  1. Just read it again myself to check, with the caliper moved out the way, its just a case of taking out the retaining screw in the disk and it should remove easily. The screw doesnt always come out easily though, I had to drill them on my 16v. I also notice from that it says to use a clamp to push the piston back pushing the fluid back into the reservoir. I dont think you can do this on abs equipped cars as it can knacker the seals or something in the abs pump. :? You need to loosen the bleed valves when pushing the piston back so the fluid drains out from them.

My vr managed 104k, my 16v was on about 117k and I think it was still the original when I sold it.

    Brake upgrade

Im pretty sure all you need are the calipers, carriers, disks and pads so its fairly easy upgrade. The vr6 uses 280mm brakes as well but I dont know if the calipers and carriers are the same as g60 ones, anyone else know. :?
  12. Standard looking 2.0 16v in Edinburgh today, erm, round the corner from a post office, not too far from the Dreghorn cutoff. Reg was somethin like M898 PHP, and it was a dark colour, possibly dragon green.
  13. Heres an article I have saved on the Campaign with some more info.

    VR6 ECU Number

They probably have different chips for vr's depending on if they have a distributor or coilpack.
  15. Yeah, ford use the vr6 in the galaxy so some vr6 parts can be bought cheaply from them, doesnt help with the 16v though.
  16. Problem is duncanthemad has a 16v, that breather assembley is for the vr6.
  17. Yeah, the relays are behind the rear passenger side panel and as the seats get up to temp you can hear the relay clicking on and off.

    20v turbo

A lot of the 1.8t's have the clocks coded to the ecu so if you dont have them fitted from the same car it wont start.
  19. Just noticed you have tried the standard wheels again, its probably something else then.
  20. It could have been a coincedence that it came loose when u changed the wheels, have u tried going back to standard wheels since the problem started? Its just the symptoms sound exactly like what I had on my 16v, it may even be possible that it was loose before and the bigger wheels, lower profile tyres exagerate the problem, not sure on that though. If it is loose then cut it off with an angle grinder, it looks like a rubber donut round the driveshaft but its steel inside.
  21. Possibly the vibration dampener on the drivers side driveshaft has come loose. Look for a donut shaped block on the driveshaft and see if its secure, if not cut it off.
  22. Thats the same steering wheel that was on my 16v as well, I think all the later c's got that one unless they were a vr6 or had leather then they got the one pictured further up.
  23. J a m e s, Nice rado in that pic  , thats the vr leather rimmed steering wheel.
