Thanks. I wonder if it's more a problem with my ignition switch than perhaps the starter motor itself then. I know the ignition switch is prone to problems having read a few posts on here. It seems then like the starter pinion is not remaining engaged with the key fully turned round. Anyone else experienced a similar problem?

When I start my 2.0 16v, should the starter motor continue to run all the time the ignition key is held in the starting position? I've always had problems starting the car since I've owned it - 4 years now, and it just dawned on me the other day that when I hear other people stuggling to start their cars you can generally hear the starter motor keep running whilst they try to start the car. On my Corrado the starter only seems to run for a split moment when you first turn the key, so you have to constantly switch it back and turn it again if I need to re-try.

Fitted new window glass for drivers side electric window yesterday after someone threw a stone through it at the weekend, but noticed this morning in the light that the glass isn't going quite all the way up. It's sitting over the seals but you can just get your finger nail above the glass towards the back of the car, so doesn't seem to be closing home in the top seal correctly. Do I need to try and adjust the bolts holding the bottom of the window to the mechanism to try and adjust this? Any other tips/advice?

Plus any idea on what this might cost?

Do all Corrado's have green tinted side windows? My drivers one was smashed yesterday and want to make sure I'm buying the correct replacement.

Just got car back from it's service and checked the tyre before ringing tyre shop to order replacement. It seems that when I last used the space saver the tyre shop (different one to what I normally prefer to use) put the space saver back in the boot and forced it down into the well without looking to see that a two ended prong was lying at the bottom and hence they punctured bm spare through the side wall! Also, I checked the size of my current space saver and it's actually 125 75 15, rather than being a 70, so that seems to differ from some other folks. Anyway I rang back my usual tyre shop to order the replacement and upon checking, they found that both the 70 and 75 were now discontinued (like I wasn't expecting to hear that!), and so they've ordered me a 125 80 15 which apparently Continental still make and should be fine as a spare.

I rang up my local independent tyre supplier and after quite a delay (I thought they must have been struggling to find me one) they rang back saying that they could get one in for tomorrow - and it's a Continental! I just want to double check the tyre when I get my car back from it's service later, and then I'll get them to order one for me and see if it turns up!
-
That's great. Many thanks for checking that out. Out of interest, is it a 'Continental'?
-
That will be great, thanks!

Thanks. I need to know the actual tyre size if you have it handy.

Can anyone tell me the size of the spacesaver tyre? I've got a 1992 2.0 16v and just been told that the spacesaver has a bit of metal in it and needs replacing! It's currently being serviced so can't go take a look at the size myself.

Can someone tell me what size the spacesaver tyre is? This is for a 1992 2.0 16v. I've just been told by the garage where it's being serviced that there is a nail in it and that I need a new one! Bit concerned by one of the posts that it might not be available any more!

Probably my Mum's Fiat 126. It was brand new though at the time - 'G' reg. Not the best car when you're 6'4" ! When my parents bought it, it was apparently the smallest and cheapest brand new car on the market!

Not been on forum properly for ages as have new seating area at work with people sat behind me  Can't believe you've got rid of the G60 Andy. It was a lovely looking car - and I loved the wheels. Really want some of those for my 16v. -

You can get the clear ones from halfords - and they are the correct ones. Exact same shape and fitment as the original orange.

Sticking Accelerator Pedal! ETKA part no.Request please.

No problem Andy. Glad I picked up on this topic of yours, as it was really starting to bug me on Monday, as it took me about 30 - 40 mins trying to get through Hindhead creeping along in very slow moving traffic! People must have thought I was a right pleb that couldn't drive! -

Car moves along fine if I take my foot off the accelerator, it's only when I press down on it lightly that it starts to surge! -

Interesting thread, was going to ask a similar question about mine. I'm finding that my C is very jumpy (after taking foot off the clutch) and trying to creep along in first gear. It's fine if I put my foot down on the accelerator to speed up, but just touching it lightly and it kangaroos all over - very embarrassing - people must think I can't drive  Thinking now that my best bet would be to replace the throttle cable. Is this easy to do? -
Really pleased you got that sorted, and that my suggestion was actually of use :D

Welcome to Corrado ownership! I'd be interested to know how you get on with your starting problems, as on my 2.0 16v, I've now changed, HT leads, distributor cap, rotor arm, fuel injectors, cold start valve/injector and it still doesn't start very well! Often needs a bit of throttle to get it idling. Having just read these posts though, when it goes in for it's service in a couple of weeks then I'll make sure they replace the fuel filter.

Phil K's old C and others - new German Coupe!

Guess you've got the 'Classic' ones then. I went with the 'Deluxe' which I really can't fault in anyway at all. I did consider going with green stitching around the edges to compliment the colour of my C but ended up going with the dark grey mats with lighter grey stitching. I decided against logo's though. Took me ages trying to decide what to go for, but justmatz were kind enough to send me through small samples of the different qualities, and then further samples of the different shades of grey, so I could make my mind up. Had mine well over a year now and they still look like new apart from a bit of wear on the drivers side heal pad. They really do make a huge difference to the inside of the car. Really smarten it up. -
Well when my speedo was up and down, so was the spoiler! I dread to think what people driving behind me were thinking with the spoiler going up and down all the time as I drove up the A3 to work!! In addition to this the other problem I got was that sometimes when I slowed down around town to navigate around roundabouts and junctions etc, if I went to change gear and the revs dropped, they kept dropping all the way to zero until it cut out - it wouldn't idle. This again was intermittant like the jumping speedo, but I hadn't even thought that the two were related. However upon changing this sensor, both problems were fixed!

One of the pics that you posted up Bally, looks like someone is trying to get their rado looking like an Alfa Romeo SZ!
