billinjah replied to Kevin Bacon's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
cheers kev what a chavtastic car thats gonna be! i trake it i can just tell audioscape what sub im going to run and they can work everything out from there? its a focal so im sure they will be familiar with it. what about the amp rack are you thinking of hiding the amps? or having them on display? -
lookin sweet as mate you gonna make that track day?

im still struggling with these damn strut mounts the collar that holds the strut top mounts on will not thread onto the strut i thought the threads were damaged but there not they look flat rather than pointed at their peak but im told they are supposed to be like that?? the nuts that hold the top cap on thread on fine and these are supposed to be the same thread. the collars were an absolute b**tard to get off in the first place ive checked and double checked the part numbers. the shocks are avo coilovers that were on the car when i brought it. do you have to heat the the collars up? i asked darren at gwerks about this and he thought the collars must be wrong but there the right ones for a g60 are the vr6 ones different? in case someone has put vr6 shocks on my ride! any help would be so much appreciated as ive had the car off the road for a week because of a jpb that should take 10 mins!!!!!

yup front shock mounts does it feel like the outside wheel 'tucks' in when entering a corner or any change in direction when you accelerate hard?
-
funny as doesnt this feed into catchtank when you remove the boost return didnt think a split would cause any problems?
-
im also thinking of doing the same but i know what im like id get a golf or a scirroco and then id start spending money on it! then theres a mk1 golf rolling project get one for about a grand sort the rado to a state im happy with then drive the rado and do the same with the golf easy im then left with my two favourite vw's in mint condition! yeah right like it'll work like that!
-
not absolutely kevhaywire made a similar setup with a coke bottle iirc but they only cost a fiver for 2 so its probably worth it
-

the thread is shot it should screw on easily but i think there was some debris stuck in there from when he hit it with a hammer to get it on! i saved the threads on the shaft with a chase. oh well its a trip to gsf on monday thats a good price for a special tool i take it you do the tube nuts too?
-
cheers for the offer steve wish id read that first i started today but one of the tube nuts was knackered i took ages to get it off! now i cant get one till monday doh! what does the proper tool look like? as i dont want to bodge it on like the previous owner! it looked like hed put it on with his teeth!

thats great cant wait to get my system in ive got a polyglass sub and a 4 channel genesis amp to run everything gonna sound so sweet! the amp rack idea are you looking at having one so you can see your amps? now ive spent all that cash on a genesis dont want to hide it away! -
does anyone know where its gone if not does anyone know if i need spring compressors im just changing the rubber piece with the bearing init not the spring plate as ive got coilovers iirc there is a nunt that holds the spring cap on so i shouldnt need compressors.

my audi a4 mists up really bad always has my corrado isnt too bad but even the new cars i drive at work do it to a degree its just the time of year you could always put a moisture trap in the car they do them for caravans work well too.

kev you got any pics of the design of amp rack were talking about? also just a quick q about your system do you also not run rear speakers? i take that if not then you must run your front components off 4 channels? oh and if your thinking a list of interested parties and requirements ill be putting an 11" focal polyglass 27 V2 sub in my enlosure. -
cool ill check that is the lamda on the down pipe and does its loom plug into the ecu?
-
Hmmm ive replaced the plug leads anyother ideas it only happens when its very wet
