  1. Most likely the slave but you can confirm this by seeing if you can see any fluid leaking onto the top of the gearbox. Make sure you buy a decent one as there is some cheap rubbish out there, should be alloy and not painted like this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201622089732
  2. Welcome to the forum - might be worth checking the plugs aren't oiled up... If it's a distributor model have you checked the rotor arm and cap? I'd try a new ECU relay and also consider get a new ignition switch if it's not got the newer (black 6NO) type fitted. Have you tried shaking the key when it the crank position? (sometimes starts if switch is faulty) Is there an aftermarket alarm fitted? maybe a fuse somewhere you can't see. The G28 error is normal for that engine as you say when not running so ignore that for now.
  3. If you're talking about the 10-40 Synta then it's way cheaper than that from TPS... maybe half that price. The Platinum is usually around £50 for 20L (12.99+vat for 5 IIRC)
  4. I think the calipers actually run closer as the 288 setup just about fits under OE 15's but runs very close.
  5. Over 100k I think... which makes it more amazing really!
  6. Non air con I assume? You remove the plug to the resistor pack and there is a small tab tha treleases it and it twists anti-clockwise
  7. Bear in mind that Jim only listens to radio 4 and 70 is his age, not the speed he's doing :-)
  8. Have you got the bonnet foam still in place mate??
  9. I'm not sure mate - they may well fit but the calipers are different in shape to the usual 288 / 312 MK3/MK4 setup...
  10. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vr6-12V-Obd2-Polished-And-Ported-Head-Schrick-Cams-/252431852168?hash=item3ac61c6288:g:FQMAAOSwbYZXX~Lj :norty:
  11. Just wanted to point out that these are not the same as the 312mm brakes that people upgrade Corrado's [if they will fit a Corrado then please say but I noticed the calipers are the later sort]
  12. Hmmm - not a bad point as they always advise they should be upgraded with cams and you did have the cams fitted for a bit.
  13. No, unfortunately not... Some dealers will loan out the Corrado kit as it's rarely used.
  14. They also look like 288's but you really need to buy something that lot a lot newer than that - they look f&*cked!
  15. 54 is the piston size but both the Lucas / Girling setup and the ATE setup are marked 54 This is why you can interchange these and not have to upgrade the master cylinder to keep the pedal feel. The one above is an ATE caliper from the MK4 style 288 / 312mm setup.
  16. It's the same stuff... If you're looking at second hand then the Seat Ibiza was the last model to use that setup (Lucas / Girling 54)
  17. I've fitted 312mm to a 4 Stud and machined the carriers (by around 3mm) and discs but these need 6mm spacing adding to them to fit a VR6 so in theory the 288's would need nearly 10mm removing to correct the offset (I think - could be completely wrong) Info here but pics have disappeared due to forum upgrades unfortunately. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?45434-312mm-Brakes-on-a-4-Stud You maybe best off looking at the 305mm Brembo conversion that was designed for 4 stud
  18. They're doing 12% off everything today only but not sure of you can use that code with the usual ones too...
  19. What type of noise? May well be heat / expansion related if it only happens after 15 miles... Compare on wheel to the other side and see if it hotter.
  20. Ok, just trying to get to the bottom of this but this is the key bit of info here... I remember when I test drove this car (the R32 being sold by Stoney at the time via G-werks), one of the (many) things that put me off it was that it was previously a G60 and not a VR6 (we know that an R32 coversion on a VR is far easier due to many factors) So what you have (I think) is a standard VAG 305mm Brembo setup for 4 stud / Non wide track cars... should fit any Corrado apart from the VR6! As your VR6 is widetrack (standard), you'd have to do lots of messing around and change the track / offset to get these to fit when there are off the shelf conversions available. It might be worth speaking to Bill from Badger5 and explaining the above and he may have a simple solution but otherwise I think you should request a refund - Clumpy, if you can do this and get the stuff back it should sell again fairly easily i would think... Paypal should also refund any fee's incurred if it's done via them so you'd just have to cover postage. Hope that helps!
  21. Interested in these but not at over twice the price they were new!!
  22. Good work - what's the price?
