I think the quality of an alarm is more down to the expertise of the fitter than the actual box of tricks.

They're surprisingly fun those AX's. They do only weight 750kg! They're not 170 miles fun though!

Elephant and Bell Direct are all part of the Admiral Group :)

That Westie is gonna be special. It's going to have more carbon on it than an F1 car by the looks of it! Ray's credentials are certainly good! It sound like something to be done when you've spent all the money you're going to on hardware. You've got the FMIC and ported this and that so I suppose the time was ripe for you. Think I'll stick with my SNS for the moment! :)

Good stuff. Further to gibbers question above would I be correct in assuming that most of the expense is the time on the rollers rather than any fancy parts? Did john go down with you to Ray West's?

Shame than Oichan one is in Japanese, looks like quite a cool mod.

One of those articles goes on about the spoiler coming up lessening the Corrado's ability to drift owing to the increased downforce

I did kind of overlook that one!

Another Inka blue G60 owner, we're a rare breed y'know? If there's no evidence of a rebuild then definately get that done pronto or you could be having to replace an exploded supercharger which is about £800. Either JMR (07974 020031) or G-Werks are the chaps to go to and both have a good rep. They can also look over the car and give it a general health check, always a good idea if it's a recently purchased car that you don't know too much about. When I got mine, I took it to John (JMR) and he spent a whole Saturday afternoon looking over the car and wrote a report on exactly what needed to be done. I've dealt with JMR and G-Works though and they're both good outfits. Bear in mind though that John does this in his spare time so you'd have to leave a messgae on his answerphone probably if you call between 9 and 5. :) Up the Inkas!

Who takes their Corrado out on track? (or strip)
Neil VR6 replied to PhatVR6's topic in General Car Chat
I've done Santa Pod twice. It's a real laugh and doesn't put massive strain on the car like a track day would. I do keep my fingers crossed for the first to second syncro though! -
Shows what a full custom remap can do. I suspect John's quite pleased with those figs too?

Bit fussy for a C for my liking

I don't have heated seats or ABS

I haven't read all of this thread so forgive me if this ground has already been covered. If you're over 6 foot you won't fit in a Scirocco. My mate's got one and I have to crank my head to the side when I drive it. (I'm 6 foot 1ish)

OOO! OOO! I get this too! I'll switch the engine off and then it appears that the handbrake does a big guff. It kind of groans for a second or two and that's it. My mum's Alfa 75 used to do it but I put that down to Italian flair and poor electrics.

I'm running a Jabba chip at the moment and I'm swapping it for an SNS on Thursday. There's a lot of lag and hesitation with the Jabba chip.

I got my 2nd hand one from ebay for £17.50?
-
Glad you were OK. Kind of puts stuff into perspective when you walk away from something like that.

Are these ISV re-route kits any cop?: http://www.bahnbrenner.com/media/php/ca ... &catid=110

Well I'm going down on Thursday! :)

Yeah, it's just such a way to go for what should be something very simple and easy. "Was the garage that did the CV work non VW and just around the corner - i've been there to." ?? The garage that put the CV's on was a local to where I work place. (That I will never go to again)
-
Nope, clutch is old though. Don't know when it was last replaced? Could that be the problem?
-
Mmm, that would make sense if they were. I'll have to get back onto the garage that apparently "fixed" it.

Went out yesterday in the Rado and there was a weird vibration coming thorugh the steering wheel when you accelerate hard in 3rd and 4th. (New inner CV joint worked loose the other day and required a tow from the AA) I slowed down the pace a little and pulled into a nearbye garden centre. I had a look at the CV joint on the gearbox side (the only one you can see from the engine bay) and one of the feckin' bolts had worked it's way loose. When we got back from shopping, I went round to M&D's house and jacked it up and every single bolt which holds on the CV joints, both sides, we either loose or not done up very tightly at all. I don’t know if this would have caused the wobbling though? I reckon not. I also went to Kwik Fit (the only place open on a Sunday) to see if they could tighten up the bolts but they're not allowed to touch anything that isn't tyres and brakes. However, the unexpectedly helpful bloke there said that he doubts if its wheel balancing. Needless to say that in the difficult conditions of working under a car in cramped conditions I have rounded off about 4 bolts whilst tightening them up. Any ideas on the source of this wobble and why my CV joint insist on working loose? :( Corrado patience is wearing very thin at the moment :(

I think they look too big
