  1. I suppose its like the 12v vr and the 24v one. The 12v is a lot more warbly, where as the 24v has more of a smoother rasp - if you know what I mean?
  2. Mr VR Banana is the person to talk to regarding the VR/S2 debate. He had an all but standard VR corrado, and his brother had a standard S2. They used to do track days regularly. I am not sure if there was much in it between them to be honest.
  3. its not a hard thing actually. You will need the 4motion brake switch as it has a dual circuit on it, but what you can do is take the corrado brake switch and fit it into the clutch pedal. No welding needed for that as there is already a hole there for it believe it or not!!! you will have to file a couple of notches in the hole so the switch fits and locks in place but its not a biggy.
  4. yeah its in there Dutcho, with the brake pedal switch. The ecu needs to know when the car is braking too. pics...um...here you go:
  5. I have the clutch switch in mine. so ner ner ne nerr nerr! the ecu uses it for various things, including holding the revs a touch when you are going through the gears. It would be better to fit it than not.
  6. that fuse is not blown mav, and the other stuff appears to be an alarm of some description
  7. my mates running megasquirt on his black top zetec and I am certain that is sequential injection. Cos we were pissing about with it seeing what the effects were.
  8. dunno whether I mentioned it before on this thread(cant be arsed to look through it) but my 1.8T had tdi ratios and it was perfect. suited the character of the engine perfectly. I stuck a 6 speed box in it and ruined it as a road car imo. tdi gears are a good move with the torque spread you have - third gear will waste everything!
  9. you can buy sticky pads for that specific purpose which work well. You can also buy a really fine comb that you can take them out with
  10. I can vouch for the 2 years thing......bastards
  11. I am going to phone them up and make them give me no claims as I have been driving a company car for years now. My dad did this - he hadnt had an insurance policy for years he got a letter from the company saying how cool he was and hasnt crashed at all, and they enstated him with full no claims!!! what a bastard.

  16. bit steamy in the cabin there, what you been up to? ;)
  17. not needed mate but thanks anyway. I was basically trying to do something that is pretty much impossible when still on the drive shaft. I pulled it off tonight and rebuilt the annoying little sh't in about 4 minutes, then fitted it back again in another 5. And the moral is, dont try and cut corners, it only adds time onto the job when you realise it doesnt work.
  18. thanks for that chris, i will bear it in mind...
  19. well.........I have just dropped the biggest knacker in the history of very big knackers. I went to insure my car today, as my 4 years no claims was about to expire, got a reasonable quote of 630 quid from adrian flux, did the deal, then just realised my no claims expired last month...... FECK they now want 1050 quid....
