KARMANN replied to GB_SEAN's topic in Engine Bay
When the "How To" has been finished on this job i think il be printing it off. Just so i start getting a feel for doing this or getting somebody to do it. Have any of the scottish folks had Star P do this job for them? I know there work is top notch-just wondering on how much theyd charge? Cheers Fraser -

Hey there, Yesterday i jumped out of the VR6 and went back to it 5mins later. It wouldnt start-turned over fine with good speed but just wouldnt fire up.So popped the bonnet fiddled around with the wires highlighted in pic.when i did this a bit of smoke appeard. So i towed it home,to then look at it today.Checked all the fuses etc then checked for a spark and couldnt get one.So then went back to the wires previously mentioned and fiddled with them and the car started no probs! but i want to renew these wires and the part there connected to so it doesnt happen again as the covering protecting the wires from the engine heat has worn off through time. So can somebody please name this part? Cheers Fraser

Thanks guys very pleased with it. Yeah iv still got the red valver im getting a few things sorted on it before i sell it. Although i changed alot on the valver and put alloys etc on it,Im going to keep this one pretty much standard for aslong as i can.Hopefully there will be heated black leather going in it next week. Previous owner got it chiped put a miltec on it sorted out the suspension and a few other things. Its clean enough and runs very well,Its done 113k miles so il have the timing chains looked at this year, there not rattly yet but would rather have it looked at for piece of mind. Il try and get better pics up without shadows being cast over the car. Cheers Fraser

I think its def down a very steep hill-this might explain the lack of dip whilst changing gears (the cars own weight is still helping it accelerate) It doesnt sound right!!!!! wee porky pies in my eyes Cheers Fraser

Ok,iv just switched over to a new rado-the previous owner Greegs has installed speakers etc but i have to get an Amp for them to work. All previous wiring is still there.I need a 4 Channel amp with 60w per channel.I have no idea about Amp etc iv looked around they all say 500w or 300w etc.Because im looking for a four channel amp with 60w per channel would i be looking for a 240w amp? ie 4x60? Im not looking for anything expensive prob off ebay or somwhere. Id ask greegs but think hes on holiday. Cheers Fraser

Surely its not legal to park on a round about?? Theres a new Kebab shop opened in my town on a round about-every fcuker parks on it-makes it pretty tight! even the Cops park on it when getting there scran-the FCUKERs had the cheek to pull me up at 6:30 AM on a sunday morning for parking with my wheels on the kerb in a residental area! If it wasnt for the fact i wa driving a car that im not insured on id have said somit! Regards Fraser
