  1. looking good!!!...........big fan of the azev-a's too 8)
  2. ahh the joys of sarcasm
  3. the cheapest i priced up an original VW front wing was £140+vat It's the rear arch that's dented Rodders....which is part of the whole rear quarter panel, and is double skinned to add to the fun! I had a new rear quarter panel put on my MK2 after some dozy twot decided to drive into me. The panel alone, for a MK2, was £350 from VW (I insisted on VW metal only) and labour, paint, plastics and sundries came to £1250. Luckily it was an agreed value ins job! If your dent is a small one, it'll be hammered out and filled but if there is a crease that cannot be removed by normal remedial methods, bargain on a new rear quarter for a proper job. If you ever see your car having a rear quarter being removed....you'll cry :( K ahem kev  .................too much sherries over new year matey?
  4. Storm so group 19  ......34 year-old 3points full NCD protected all mods declared  ........£700 Fully comp
  5. Actually no. The early VR6s only had ABS with traction control as an option. There is a difference (i) the brain (ii) the ABS loom heads to the brain and the pump (iii) and the pump take off points - there are two instead of one. The Storms and later VR6s had traction control thrown in 'cos VW gave up as it tried to empty its shelves of silly stock. Dont try to fit a VR6 system in a G60/16V version - there are huge balance problems you will have with the brain. sorry but in all the magazine roadtests ive got of the Corrado VR6 from introduction in 1992 they all stated the Corrado VR6 as having "traction" control........to quote Autocar magazine's 29/04/92 roadtest of the Corrado VR6........ "How they get power to the ground"..... "There's a school of thought that says 190bhp and 181lb/ft torque and FWD don't work as a combination.Witness the dramatic antics that cars such as the Astra GSi and Alfa 33 16v go through trying to put considerably less power through their front wheels, and you begin to wonder whether the cynics have a point VW's solution is a subtle form of TC that acts on the brakes rather than throttle. It doesn't resrict wheelspin completely;instead,it keeps the front wheels turning at the same speed. When the system senses that one front wheel is turning significantly faster than the other,it tickles the brake on the faster revolving wheel, bringing it back in line with the other wheel. Its the most subtle, successful form of TC we've come across yet on a FWD car."
  6. i'll put this thread into the servicing section then
  7. if it is from a Golf Rallye then its got a smaller capacity than the Gti G60 and Corrado G60................1763cc IIRC..........don't know if that would have any effect tbh.....but something to think about
  8. tbh going by book prices it will be top...................not a lot bottom............a lot less than not a lot :-P the thing tho is that whatever the "trade" bibles price them at.........bears no reflection on what they are advertised at

    Please Help

might be the aux.coolant pump leaking or the thermostat housing.............both are near to the coil-pack

    VAG-COM

there is a thread about that "diagnostic" function with the MFA on G60's lurking somewhere on the forum...........well how to get a "real-time" boost reading etc off it  .......and of course it was in an edition of the Sprinter too........

    Exhaust hanger!

going by the picture showing your exhaust centre section if i were you i would start saving some cash and get a cat-back S/S system fitted sooner rather than later
  12. pmsl.. never thought of that one  So we've got Nice Gay Violet, Lipstick Blue, Gash red, Jurassic Green..... anything else? K how about pearl-necklace grey etc..........   or that dark silver  also known as light grey metallic
  13. tbh.........and slightly disagreeing with jim  .......i would just keep to using VR-rated tyres.......afterall VW were happy enough to fit that rating in the first place..........and its going to be very unlikely that you'll ever get to speeds of 150mph+ with a standard C VR
  14. just had a look back to some stuff i saved from the vwpartsclub website........and there were 2 different part no's for the dampers used on the 2.0 16v then for the 95> 16v's they used a different damper.......the 2.0 8v for some bizarre reason shared the same dampers as the VR.....535413031C(fronts) and 1H0513031F(rears) which going by the vwpartsclub info was used from introduction of the VR :? ...............but as there was no listing for springs i would imagine dr matt is right about the 5 different types........in other words very confusing   .........
  15. well as they are designed especially for the "later" interior Corrado's they should fit perfectly  ......of course famous last words

    VW Mats

  http://www.carmats4u.com!!!
  17. AFAIK 1) all Corrado VR's used the Mk3 Golf's "plus" suspension that was fitted to all the performance versions of the Mk3......if there was any difference between an early VR and a later VR suspension-wise i'm 95% sure its all just down to different damper suppliers 2)if the above is right......then yes  3)GSF,euro-car-parts and surprise surprise...............VW  they work out to be not-that expensive IIRC anyway i'll move this into the "common corrado questions" thread
  18. i'll move this into the general car chat........as you've not really put up a picture of your C on the forum as yet
  19. yip they should have 2 wee sliver thin metal clips to keep them in place
  20. not exactly a blueprint as such but this might help a wee bit
  21. StormVR6 paid about £45 from the dealer IIRC. K i know when mine went approx 18months ago...........the stealer wanted £114

    vr midrange?

i have an AmD chip in mine...........ive had variable Dyno-plots with it tho.......from 194bhp to 189bhp :? :( ........though once you have had it done it makes the C pull a lot harder and its has got a noticable "on the road" difference to it.......but if you are wanting it just to say your C produces "x"-amount down the pub then its maybe worth getting a VSR and changing the cams too

    Book Value

i think VW dealers stopped "selling" used Corrados just over a year ago maybe even 2 years  ......when i first started looking for a C in late 1999 at one point my local stealer had 3 VR's for sale........though all with price tags over £13k  and of course a 22k mile N-reg 2.0 8v auto for over £10k   which never sold til 2001 for £7k!!!
  24. By which time we'll have tired of the car and moved onto something else! K Blasphemer!!!!!

    Book Value

sorry nigel........but AFAIK its actually auction houses where CAP and Glass's get the majority of their USED car data/prices etc....then they work out average prices for the cars
