Woohoo, car back today after being out of action for about 3 weeks. Quaife diff now fitted with a new clutch and got it on the rollers. 205bhp to DIN 70020 :D 152.5BHP at the wheels. (Jim at Star seemed ver impressed with this, considering the engine is standard except filter and exaust.) 193lbf-ft Running on a mix of Optimax and standard Unleaded.

I think its common to get the coil packs failing on the 20vt. Dont know if you will have them though depending on what management system was used in the conversion.
-
Mine done that from when I bought my car. 6 months and 5000miles later the clutch started slipping. Best price I got was £235 fitted from Star Performance, im getting a Quaiffe diff fitted as well though so the final bill will be quite a bit more. Should get my car back within the next few days. :D

Mine is exactly the same as yours. 8)

One thing ive noticed is that even though vw are putting the new wipers on the front of there cars now, there still using normal ones on the rear. this forum is the only place ive seen them on the back. 8)

If your at the other side of Glasgow theres In Tune in Maryhill and Caruth in Whiteinch. Ive used Caruth in the past, think it was about £40 for the diagnostics.
-
Heres a decent pic of the car, I had them sideskirts on my 16v, they look a lot better up close.
-
Yea, but yours is magic. Im still waiting to see your engine bay pics.

They probably are different, earlier cars had a deeper boot because of the smaller petrol tank so the side carpets would have to be bigger.

dubbprince, if u find a way, let me know. Ive tried all the running it in w95 compatibility and stuff and ran the hardlock.exe file but no luck. :( Apparently its easier to get working if you dont have xp, but the pc I have on Windows Me cant get to a high enough screen res.

Heres a list of the vids I have from the day. Best way to get them will likely be through msn so ive included the file sizes so that if you havent got broadband you can decide wether there worth waiting for or not. biggrim........................5.63mb danger mouse..............10.6mb red vr6 (Sda2489?)......3.24mb struan.........................4.63mb golf limited..................22mb I did hope to get more than that but I didnt get there to a bit later on.

Ive got vr6paul's 210bhp (mods, exaust and filter, same as me) to beat. :? Cant see that happening somehow. :(

Yeah, good to meet everyone again. Still gutted I couldnt get my car on but at least it got me there ok. The Alfa we brought with us for a replacement was down on power as well. :( KARMANN, Was that yourself with the red 16v? Highlight for me was a shot of ess threes mk3 gti, thanks again Glen. Highest of the day i think was Struans at 245bhp, with a bit of black smoke so probably more to come from the g60. Got a good digi vid of it as well that I just need to compress. -

Very nice, same interior as mine 8) even down to the fuse box tray not staying where it should.

Origin B2 for £349 would be my choice, im sure they are about £429 everywhere else.
-
MK2 blower is the same but the resistor pack on it is different, its easy to swap them over though.
-
I remember you warning me about the exact same thing when I was looking at my vr Roddy. Yes, I get it as well as its only 2 miles to work and with the colder weather the engine isnt warming up as quick so the mayo appears.

There variable due to the way they work. Check the off the road link in my sig. My quaife is in star performance waiting to be fitted. :D
