Sounds good, so what we lookin at for Bothwell, 10.30 ish?

Anyone know if theres a way of testing this without vag com, could I unplug it and put a multimeter across the terminals to check its got a fluctuating reading? What about just unplugging then driving the car, if theres no difference then its gubbed, if theres a drop in performance then its fine.

Definately from a headlamp switch, ive got an old one sitting in front of me just now and its exactly the same.

Anyone know how to remove the door panel on a 16v 1.8?

Inside the speaker enclosure its at the front edge, run your finger round the rim and u should find it. -
Throttle icing? Id sort of forgot about this thread, no one had replied so thought it probably wasnt worthwhile. May give it a go at some point, probably when I get round to removing the carbon can.

Just curious, but why cant the 2.9 be taken out to 3.1 like the 2.8 can. I thought they were the same block apart from the bore. Hasnt Niko took his 2.9 out to 3.1?

On the right hand side of the engine with the 6 spark plug leads going into it.

Highly recomended, if theres a problem with your car, im sure they will figure it out.
-
To be honest, it doesnt completely sound like the vibration dampener to me, when mine was loose I noticed it more under braking from high speed. Its definately something worth checking though.
-
Sounds spot on, if its in mint condition then go for it. Maybe offer £6800 or and see what they say.
-
Only thing I can think of at the moment is the vibration dampener on the driveshaft. Looks like a big rubber donut, if its not attached right and you can slide it on the driveshaft by hand then cut it off.

£8500 is expensive for a C but that is a very low mileage. The Storm came in 2 special paint codes, green with cream leather or Mystic Blue with black leather. The green was also available on early vr6's but the blue is storm exclusive. They also came with different alloys but that doesnt apply here. The storm is also one insurance group higher.

If thats what the problem is then, depending how bad the cracks are, it can be fixed with epoxy resin. A new one is about £180 I think although im sure there was one in parts for sale for £50. Not sure on fitting although I think its straightforward enough.

Could be a crack on the coil pack, what year is your car? N reg if I remember right? Wait till its darkish and get one of them mist spray bottles full of water. Run your engine then spray it in the area of the coil pack area and look for arcing.

Dont know if im just paranoid after all the probs I had with my 16v, but mines feels down on power. Maybe ive just got used to it.

Can put me down as an interested, ill try to give a definate answer for the end of the week.

Are u expecting longevity problems?

Ok, so theres only 2 pipes going to the carbon can, one is a fuel tank breather that can just be unhooked and put out the way. The other is the crank case breather and should have a filter put on it. Anything else?
-
Thats the canister, all I think it does is take the fumes out of the air that comes from the breather pipes then put it back into the system some how. Im wanting to move it for an air feed as well.

Ive seen a lot on the vortex about this, basicaly its a case of removing the two coolant pipes that go to the throttle body and joining them together. This has the effect of the coolant not heating the throttle body meaning slightly cooler air to the engine giving a small, but noticable power increase. Anyone tried it? Im tempted to give it a go but want to hear if anyone has heard anything negative on this first.
-
I know theres a big thread on this for the g60, but hows it done on the vr6. I take it if I relocate it its just a case of finding somewhere to mount it and extend the pipes, but what about removal, what does each pipe do?
-
Think they just had too bed in a bit more, now I have no complaints. For the price I think I would definately get them again.

Too many good roads too choose from up your way Sandy, sometimes when im out for a drive I head up past the Balloch bypass towards Ardlui, Crainlaroch then on to Stirling before heading back to Glasgow through Milngavie. So anyone gonnae take there C on track?

Just got the receipt out now, the vibratechnics front mount is £120 and the standard rear mount is £65 (I think this came from vw so u may be able to get it cheaper.) I think this is without vat added on. I would probably have had a go changing them myself but I had other stuff getting done at the same time so it was 4 and a half hours labour. Dont know how much of this time was for the mounts though.
