Yes I did buy the Beru leads and well I had a very quick look last night and I can definately get the ends off the new leads, so I can't foresee any problems with transferring the sensor from the old lead to the new. However, I'll either be trying it tonight or sometime at the weekend, so I'll be sure to post back here to let you know how I got on.

Looked at my new leads last night although didn't get time to fit them, and the end just pulls off rather than unscrewing. Hopefully I'll get time to fit them later today.

Just picked up my new Beru HT leads from the courier's depot. Couldn't remember how you guys said the end should come off - to allow me to slip that sensor thing on. Didn't want to break it so thought I'd better check back here and I see that you said it unscrews. I'll have a go later - hope it does unscrew!

I've got anthracite mats in mine with the light grey stitching and I think they look great. Goes well with my grey interior. I think you'll be pleased.

Thanks. Now that I've pretty much got my starting problems sorted out with new injectors (ordered new HT leads today - with the hope to make it even better), I'm going to try just starting it without pausing. Was actually surprised this morning when it fired straight away with hardly any cranking. Think it helped charging my battery up at the weekend, as after putting in the new injectors and starting it a few times, it was taking quite a bit of cranking to get going. I doubt it's ever going to start as nicely as my E36 coupe used to, but if I can get it as good as I can I'll be pleased. I've hated the crap starting ever since I got the C, so nice to finally have new injectors in place and for it to fire on all cylinders properly without having to touch the throttle.

When I start my C, should I turn the ignition on, wait for the pump to prime before turning the key further to start the car? Or is the priming quick enough to allow me to just pop the key in and turn all the way to start the car without pausing? Ever since I got my C (almost 2 years ago now) I've always turned the ignition on, waited, and then started. But is this really necessary? I've never had to do that in any other car that I've owned before.

Watch out for the cross-over model 2.0 16v's if you want the 'full' later spec. I've got one (early '92), and although it comes with the later body panels etc, the interior is still of the earlier style with regards to the switchgear etc.

So does anyone think that 54Ah isn't 'man' (or 'woman'!) enough for a 2.0 16v (or a G60)? What is the 'standard' Ah battery for the different models of Corrado? Somebody please tell me! As I want to get my new battery ordered!
-
Does yours start ok, or does it take a bit of cranking?

Worst thing some has said about ur Corrado

A lady at work said "I looked at buying one of those", so I presumed that she appreciated what it was, until some weeks later she refered to it as a "Golf"! -
I used to find my old E36 coupe used to swerve like that with just the slightest gust of wind sometimes - was such a difference when I got my C, with it being so stable. After it's swerved and you've corrected it, does it keep swerving?
-
So is 62Ah 'standard' for all Corrado's, or just the VR6? Is my 54Ah 'sub-standard'? Should I at least have a 62Ah?

Anyone...for advice on an appropriate battery for a 2.0 16v? Is my 54Ah too small an Ah? Should I go for a 74(ish) Ah? Or is that a bit pointless for a 16v?
-
Fitted my injectors yesterday, and although I wouldn't say it's like the difference between night and day, the C does now start much better, didn't need to use any revs, although did take a bit of cranking, so charging the battery up this afternoon. Having read another thread earlier about batteries, I'm now thinking that I should perhaps get a higher powered one as mine is only 54Ah. What Ah would you guys recommend for a 2.0 16v? In addition to the starting, the drive is much better. Previously I was getting a fair bit of hesitation, but now I can even pull away from 20mph in 4th gear and there is no hesitation at all, just slowly pulls away smoothly! So I'm well chuffed with the new injectors. The ones I took out looked quite shi**y actually.

Just charging up the battery for my 2.0 16v as thought it might help as takes a bit of cranking to start her, and noticed that it's only a 54Ah! Sounds very low having read the other posts in this thread. Should I consider a higher Ah? And which would you recommend for a 2.0 16v?

I do hope so! Can't wait!

Picked up my new injectors last night from GSF, so weather permitting, I'll try and get them fitted tomorrow! Been waiting soooo long for new injectors - hope I see some improvements and that it's been worth the wait!

Thanks for the advice, I do actually have a copy of that particular Haynes manual, so perhaps I should take another look in it!

My C seems to run fine at motorway speeds, so pleaseeee, any suggestions whether you think this could be my injectors? I've already replaced things like the distributor cap and rotor arm - although that was over a year ago now, but my C has never started well since I've had it, and I think that it's generally felt slightly hesitant around town too. Any advice would be most appreciated, otherwise I'm just going to go ahead and order new injectors! My C's almost done 100k now, and don't think it's ever had it's injectors replaced (I have all the receipts for everything dating back to the original owner), so even if it doesn't solve my starting problem I'd hope to see some improvement in the running. However, could old HT leads cause these sort of problems, or does the fact that it runs well at motorway speeds mean that the HT leads must be ok, as I'd imagine that if they were a bit iffy, they'd cause problems at all speeds - but please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm also thinking of replacing them anyway, although planning to replace the injectors first. Any advice would be most appreciated.

I changed my cold start valve/injector a couple of months ago in a hope to solve my starting problems - but it didn't. I'm now thinking about putting new injectors in. Is this likely to solve my problem, where it normally takes a few revs on starting to keep it running? Also, it had felt a bit jerky recently when driving around town - could this be shi**y injectors?
-
Hopefully the BERU ones unscrew (I'd hope so as they are listed for the 2.0 16v) - as will most likely go for a set of those based on the pricing. Can anyone confirm if the BERU ones do unscrew?
-
So how does it fit to the lead?
-
oh ok. So what's the sensor for? I'm guessing as per the previous responses that I'll probably need to transfer the sensor from my old set of leads.
-
They look quite well priced. Can you confirm if your's is a 2.0 or a 1.8? Is there actually a difference between the 1.8 and 2.0 16v leads? These ones seem to be the same for both engines.

Just rang the dealer and they want: £27.88 for each lead for cylinders 1 and 2 £18.61 for each lead for cylinders 3 and 4 £19.81 for the lead to the distributor Grand Total: £112.79!! Can't believe they want that much for stock leads!
