Could this be a BP Ultimate thing? I got this for the very first time last night after filling up with Ultimate a few days ago. :?

Depending on the rolling road them figures may be nothing to worry about. On one rolling road in aberdeen my car made 165 at the wheels. First time I took it to Star Performance it was 152.5 at the wheels and 205 flywheel. Second time at Star P it was 144 wheels, 199.5 flywheel. There was a standard 2.8 vr6 golf there that made 190+bhp as well, there like Corrados in that some engines make more power than they should, and some struggle to hit factory figures. Theres probably nowt wrong with your engine.

I like them. 8) Im so tempted to get my spare speedlines done in that finish.

:shock: I think thats the first ive ever heard that. People are usually saying there too hard. I thought they were fine when I had them on, though even with a vr6 they sat a bit high at the front.

Konis from TSR, £699 and about £12 next day delivery. I was tempted by the H&R's but there only adjustable for height and not damping.

Ive played the demo on xbox, its pretty disapointing to be honest. I dont think even a Corrado can save it.

Dunno, will try it tommorow. Whirring noise is probably a bad description. Its more like the sort of noise id expect if there was a flatspot on the tyre where its a sort of small thud once every revolution. My tyre does look in pretty bad shape so first thing ill try is a different wheel and ill give the full lock thing a go.

Heading back from Knockhill last night and noticed a sort of whirring noise coming from the front left, it speeds up as the car speeds up, not engine related, it also gets worse under braking. Cars also pulling to the left a bit and it seems to be getting worse. Im thinking probably wheel bearing, cv joint or maybe even a warped disk? Not sure on the disk though as the noise is there all the time and a vibration can be felt through the footwell, not just the brake pedal. Any ideas?

I noticed this on the way back from Knockhill last night. First thing im gonnae try is my spare front wheels in case its due to the way the tyres have worn.

If the running problems started at the same time the fuel gauge gave up then yeah, id say the in tank pump has problems. Other things to check are vacuum pipes for leaks, especially the ones right behind the airbox, could try cleaning the isv and as Roddy says the fuel filter, always worth changing that on a 16v anyway if you dont know when it was last done.

Sounds to me like its the lift pump in the tank thats died which means the pump under the car will be struggling to suck the petrol out of the tank causing the buzzing. If its the main pump that failed then I doubt the car would run at all. This is good as the in-tank pump is cheaper. 92 degrees on the oil temp sounds about right, I wouldnt worry about that at all.

CIS inline in addition to the standard in tank pump? So im as well sticking with standard for now then? Whats a FMU?

Just got my car going again with a used fuel pump, but im looking to change it again soon. Is it worth getting an uprated one? Also consider I may supercharge at some point in the future. What sort of bhp is the standard pump good for? VW pump is about £105 but FSE do an uprated one for £115, so what do you think?

What settings is everyone using on the above? Im looking for turns on the damping adjustment and gap from centre of wheel to arch.

I know what you mean, it does seem strange. Mine lost about 50bhp through the drivetrain on the same day.
