    G60 Interiors

IIRC A20 LEE has a beige/tan alcantara headliner 8) and Tom Ingram had a blue alcantara headliner in his supercharged VR both IIRC were done by MJ-Interiors
  2. keep it near standard looking and subtle mods are the way
  3. yeah give meself a Goldie!! :-P
  4. IIRC very few of them are manuals bulk of em are tiptronic type boxes......i actually think they're quite a nice looking Jap-coupe  ........
  5. if only it were that simple  ....................hope you have an angle grinder  ...........btw the jetta synchro is quite a rare beast indeed

    sensor?

might be the infamous ignition switch  .......if you do a search using ignition switch and problems you should find some hopefully useful info

ahhhhh........anyway had a look on the net and this is what i found  http://www.maxpower.co.uk/car/history_t ... ticle=2117 ..............nice write up from MAX-POWER too  ..............i assume you've seen his work in the flesh? the way you rave about it
  10. well i'll move this into the "common corrado question" section then......as at least you've seen sense and are keeping it
  11. My mate has the Recaros in his Cupra R but they're not 2 seats at the back, just matched cloth. Corrado style seats were not an option as far as we could tell when we orderd the car. K mind tho kev.....Nige is in sunnier climes so could well be a spanish market option  .......seem to recall something in maybe an old SEAT concept car like that tho
  12. tbh i wouldn't ask more than £7.5k for my 95N(december) 64k mile FVWSH classic green storm so asking £7k for an older slightly higher mileage (albeit very original sounding) lower spec VR is a bit steep(not too much dog's abuse there for you  ).......ok mine isn't standard anymore but its just really coilovers and an exhaust thats the main differences between our C's( we both are the 2nd owners  ).......i would say a more accurate price is £6.5k max and be happy enough with £6k even.............but as they are getting rarer you never know.......
  13. ^^^Spot the G60 owner^^^
  14. even the bonnet is non-standard
  15. 3dr whaletails rock!!!! 8) ...........ok ok so i also like allegro's but 3dr cossies still do it for me and an Escort cosworth is probably one of the few cars that would tempt me out of my C.............and considering they(Escort cossies) must have been built side by side at Karmann with our beloved C's they cant be that bad  anyway glad that the scum have been caught and the guys whaletail is intact
  16. if the log-book has been stolen then surely he must have had a replacement one by now :? ........unless he means the service record book is missing......which could tie in with the suspiciously low-ish miles.....though if you get the chassis number(and number plate too) you can phone VW 's customer services and they will tell you when it was last in a VW dealer getting serviced and also what mileage it was showing(NB sometimes if its had a plate swap it might not show with the number plate but it should show with the chassis number) tbh it sounds a bit sketchy to me........but at the same time worth following up as for mileage it all really depends on how they have been looked after...........if i were you go look at it if the info from VW is good but budget on an HPI check and also have it inspected by either a VW dealer or better still a good reputable VW specialist  also ive heard ppl refer to the ecu as the "computer" before so maybe its had a new ecu or more probably as you say *mod edit - removed your double post - Henny * :-P
  17. looking good OSV 8) .........so come on what did that sting ya???

  19. oh dear kev.........looks like may 8th and 9th this year might be a good idea to book your hols abroad for that weekend  :-P :-P :-P
  20. u could always try and get your local bodyshop to do a "localised" repair to it...........should only cost around £200-ish at the most........and they should be able to mix your paint up too........even though VW have discontinued it
  21. i'll move this into "general car chat".....as its more a series of ideas re tuning and modding your C

hmm if its a guy from the early 90's who did a 5GT turbo then i have seen his work........IIRC i wasn't too struck by it.......but can't be 100% sure if it was the same guy

hmmmm i think most of the ppl who have used MJ-interiors would disagree with you there  .........and also having seen their work and their workshop and the quality of ess_three's work done in his mk3 i think there would be very few re-trimmers able to compete on quality.......just my 2pence spent
  25. much as you dont want to hear this but i reckon its had to have the bonnet and probably the front-end replaced at some time and given that up til recently the huge costs of C body panels and the fact that the VR style aka the 92> bonnet was a fair bit heavier than the early one(so would more than likely be a fair bit dearer than the early bonnet) i reckon thats why your C has the early front-end....its probably been repaired using the cheaper bonnet and bumper.....afterall if it was fixed without going through insurance it would be a fair bit cheaper and easier sourcing the earlier parts.......ALL 2.0 16v's should have the 92 exterior facelift.......early 2.0 16v's that can be found with the early interior have the late Front-end treatment.........thats the only explanation that i reckon is likely.......even having had panels replaced though Glenn its still doesnt make it a bad C if it drives good and looks decent enough which yours by the sounds of it does then its only just minor cosmetic details.........i would reckon that there are more C's out there that have had paint than havent
