  1. H8RRA's car came with the engine in bits in the boot! Nothing is too much of a worry if you are prepared to put some work in though if not that's a different story, most things aren't leathal for it so take a prospective view point on it depending upon the price obviously Chris
  2. £600 for the kit you'd want which includes the big 11Lb bottle and proper swag, not the basic introductory kit. Chris
  3. Ah so he got the V1s kit with C2 dual idler... Good one, there's another then woo-hoo! Becoming common pace now, how things change. Chris
  4. I get lost off everytime someone new posts that they are a blown member! Chris
  5. double-6s, why what you done? Chris
  6. Gav have you got fat fingers? Chris
  7. i'VE JUST BOUGHT A THERMOSTAT FOR MY vr TOO, SEEMS TO BE THE SEASON FOR IT! Damn Caps lock. One piece of advice is to do an oil change as the oil won't be as oily as is was if the temp was that high so drop it out and be safe than sorry. Chris
  8. I may have misunderstood perhaps? Chris
  9. Just leave it, it'll be happy i'm sure but you will disperse what oily protection there is on the outside by spraying it with WD40 as it breaks down oil particles but is a good dielectric isolator so it shouldn't get hit by lightening  Chris
  10. and has fins on it but the olde VR is so basic but it must make a difference tot he PAS. Chris
  11. It's very low, you can tell it's not a UK car, it would never get over the speed bumps which should be made illegal. Chris
  12. You just get paid for breathing Kevin. Chris
  13. There are two slightly different head castings but not that you'd really notice. Amongst us up here in the Northeast we have compared things and mine is slightly different to H8RRA's and Corradovr6-n.o.s's head is the sdame as mine. Chris
  14. You can offset grind the crank to produce more torque and make true 3.1 but you can also get the block xrayed and see how thick the walls are to determine how far you can take it, you may be able to take it out further than you thought. Don't go too low on the C/R cos it will cause problems. Chris
  15. You shouldn'r be able to hear them with your big GOB! The 328 is a nice car, i had one for a while and it was lovely but very poor on fuel though i blinded myself to that for a long time. BMW's are one of those cars that you like the idea of until you get one and they seem to loose thier specialness or at least for me that's what happened but you could have chosen worse cars for sure, i'd say it's a goot replacement for a Corrado really, the cabi is the one to get, loved mine and had great fun in it! Chris
  16. Holy Hijack thread Double 6 Sort it out ladies and Doulbe 6 i'm aware of the obvious postage cost and the duty is 2% so stop being picky and as the sherrif said, play nice. ....and how loud can you shout then? Chris
  17. Double 6 seems to be voicing his opinion loudly these days. Well the price was copied directly from the EIP site matey so suck a plum. The price is correct and then whatever parts you order you need to have them posted to you at some cost obviously. Kevin, i'm not going to wase money making a mad VR cos i have a 600+bhp Skyline if i need to feel noise and power. That's why my VR has remained at StgI for so long. The R40 is a great idea and seemingly there is talk on the Vortex forum regarding this conversion but whom am I to argue, hope it's true. rixy, enjoy the conversion mate, take no notice of them with littler engines  Chris
  18. What difference does it make, in reality it's going to be 3.0 i'd guess at, but for the same money i'd rebore it as far as i could get away with, not that i'd say bore it til it breaks but 3.0 is safe and if you can get the pistons to get a real 3.1 do it! The rebore cost is the same so who's saying it's extremely expensive to go 3.1, it just isn't! Load of horse mate! The bores are worn and poss ovaled like he says so it needs a rebore so whether it's bored and pistoned for 0.5mm bigger or 3mm bigger it's the same money and he's building it up him self so let him go for it, it's the same then go for a remap at stealth or get a snail and then go for a remap, he's be happy. Stop trying to scare monger and put people off 66 Chris
  19. Yip, i remember how hard it was to do that in G's R32 that day on the autobahn doing 155 i think, it was so dificult to steady the camera. Chris
  20. £100 for the rebore and £425 for the pistons and £200 for the gaskets bolts etc and there's ya 3.1 what's the problem with that? Wires just spent £800 on an inlet manifold which will give him 0 power increase. Go for the power increase with the largest bore you can, it'll be fine, VERY few people have done this so non of the people who are posting on here have any real life experience of this mod and are too scared to do it too so lead the pack and go for it, then put a charger on it! Chris
  21. Now that's really p***ed me off  I should have had some money to be able to buy them, always thought they looked the best on a silver VR and should belong to ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Snots  Never mind, glad they went to a good home Jambles! Chris
  22. Adding a supercharger to the VR6 transforms teh car and as such is my favourite mod followed by nitrous oxide for fun and exhilaration but for cheapest and most gained mod has to be a quick shift! Chris
