bigchris IIRC is after the seats you have.........geometric cloth etc....he had a wanted ad up a month or 2 back as for price.........probably £500+his seats in exchange would seem reasonable to me

have you played about with the speed control switch at all???........it worked fine prior to when it was taken out of the "breaker" a couple of months ago, like you say it shouldn't be working on 0 at all so the only thing i can think of is that you've possibly disturbed the speed control switch.........tho tbh I've never heard of anything like that happening.......it might also be worthwhile changing the thermal fuse to rule that out tho that only blows on setting 4 if thats at fault.......very strange if you want to send it back at your own cost,I'll easily refund your money(obviously less the PnP/paypal fees......that I incurred)

he should only be £200-£250 max for fitting the coilovers and setting the geometry.........Star-Performance a quality VW specialist this side of the border charge approx £200 for doing it all in IIRC

strange.........I'm assuming its a Corrado VR6 here..........the only 91 CVR6's will be LHD/german market ones........the CVR6 wasn't launched in the UK til late summer 1992

just noticed yer sig has it has a 91 VR6...............is it a conversion???..........the reason I ask is.......if its not a conversion then you should be able to get it scanned on VAG-COM to find out if it is a temp sensor thats gone......it does sound like its the ECU temp sensor to me....around £30-ish for one and 30mins tops to fit

stevemac is the man to ask..............he loves the old Merc "cossie"(2.3's had heads built by Cosworth and 2.5's had Cosworth designed but Mercedes built heads IIRC)..........didn't realise they sold em stateside tho................the 2.3 16v over here had 185bhp and was similar performance to the Corrado VR6(going by manufacturers figs)...........they were replaced by the 2.5 version about 89-ish which had more power...........horrendously expensive to fix if the engine goes bye-bye tho..........a friend of my bro-in-law had one about 10-11 yrs ago and blew a hole in the block....Mercedes wanted £7k for a new block

do a search matey........its been discussed before
-
search the forum for someone local to you who has VAG-COM......they'll probably do it for a pint as for the running costs.........its maybe your dream car but if you are having trouble with the costs of it I'd hardly call it your ideal car..........whats going to happen when its cam belt tensioner change time and the garage recomend doing the water pump at the same time????......assuming its a 1.8T A3 you have
-
get someone who knows how do to it with VAG-COM

i think they are worried about RK engineering putting there prices up after seeing what everyone else pays for VW specialist servicing...............as Walesy/TimG60 all use them
