OK, we know your cars, where did your names come from???
Rustynuts replied to fla's topic in General Car Chat
Comes from when i got my first Golf that all the nuts and bolts seemed rusted on, er hence Rustynuts, sounds better than Rustybolts. ...and no its not because its been a while since i have seen some lady action..... -
Yeah hope to get them, but there is someone who has first refusal before me. Hopefully he won't have them and then they will be mine all mine.

Cheers Steve, have found http://www.matey-matey.com very useful as well.

I know your feeling mate, happened to me two weeks ago to the day. Sadly my C has been written off. I dealt with the womens insurance direct after they contacted me. she was with esure and they have been good upto now. Just make sure you do what you want to do. Its your car at the end of the day and don't be pushed into anything. I stood my ground and came out with a £3k payout and am retaining the salvage.
-
Yes i know they are lensos, talking about my mates wheels off his rallye.
-
Yeah thats what i thought, i will be swapping bits over from the other one to find a cure. I would not say bad running as it ticked over nice and smooth, but the power just did not seem there. Should be an easy fix as long as i cover all angles, and i will be probably swapping over the jabba G-lader and SNS chipped ECU anyway.

& keeping warm/dry when it's raining.. and generally staying more alive when you have a crash.

Right well i am def buying my mates 16" wheels before he finds out they are discontinued and puts the price up. Snowed here in the mids but not much in the way of settling.
-
Well mine relates to completely stripping the blue car for parts, and getting the grey one up to a good standard using parts from the blue one.
-
So here they are. Not then best in the world as i have nicked them off the ebay listing, though have done a deal outside of ebay.
-
Better outside than in, some good kit in the carpark though. Inside was not too good for the watercooled brigade.

As some of you know, my last G60 only lasted 4 days before some silly bint crashed into me. Well today went to look at another one and I am going to buy it for the very reasonable price of £2000. Paintwork wise the Metallic Atlas grey is ok, its got a few stone chips and some slight laquer peel and odd scratch. However, the car is straight and am sure that at some point it can be given a spruce up. The gearbox is a lot smoother than my last one, the steering more precise and it is also lowered slightly. The wheels are standard Corrado G60 BBS. The engine is really smooth running, in sept 03 Awesome did £3600 worth of work on the engine and chassis. The head has a piper cam and is fully rebuilt, the charger was a second hand unit (presume that they might have reconditioned it though this is not conclusive) and they have fitted a G-Force chip and pulley. Although i know the car is not running at its full potential, it feels like its not running at WOT when you press the laughing pedal. I am sure that i will get to the bottom of it though fairly quickly with spares from the blue car. So a show car its not, but it will be good car with a bit of TLC and of course there is that rare leather interior.
-
Welcome, mine is also limited as my Corrado G60 only lasted 4 days. Getting another one though as quick as i can.
-
Well it looks like it will be a Cat C having spoken to the Assessor. He said he will do the best he can for me having fed an inflated figure of what i paid for it last sat. So now the settlement will be down to a time will tell situation.

The boot floor is creased. The whole of the rear of the car has moved by about 2 inches and is visible through the creases in the rear wings, boot floor and even the pasesnger door is now sticking a bit. I am not going to fight for it now, don't want to be driving a car that i know has been bent. I will hold onto the salvage as there are lots of useable parts you guys are bound to be needing. Though don't start the PM's etc until this is official and I will an advert up in the right area. Hopefully the good thing will be that i will get a good payout to get another good G60 so if anyone is thinking of selling let me know. Cheers for the thoughts folks.

The skips in better condition than my C after the bitch crashed into me yesterday.
-
Interesting stuff sbout the whiplash. I will check that out i think. The wheels as far as I am aware are 17 inch Brocks, though someone else on here said they could be something else.
-
Yeah the wheels are great and suit the C down to the ground. It may be that they come available though will depend on whether any new Corrado i get has got good wheels on it.
-
Well does seem like i may be making a return to my silver shed for a while.
-
Well the car is Inca blue and the car has been fully resprayed recently, i also feel a stiff neck coming on.
-
Well i hope to retain the car as salvage and pass on some good parts for other peoples C's
-
Can't believe it, I have been shunted up the rear this morning whilst sat in traffic. women did not see i was stopped. Now it looks like it might be written off as the rear panel, bumper, bootlid, and the rear wings have a very slight kink. So its unbelievable really, another good C could be going to the wayside.
-
I am interested to know the answer to the above questions too.
-
Ah G werks do the RSR kit, what benefits does it give other than been better than the crap silencer?
-
Ah right thats the silencer, yes thats the bugger thats leaking. Wheres the best place to get a RS outlet? Cheers Rob
