My sunroofs broke! surprise! and im off to vw in a bit and thought i could get this sorted too but i dont know what the part no. is or what its specifically called? its the part on the end of the casting that pushes and pulls the roof looks like it has broke off. It will push the mech up and forward but wont retract it, leaving the passenger side up and it has to be forced down with a screwdriver of some sort! i presume this is the usual prob? anyone know what im talkin about? cheers, craig.

could be m8, like henny said if you got some ducting long enough then you could have it going from the grill right up to the air box on your valver, should benefit from the cooler air, especially at higher speeds! think im going to see what i can make up 2m and chop off this plastic bit

Anyone in the bournemouth area? Think one of the runners has broken on mine as it tilts but only one side goes back down and the passenger edge stays up due to the runner ( i think) have to force it back with a scewdriver or similar! does this sound common? if anyone thinks they'd be able to fix it then id def be interested, while theres still some sun about to make it worthwile!

yeah thats exactly what ive done, placed a piece of alu ducting on the carbon can bracket (shown in the pic) and sewn off the brake duct so it doesnt hook up with the brake and connects to the ducting instead, like henny said at higher speeds the air will rush throught the vent, through the brake duct but now be directed to the bottom corner of the air box. think i may cut away that bit of plastic too now and may try and use up the left over alu for another duct of some sort to the air box! sure i can make some sort of contraption? :)

yeah the air box opening is directly behind the light which is where it gets its feed from throught the snorkel (which ive removed anyway) but i was thinking if this cover was removed too it would help keep the engine cooler as well as lower the intake temps? but the problem is there would be no where for the air to escape? out the back of the bonnet maybe?? or am i just thinking too much and should i just head down stairs with my saw?

Just a feeler, has anyone removed this cover behind the grill, i know it extends all the way down the radiator but the top bit could be cut away to let cooler air into the engine bay. just wandering if the cooler air will help or as vw put it there for a reason will it create some unwanted pressure/turbulance inside the bay? possibly reomve the foam on the underside of the bonnet? anyone got any ideas?

must be the weather as i think ive got the same probelm, used to turn the key and there would be a delay when starting and now nothing happens at all. got the rac to put in a hot wire so i now have to turn on the ignition and place a wire on the bat terminal to start the car! looks a bit suspect having to pop the bonnet and start the car this way, few dodgy looks. off to vw 2m hopefully to get the switch and fingers crossed it will be sorted!!

being a nipper the fastest ive owned and driven is my G60 now, all smiles there :) the fastest ive been in is probably my m8s 300bhp cupra r. but my dads mk1 mustang has the best noise to it! all 5.8 litres of it! not the fastest but the most scary/interesting was a ride in a pug 206 rally car which was just mental, the way it got chucked round corners was just unreal!

sorry to hijack your thread but i was just guna post the same thing really. im thinking of sorting out my repeaters but not sure what to do, can i just spray them blue and pop them back in or will this fail the mot?? or alternative is to get some off ebay but do you get the whole plastic unit as ive noticed one of the clips was broken and the previoous owner has glued the repeater in place!!! or do you just get the outer cover lens bit? any thoughts guys? cheers

just for any future reference where actually is TAG engineering? be useful if someone who sounds this honest and trustorthy was local. G-werks are brill but if its something that needs doing asap then may be useful for the future as its not easy getting the car to darren when its not running :( . Thats if he is even near bournemouth? cheers

thats exactly how i feel mate, water pump started leaking, put some sealant in, thought it had blocked a pipe as it was overheating! in the middle of this my drivers handle broke!!! so drained the coolant, went to start it and nothing?? thought what have i done! anyway fixed the handle but snapped the top plastic trim on the door card while putting it back on!! and cars still dead! gave up and phoned rac and he thinks the immobiliser isn't sending a current to start the car??? so he hot wired it only for it to overheat everywhere after 5 mins of idling!! so he thinks its either the head gasket or thermostat so it got towed to a garage and its now there waiting for their diagnosis in the morn!! where im guna sneak in and torch it tonight!! oh and when on the way home while it was steaming i curbed the front alloy!!! argh!!! but sh*t luck of mine the side wall must have hit the cut alloy on the curb and its sliced a big gash into it so i now need a new front tyre!! gutted!!! anyone want a g60!! pls!! im sure darren will have it back together soon! good luck

am i right in thinking then the c didnt come with red painted calipers, front or rear. mine were red when i got the car and just presumed they were all like that? could do with a touch up tho??

NickVR6, id love to but im not sure it would make it that far at the mo! need something within 5-10 miles really! be better if it had one of darrens big valve heads and a fmic!! imagine your vr is an animal, would love to hava go in one, we'll have to do a sort of wife swap for the day :lol:
