Need Name of Place selling German Style Plates at inters???
kerrinmay replied to rado-steve's topic in Suppliers Forum
Are these German Plates UK Road Legal? -
I used GAE at the end of last year, and Cornelius was still there then. The chap seems to know what he's doing, I was just put off by being smoked all over by his cigarette.
-
Unfortunately that's not the case with my head unit, needed a cable to plug in where the CD multichanger would connect, which I now have and it works great. The only left/right sockets I have on my head unit are for output not input.

I checked last night and there is no hole with grommet anywhere in my cubby hole! Was this just on the later spec dash? I really didn't want to have to drill any holes anywhere, but guess I'll have to now. Where exactly should this hole be? I'm guessing somewhere towards the back, for ease of dropping a cable through it.
-
Thanks. Just ordered the required cables, so hopefully might have them for the weekend and I can have a go! When I get in the car after work I'll have a look to see if I can find the grommet in the roof of the cubby hole. Would anyone be able to advise if it's nearer the back or the front of the cubby hole? P.S. I do try to be good and search before posting, but sometimes there are just so many threads to read through! Luckily not many people have written about this topic!

I just got a Creative Zen Micro for my birthday and am now looking to connect it up to my head unit. Should I just be able to drop the cable down and then route it through the grommet that is mentioned, or is there a special route that needs to be taken with having the heater controls etc in the way? FYI I have the earlier dash.

You really can't just slip mine quickly into 2nd, it has to be done slowly.
-
Just done a bit of a search and think that my cables definately need adjusting. golfg60, when you change into 2nd, does it feel like you are almost pressing down like you would to pop into reverse?
-
The couple of times that I noticed a slight noise (and I mean very slight, it wasn't like a major crunch or anything), was just after starting the car to go home after work. But 2nd gear never feels nice to change into. Had the gearbox oil changed a couple of months back (there is some discussion on my experience in another topic) but the garage just used the standard recommended gearbox oil rather than something like MT90, so seriously thinking about changing it again but putting in MT90.
-
Would be interested to know how you get on with the MT90 as my 2nd gear isn't feeling too well, always quite difficult to select and I'm sure that sometimes I hear a bit of a crunch from it.

Bought PVW yesterday. Really does your car justice, and nice to see a C that I recognise from here! As soon as I saw the plate - I knew I recognised it.
-
I'd say that my standard Corrado seats are the most comfortable car seats I've sat in - very supportive.
-
Do you have any problems with the height, considering you say the front is at it's highest setting? I guess that one of reasons I'm considering coilovers is for the adjustability and if I have problems with grounding etc then I'd be able to adjust it up higher. But if yours is actually already on it's highest for the front then I just want to be sure that it won't cause any/many problems!

What's the minimum drop you can achieve with the FK Highsport?
-
Scary...I've just checked the details for all the cars that I've ever owned on that site, and only the C and my previous car that my partner now owns are still licensed and on the road! My previous three cars haven't been licenced for a number of years. Quite sad really - my poor old VW Beetle hasn't been licensed for 6 years!
-
Sorry to ask the question about the FK Highsport, I've just done a search and can see that quite a few of you recommend them so will strongly consider getting a set of them now.
-
Just the springs. Best partnered with Koni TAs. I've yet to meet anyone that isn't happy with the ride comfort and reduction in height offered by the H&Rs, which is -35mm. These cars are for driving remember, not spending half your time on the road avoiding common obstacles. Thanks. Is 35mm significant enough so there isn't a huge gap anymore between the top of wheel and wheelarch? Do you have any pics showing your car with this drop so that I can see what sort of gap you are left with in the wheelarch?
-
Is anyone running with FK Highsport Coilovers? These state a drop of 50-80mm. Can anyone recommend them?
-
I imagine that North Wales isn't all that flat either - so that's quite reassuring if you don't have any real issues!
-
So with H&Rs am I looking at coilovers or just springs and then another manufacturers shocks? And what mm are the H&R springs that you recommend?
-
Don't suppose you happen to know what your C was lowered by to achieve each of the three different heights do you? Re: the 90mm spoiler - don't you have any problems with it grounding? Unfortunately (or fortunately) my C is my daily driver so it needs to still be semi-practical. Also can't decide whether to see if I can afford coilovers or just go for a fixed lowering kit. I don't really think I'm going to want to keep playing around with the height, but I don't want to go and buy a fixed lowering kit and then find I'm not happy with the ride height!
-
If it helps, I've got a 2.0 16v. Does the standard ride height differ much between the different models of Corrado?
-
That sounds like quite a drop! Is that what yours is dropped to? I had originally been thinking that I could get away with 40mm as I was planning to change my front spoiler from a 90mm to a 50mm and was hoping that I shouldn't have any problems with grounding the car or anything (occasionally my front spoiler catches the road when there are dips and things). Maybe I need to try and calculate how much my car might have sagged on it's original suspension and then work out where it will sit based on different lowering amounts. Any other views would be most welcome.
-
Ok then, what drop have you guys and girls got on your C's? If 40mm might not be that noticable then what drop should I be looking for?
-
Definately not bothered about passenger comfort, don't actually let anyone sit in the back, always use the excuse that the C is only a 2+2 and you can only sit in the back if you have no legs! I do like the look of the centre armrest though, so it's more for cosmetic and storage reasons that I'd like it. Am I right in thinking that you can store both your warning triangle and first aid kit in it? One in the arm rest and the other in the seat back behind it? Mind you if I got a rear seat with the armrest it would make it more awkward for the dog! He's only a small terrier but he's always fidgetting about, and it will make it less easy to protect the rear seat with his tartan doggie blanket thing as it will have to be arranged to go over the hump of the armrest....but I still want one.
