Mike Edwards, any idea how much the shims change the alignement by? Ive a bit too much toe out at the back right and could probably do with some.
-
Just realised I read the sheet wrong, its -1degree 42minutes so my cambers set about -1.7 degrees if ive got this right.
-
Anyone got any other ideas?

Or use this link if youve got the std code: http://www.brainstorm.co.uk/uk_std_code_search.htm

Personally I wouldnt bother with Red Letter Day as there is a large mark up on them. Find out what you want to do then go direct to one of the tracks that do it, cut out the middle man. (My work accepts some of the Red Letter Day vouchers so I know what they add on.)

A bit extra camber does wonders for the handling at the expense of tyre wear. Ive just had mine set to -1o50

If its ride quality and a lower car you want theres not really any difference between good coilovers and a good damper/spring combo. Coilovers have the advantage that height can be changed to exactly how you want it to sit, or what I bought them for, so the car can be corner weighted to further improve handling. One thing not to do though is buy cheap coilovers, your better off getting a good make damper/spring combo for similar money. You wont go wrong with Koni, FK, H&R

Remember the highline engine bay will have a few other differences as it has the OBDII management.

Agreed on price, was worth a shot though.

Just checked, its at -1.5 Not too wild but considering the roll on standard shocks and the camber at 1.2, 1.5 with lowered uprated suspension and uprated arb's should be superb. Straight line stability doesnt feel too much different at first, until I hit the accelerator, then the car just goes dead straight. In corners as well it feels a lot more stable with the foot down, a lot of this is down to the diff but theres a definate improvement with the new settings. The tyre wear issue comes more from the scrubbing with the toe out I reckon, if you drive enthusiastically then chances are your tyres are wearing the outer edge a bit more than the inner edge anyway, so the camber will help compensate. Thats what im hoping for anyway.

Nice one, could be one of them on the list then. Not wanting to go OT but did you ever get a reply back about possible oil cooler GB?

Eibachs are a kit for £235ish Neuspeeds are about £140 + VAT each.
-
0.5 degrees toe out and it was either 1.5 or 1.7 degrees negative camber it was set too. For standard arb's the camber could be taken a bit further but I went for this spec as I know ill get the uprated ones on soon. 8)

At John's prices though I could sell the VT mount and make some of my money back. 8)
-
Ah well, no arb fitted today, it takes about 3 weeks to get the Neuspeed ones in. After a talk with Jim at Star P ive decided to go for the Eibachs. There cheaper, will be here in a few days, are zero maintenance and Jim reckons there would be no difference between an Eibach or Neuspeed equipped car. Even if they are a touch softer it will probably be better for about here anyway. 8) Got my alignement setup to a slightly more aggresive spec though  , well recommended if your not too worried about tyre wear.

Any plans for a vr6 mount?
-
Seen 2 Corrados today, got a headlight flash from a white one just as I nearing Star P early this morning. Second one was a VR6 that got left at Star P, dark colour, private D reg, 17's. I was waiting in a Golf while my C was being serviced. Anyone?

The torque curve may be dropping off after 5500rpm but the torque at the wheels near the limiter in 2nd will likely be higher than the torque at the wheels at any point in the rev range in 3rd, even with the Schrick.
-
Im sure I read that on later cars the limit is 6250ish and early cars its 6750ish. Why not? :?
-
I priced them from Awesome and Star Performance, Star were cheaper though I cant remember the prices right now. I believe Stealth also sell them.
-
I thought it was the top speed. :-P

Am I the only person with mk4 calipers that still has to lift the handbrake pretty high. It works fine, just a lot of travel and no apparent slack in the cables.
-
