I bought a complete timing chain kit from Four Seasons Motorsport in the states for £90 delivered. Its all VAG parts too.
-
Would there be any benefits running the two together or would the Schrick be waste of money?
-
Awesome. Really looks the part with the polished Comps. Looks a minter.
-
What did you clean the box with? Looks really good.

Satin Silver VR6-Ex OSV-Steering/Suspension overhaul 16/04

I can ask but as a rule they dont do work to the general public. Its a Mercedes Benz refurb centre (not main dealer) that is owned by them and repairs all there own cars. If i was going to reccomend anyone id say Greg Howell. His work is awesome and thats coming from me who paints cars. -

i thought they were good for at least 100k but mine are noisy on 95K  also noticed you did a cracking job of the body repairs {petrol cap area} etc would you be able to do a similar job on mine? terry It all depends how the cars been treated in the past i suppose. As for the body repairs im afraid the answer is no. They wont allow us to do jobs on the side as people have taken the piss in the past. Sorry i cant be of any help. -

Lol that may not be fitted till next year. Still need to get clutch and chains done as a precaution then new big brakes. I only use the car 6 months a year so might run out of time. same as me want a stage 2 charger but chains noisy so got to do the boring stuff first  are you going for r32 brakes? didnt it have 312's on before? Mine arent noisy at all but its done nearly 100k so im not taking any risks. I did think about R32 brakes but now looking into getting an AP Racing kit from the states. It did have 312's on when Gareth owned it but they had to come off when the sppedlines went back on. -

VR6 Timing Chain Kit - Cheap Supplier From USA

I expected it all to be Febi Bilstein stuff which is good but had a nice surprise when i opened the box. -
I ordered a full VR timing chain kit from Four Seasons Motorsport for $195 delivered. This only works out to about £98. It all arrived in under a week and when i opened the box all the parts are genuine VAG. Very impressed. Heres the link for anyone interested http://www.fourseasontuning.com/?product=14

Advice on what to do with a screwed (low miles) VR6 engine..
MK1Campaign replied to Jim's topic in Engine Bay
It really does depend how bad the damage is or not as the case may be, the real problem is that whilst you have the engine in pieces you might as well do the chains, bearings etc - get the car, get the engine out stick it on a pallet and I'll rebuild it for you instead, someone I/we know has a TPS account so genuine spares are not going to be that criminal. Legend :notworthy: -

Will you have picked the car up cheap enough to warrant paying for a new engine? -
Thankyou :D

Are all the VAG 5x100 kits exactly the same? What i mean is does the caliper always mount in exactly the same place or would different kits mount the caliper further in/out? The reason im asking is i cant find a specific MK3 VR6/Corrado VR6 kit listed. The nearest one i can find is MK4 VR6.

Hello Sambo. I remember talking to you at BVF 2004 when you had the VWM white Golf 16v. I had a Leon Cupra R at the time but had always wanted a Corrado VR6. If i remember we went and looked at the VR's on the VolkCars stand. I did finally get a VR last year :D -
Wife hits garage wall with Corrado! (FIXED NOW!)

Wings are about £250 but yours will repair. Bumper shouldnt cost much to repair but you may as well have the whole thing done if theres chips on it etc. -
Check the VW price as i think its dropped.

A bit OT but does anyone know how much a genuine VAG VR6 oil pump is? Im going to change mine when the charger is fitted as a precaution.
-
They dont. I always wait while they do mine but i usually tell them what needs doing.
-
Could anyone running a Vortech charger on their VR list the mods and power output. Im interested to see how different mods affect the power output.
-
Mine was noisy for about 20 minutes after. Vince said its air in the system.
