Sure you're not driving a G60?! The easy way to find out how many MPG you're doing is to fill it up, run it nearly dry and then divide that by how many gallons your tank holds (probably 12 if it's the same as a G60). My MFA shows about 3-5 MPG more than I actually get.

andy665's got a carbon scuttle panel which looks very nice indeed. You have to cut out a hole for the wiper motor yourself though. Apparently it's not too hard with a jigsaw. It's finishes off the engine bay a treat and you don't get hudreds of leaves collecting there.

24V Rensahw: Nope, the CV's are brand new. Darren, I'll give you a buzz. :)

It's a diff support bearing. I need a new or reconditioned or rebuilt gearbox. :(

Oh I don't think it'll be easy at all. I've had quite a bit of experience in doing installs in general but I've never tackled fibreglass as yet so I'm sure there will be lots of wasted resin and bad language. I'd love to have an Audioscape one but I can't afford the £100+. Perhaps some substantial birch ply might be better for the baffle. Would the Audioscape box accomodate a 12inch Diamond Audio CM3 sub?
-
I'm thinking of making a sub box at some point. The plan in my head is a 13mm MDF front and then shaping the rear with fibregalss to follow the contours on the side of the boot. We'll see though. A car which worked would be good at the moment.

Well that certainly looks like it gotta lotta pick up!

Would it be a bit like this?: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/trackdays/ ... ryId=12526

I'd reckon around £80 (if I had the cash) for a full day. Don't really know what the going rate is though
-
Cheers :) The car's not quite that clean at the moment! Pics were taken at the 'Pod The Astra next to me was a joke, proper Ripspeed pikey-mobile. I think it ran an 18 something. The Escort, however, was a tubbed spaceframe drag car with a hooj yank V8 running on methanol. No to be sniffed at!

Mine's down a bit more than 40mm I think on std BBS's, it's on coilovers so I don't know its exact drop:
-
I think ABS was standard on late G60's. However, as the cars are Karmann built you'll find there are no 2 Corrado's the same! (probably a bit of an exaggeration but you get the picture)

I'm planning to get mine RR'd at Surrey Rolling Road, probably in the new year so if you fancied meeting up there drop me a pm. :) I think it's £45 for a few runs.
-
Call the insurer. You might be surprised what they keep.
-
Rear brakes tend to sieze although it sounds like such a well maintained car anyway they've probably been upgraded to Mk3 or Mk 4 GTi items! :)
-
I think the Mk2 GTi has a great ride. It's firm but not crashy and well damped.
-
I'm now having it trailered down to John's so he can fix it properly. They wanted to machine down the CV joints. It was at this point that I said I'd just take it away! Hopefully this will mark the beginning of the end of the saga!

Mine normal sub box fits (kind of):

There's a very good RR in Farnborough which is quite near you. It's called Surrey Rolling Road. Google it and ye will find all.
-
You keep it on all year round, get one's that thermostatically operated, that way it'll ony be "on" when you need it. It's pretty easy to fit I'd imagine. Get a kit specifically designed for the G60 and then you'll know the hoses are the right length. Gain will be nil. In fact hotter cars actually make (marginally) more power. G60's run hot in standard tune anyway, the minute you start tuning them you really need an oil cooler. The Mk1 GTi came with an oil cooler but the G60 'Rado didn't. Doesn't make an awful lot of sense, VW bean counters at work methinks. It'll pave the way for further mods

Great roadtrip. I'm going on holiday to Fort William next year, I'm completely addicted to Scotland, the roads and scenery are awesome. I'd love to take the Corrado up some day (when it's actually working).

That's good news then! I had visions of having a "forum cat" which gets passed from member to member when it comes to MOT time!
-
Does this mean I'll have to go and buy a cat then just to get it through the test? My car runs very clean anyway so should pass emissions tests. Does this mean I'll have to find a "friendly" MOT'er?
-
They always stuck something up my exhaust ;) I got lots of reading on the test slip, I think one of them was CO?
