  1. The idea of scaring much bigger machinery on the motorway in a shopping cart is very appealing. Proper street sleeper.
  2. You might not need them reburbing. You can take the tyre off, rub the part of the wheel that is leaking with really fine emery paper or use a fine wire brush. This will ensure a good seal. It could be the adhesive left over from a previous tyre that was fitted which wasn't removed when your current tyres were fitted.
  3. Yeah  It's hard to find people that give genuinely good service these days and that go above and beyond what you ask or expect of them.

    Roll Cage

    MPS do them too
  5. Those wheels look mint.
  6. John doesn't have a site. He does have decades of experience with VW's though and what he doesn't know about G60's & Corrados isn't really worth knowing. He does a first class job.
  7. JMR does charger rebuilds. He did mine last week. pm 16VG60 or call him after 5 on 07974 020031. See suppliers section for feedback on him, great service. :)
  8. With car tuning if it looks too good to be true, it is! Like those flux capacitors (!) that makes your car run rich that they sell on ebay. What a load of old sh1te.
  9. Your 200 is lovely. I have the SXOC "cars for sale thread" as one of my favourites. I check it every day so see what's up for sale.
  10. Somewhere where the temperature doesn't fluctuate much I would imagine. Mantlepiece?
  11. I just got mine too. The clay bar is a bit of an arse to use as you really need to lube it up with that spray. ooer. However, it worked wonders on my bonnet and roof and provided a lump free substrate onto which I could apply the Swisol Onyx wax. The results were very good. I was in trouble with the g/f for spending too much time on the car though so I couldn't Clay Bar the sides and as such the polish was less effective there- lots of surface imperfections like sap etc. It makes removing the polish much harder. Still, it came up right nice, I just needed to use more elbow grease. The Onyx is not as easy to use as cheaper wax but the more you polish the better the shine becomes, the results are worth it and now I have a vice-like handshake. :)
  12. Well, I've had the tea but not the bacon sarnie. Must be for premium customers only. ;)

    JMR

Picked up the car on Saturday after having a G-Lader rebuild. Just as well as Jabba hadn't bothered to replace the exhaust end seal in the charger when they rebuilt it at 90K  . The ports were also "properly" stage 4'd. Had a few other bits done as well, new lambda probe, exhaust adjustment, cambelt, G-Lader drive belt. Also, John steam cleaned the engine bay for me and treated it to some Wurth stuff. The engine looks like new :thumbleft: Top service, top chap! :)
  14. My Longlife went back twice as it didn't fit. Guess it depends on the franchise that you go to.
  15. Thanks to JMC for my window switches. Sent them before I even sent the cheque!! :)
  16. Gulp, better start saving. Car's already cost nearly £700 this week. Oh well it "feels" like a good price considering what it is involved both in terms of parts and labour. I think it's at least 6 months off though. Bread and water from now on.
  17. That's very cheap!!! I wanted to change the ratios on mine too. Was that drive in one day and drive out another? Ie Did you have to just give them the gearbox?
  18. It certainly sounds like a good price to me. So all in assuming you take the car in and then drive it back out with a new clutch (and inner CV's in my case) you're probably looking at a grand?
  19. Pleased with my T1-S's :)
  20. Yup, unless you have it rebuilt at Jabba  I just had mine rebuilt at 116K for the second time. JMR did it this time but when Jabba had done it first at about 90K they didn't bother to replace the OE oil seals. Great. The charger will last longer than 100K providing it's properly serviced.
  21. I quite agree but it was probably developed 15 years ago wasn't it so might benefit from being nicely warmed up before you give the car any beans. However, just reading kev's mail has made me think that perhaps it's more critical to warm up G60's to 80 as whilst the engine may be hard as nails, the G-lader certainly isn't.
  22. But the oil that most of us use in our Corrado's is only semi-synth Syna stuff though?
  23. The gearbox in my G60 is getting on a bit now (116K miles) and will need something doing to it in the meduim term future. What have other people done in this situation? As far as I can see I can do any number of things: a) Source a second hand recon unit b) Have mine rebuilt by a gearbox specialist c) Keep mine in and source a cheap 2nd hand one and have that rebuilt thus cutting the off-road time for my car, then sell my old one as a project. What have other people done? Also, if the cost isn’t prohibitive could I make the ratios less ridiculous? 1st to 3rd are so short, too short for an engine which is quite torquey and could push wider spaced gears. Also I know that an ATB LSD would be ace but I think that’s a little out of financial reach. All ideas entertained!
  24. Sorry John, didn't even know Swissol did clay bars. Oh well, I'm sure the Mingers one will be OK.
