Any tyre with diesel poured on it...! It's what they do in the movies apparently... ;)

Yup, Laura runs 9x16 ET15 Borbet Ts with about a 50mm drop and no rubbing, so ET20 on a 7.5 would seem to be the way to go...

What is this tube/pipe on my 16v? It's broken.
gradeAfailure replied to belfastfumanchu's topic in Engine Bay
Is this not the inlet manifold vacuum pipe thingy that does the mpg on the MFA...? -
Yup, I'm taking it easy til the three good days of weather appear sometime in July... Did have a CTR trying to bait me on the way back from picking up the VR but I couldn't be arsed to play...! Seen off a few boy racers in Focuses (Focii?) and Paxos and stuff, but they don't really count!

My 16v Corrado.. Featured in this months (Jan 2010) PVW!
gradeAfailure replied to Bally's topic in Members Gallery
Heheh, and guess who took the pics... ;) Anyway, I want to make her look a bit different from the squillion-and-one other Aqua Blue VRs on here before getting pix up, so not yet! Is yours Aqua, Bal? Damn, RC's are about my second or third fave wheel for the C - just look soooo right with a hefty slam like you got! -
GSF do the plain smoked ones but you can also get crystal smoked as I've got them on the Passat - think it might be in.pro that make them? Try calling Venom Motorsport...

Haha, when it's clean and I have a digi camera to hand...! RS301s do not take kindly to being a daily driver wheel in winter! -

Looking good as always Bally! -
Oooooo, cheers for the heads-up!

You're quite welcome sir!

Stops the tweeters getting the low frequencies and the woofer getting the high ones, if it's a proper 2-way crossover...

potatonet, the square headlamp connectors are the plugs at the endo of the wiring loom - part number 357 941 165. You would also need 4 of the contacts for each plug, which is why it is probably easier to go to a junkyard, find a B3 or B4 Passat and cut the headlight plugs of those as I believe they are the same as Euro Corrado ones (though I may be wrong on this!). Alternatively, there's a guy on your side of the pond who makes uprated headlight looms with relays that also converts from US to Euro connectors - but I can't find his damn site anymore! EDIT: Halfway down this page you can buy the Euro headlight connectors

I have a set of JVC 6x9s with no grilles that you can have for a fiver plus the postage if you like?!

car speakers are 4ohm, whereas home hi-fi tends to be 8ohm, so you won't get as much oomph out of them...

what did santa bring you for the corrado?
gradeAfailure replied to KADVR6's topic in General Car Chat
Santa brought me an actual Corrado, with a little help from the girlf... Do I win? -
It's Italvolanti - peanut aka Gav has one to put on his rado and it's exactly what I want! If I can find out what model it is, I'll swap a Momo Milennium for one... ;)
-
So has any one ever dumped a Cossie lump in a Rado??
gradeAfailure replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in General Car Chat
Good as the Cossie engine is, that's tantamount to sacrilege! -
What's required in fitting one of these - ie. is it worth getting a gearbox rebuild at the same time or can it just be fitted on its own? What sort of fitting cost are you looking at?

Grrrr, why do all the previous owners of low-cost cars have such a talent for bodging stuff so badly that it takes more effort to put it right than it would have to actually do the job properly in the first place...?! Specifically, wiring. Connector blocks, wires twisted together and taped, loose wires hanging out all over the place, stereo connectors cut off and wires cut so shorrt they're virtually in the engine bay... Have none of these people heard of crimp connectors, soldering, loom tape or cable ties...?! Maybe I'm being a perfectionist, but if I change something about a car, I like to do it in such a way that it looks like it was done like that at the factory... I think we should pass a law saying that anyone found bodging a car should have it taken off them!

Some UK G60s had dealer-fitted a/c - JMC's used to have it, and I think he may still have the parts kicking around after Daz removed it...
-
How do you get 3 years' no claims at 19...?! Good luck though wemneb - my second car at 18 was an Uno Turbo and I was paying £950 a year tpft!
-
What is it about aqua blue VRs and RS301s...?! Think there's at least four of us on here now, and you and I are also both Daves...! Looking good mate!

gradeAfailure replied to PBSTORM's topic in General Car Chat
Heheh, I'd only had mine less than 12 hours by that point so wasn't wanting to rag it too much! -
Well, my sis's other half has a V6 MIVEC FTO, so I'll just have to race him! I do love how they look though, and boy does that engine like to rev!
