The thread about G-werks closure on E38 was locked due to insensitive comments. I am aware that a number of people felt the service they received over the years was not great, however of the very few threads that were started about issues the majority ended well, with situations rectified where possible. A very good friend of mine has lost his business. We spoke on the day it all happened and Darren is more than aware that he's let people down. I wish people understood that any of us could loose our jobs/business in this climate and flippant remarks are not helpful to anyone.

Breaking Storm- Inc Beige Leather Interior
bristolbaron replied to 8vMatt's topic in Cars for Breaking
Heated leather including door cards, Liamtg60 has first refusal on all beige interior. Once I know what is or isn't wanted it will be available for the forum. Front seats are in a good condition with only very minor bolster rub. Rears are unmarked. Door cards are good bar a couple of small issues. Passenger front has slight impact damage from the crash. Canbe repaired easily and its covered by the speaker pod anyway. Slight colour rub also on the same doorcard. Beige headlining, great condition. Sunroof lining and sunroof trim. I guess collection is better but might be able to post at your risk. £40 plus postage if needed. Beige sunvisors, great condition £30 posted. Beige Sunroof switch panel, great condition £20 Let me know about the above.. Could do with all of it.. -
defo go for it.. they'll still be worth good money as a trimmed set of golf recaros once you're done with them and you'll keep the miles off your seats..

It's really not just a case of it being just the box, but it's the first link of a bigger picture. The car is very tatty, has a rusty chassis, has 220k on the clock, needs the cam belt and cam to cam chain replacing and mot runs out next month.. The sensible thing would be to break, however a friend is looking at salvaging it using the boxes we have between us. Will talk to him about using just the g60 box first.. What difference will there be in drive?
-
If the box can't be replaced with one of the above the cars likely to be broken.. It's at the stage where its really not worth keeping, but trying to if poss!

Cheers bud.. What would be the best options? Mix of vr and 8v gears in g60 housing?
-
My 16v has successfully died. I need to put a new gearbox in it, and have a few options available.. Golf 2.8 VR6 box MK2 8v GTI box Rado G60 box Will any of these fit straight onto a 2.0 9a? Cheers then.

Southern convoy to stealth rolling road day...
bristolbaron replied to OllieVR6's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
For anyone coming from the south west: CLICK HERE! This is an awesome route and one we took a few years ago. Cross country all the way with some cracking high speed bits and decent corners. Perhaps worth doing separate south west/south east threads? Baz -
i thought the clear ones were from an old 3 series? e30 perhaps?

Moving on, 7 years of Corrado ownership coming to an end....
bristolbaron replied to andy's topic in General Car Chat
Bad timing.. A storm grey VR is exactly what I want to retire to as a weekend car. I'm going through my last silly phase at the moment, but can tell already this car will be going up for sale next year. Once it's gone I'll be on the lookout for what you have, without doubt. Nice choice on the BM.. a bit sensible, but thats okay. Baz -
G60.. what's it worth?.. Now Bristolbarons Gallery!

Well it really is coming to an end :( there's now a breaking thread for this car. I'm very sad that it's going - more so than when I sold it. However, others will stay on the road because of it, so I'll look at the positives. :( http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?58967 -
Car now gone see link in 1st post for new thread
bristolbaron replied to P3rks's topic in Cars for Breaking
Hi Everyone.. Before this goes even further into a 'don't break it' thread I want to add my 2p's worth, as it was originally my car. I bought the car in 2005 and my build thread can be found HERE Rich bought the car from me earlier this year, with big plans for it. I'd owned it for 6 years and from the thread you can see i turned it from a sorry state to a trophy winner. When I sold it, I knew the car was worth more in parts because of what I spent on it, however I wanted it to stay complete. Rich bought it aware of the rust around the windscreen [probably due to insurance paint job] however we were both unaware of the other issues body wise. Knowing what he knows now, and with the misfortune of spending the extra he has on engine work, I definitely would have broken it. He was good enough to have contacted me before this thread went up so it wasn't a surprise the car was coming to an end. What I'm trying to say is the decision is logical, and with the time, money and effort that I've put into it, if I don't resent it then no one else should. I'm very sad this car is coming to an end, but if it can help keep others on the road then that's as good as it's gonna get :( Baz -
