6. Beat me to it (in a lot more detail!) :)
  7. You won't get an gains from an oil cooler. It just makes the engine run, well, a little cooler! :) G60's run hot when they're stock anyway so an oil cooler is the first thing you should do before thinking about any more tuning bits. Tidy looking car and engine bay BTW, the Borbet's look nice. Looks like you've got yourself a Jabba rebuilt charger there.
  8. Don't forget to use proper fuel line hose clamps rather than jubilee clips. Darren can supply these.
  9. aposegil: JMR did that for me, works a treat using the std airbox The problem with a 2nd air feed is space. Have a looksie here (nearer to the end of the topic): http://www.dubforce.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=3902
  10. g60greeny: Nope, lots of cars don't even have fogs anyway. aposegil: Apologies ;) Cult Society does them: http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... t=fog+vent
  11. It looks as though you'll get a better airflow with an RS style bumper although if you wanted to get a bit more airflow using the standard bumper you can do away with your fog lamps and put in two vents. I can't remember who does them though but you can colour code them and attach flexi hosing to the back of them to focus the airflow.
  12. My gf's got an MX5 and I've been driving lots recently whilst the Corrado's been off the road. It's absolutely great. The steering's pin sharp, the engine's fizzy and rev-hungry (although crying out for more oomph even though it's an 1800). The heater is immense and it's relatively frugal. It's a far livlier car to drive than the Corrado and of course the engine's mounted the right way round and it drives the correct wheels! And as it's Jap and common it's cheap to get bits for an very reliable. One thing to bear in mind if you're a girl and about 5 '2 " (like my gf) is that she doesn't like it too much with the headlights up and they make visibility less. I just feel like a bit of a plonker driving it as it's a "Berkeley" edition and it's bright turquoise!

    406 coupe

They look gorgeous, one of the nicest looking and understated cars on the road without going into big money territory.
  14. The fact that it's difficult to flash someone without actually turning on the highbeams. That bit of console trim that lifts up when you put the handbrake on and makes it all look a bit tatty. That fact that it has been solely responsible for all of my credit card debt and now I need a new gearbox but I still love it. Glutton for punishment or what!?
  15. stevemac: Every day's a school day! James sprinter: I'll be down there on Saturday with a bit of luck having mine set up. :)
  16. Looks really OE! £225's very cheap for an IC, is it an off the shelf job or a car specific one?
  17. Definately sounds like excessive negative camber. This happens when you lower it. As you're in Southhampton I'd get yourself down to Littlehampton Tyres as they have full laser alignment facilities, it's about £40 all in. They'll balance the wheels, check the toe, camber, castor etc. They also check the rear which is useful to know even if you can't adjust it!
  18. Ideally I'd buy VAG all the way but financially this isn't a luxury I always have! I would also get OE front bushes although the fact that you're planning some track time might mean poly's might be better. Sounds like a pretty comprehensive list. I've done pretty much what you've said over the past year (different dampers and springs though) and it's made the car feel a lot more surefooted. Some barely road legal track day tyres perhaps?
  19. I do know you have to have it done professionally so your car doesn't end up shaking itself to bits. G-Werks do lightened flywheels.
  20. Or spend the time at the G-Werks garage drinking their tea ;) My car's probably gonna be there soon whilst it's gearbox is sent away for a rebuild :(

    ICE options

If you're running more than 100 amps I'd go for 2gu cable and also beef up the ground to the same gauge.
