  1. theres just a little too much of a height difference between back and front at the mo... tho i agree it does look good when its done proper like.... :)
  2. cheers Kev... will get Konigsports for the back once i have had the arches done in a few months... i should however be able now to at least even the ride height out at 50/60 ish so she doesnt have the nose down stance anymore!!! yay!! :)
  3. got konigsports at the front and koni top adjustable shocks at the back, afaik.... need to find out how to alter the height at the back tho.... havnt got any instructions etc...
  4. i have 9x16 wheels alround... the car is lowered about 50-60mm at the front and i only rub the wheels on full lock, the back arches have been cut but as the car is only lowered about 40mm (approx) the width aint causing any probs.... will be taking the car down to a 80mm drop allround and am only planning to have front arches cut too if poss.... offset of my wheels is 15 which, imho, makes em sit perfectly in the arches, no spacers needed!!! oh, tyres are 205/40 16... give it that nice stretched look!!!! :) hth!!!
  5. leave it alone....!!! looks like a really nice C... you boys  !!!! seriously, congrats on the purchase... :)
  6. oh b*gger... sorry mate... hope you get it sorted and the car can be fixed... least your ok tho.... :)
  7. oooooooh..... that headlining looks lush.....!!! i wanna do mine in alcantara.... :)
  8. looks good.... tho it aint dusky mauve as thats only on the campaign models.... check paint code in the boot for the code and check it against the list on the buyers guide on here if you wanna know exactly what colour it is.... looks like one of the blues.... :) liking those wheels.... :)
  9. oh my god!!! my poor baby!!!! :) glad you got it done Dave...! good to see the old girl is coming along nicely!!! and Lukes MKII is lovely... that pic dont do it justice!!!! :)
  10. i'd ask for the reg no/chassis no of the car and find out if VW have any history like h100vw says.... my new c has history from previous owner only who could only provide his reciepts and a duplicate of the services it had done by VW, but the car seemed good enough to take the chance on and so far so good..... some of these cars are just getting too old, reciepts and things do go missing... see if someone with more experience than yourself can go with you to take a look (someone will be happy to - i'm sure!!!) i was always told if it drives right then it is right..... to be fair it hasn't let me down with my choices of car.... good luck!!!!
  11. my right foot has unfortunately got heavier and heavier as my months of rado ownership have progressed... my first C was a little too 'unpredictable' to be booting it all the time so i only really enjoyed the couple of months before i sold her... the new one however is a beast and i am averaging 25 mpg (in a valver!) it just doesnt feel right to go slowly..... plus i am convinced the car prefers it.... :)
  12. yeah, its basically 2 mondeo engines that have been tweaked by Aston, which is where it stops being mondeo engines.... plus there isn't an actual model of Mondeo out there that has that engine in it.... i just think it's silly that people wouldnt put a cossie engine in just because its associated with ford.... i bet opinions would be different if someone said they were putting the 190 Merc cossie engine into a rado (or other VW).. then again i have always said whatever i do to my car, even if it does get turbo'd, will be to the existing engine... i personally wouldnt even put a 24v or a 1.8t in mine.... just my 2p tho... am sure most will disagree.....
  13. too red even for me and my red corrado obsession.... looked better on the Schmidts imo.... saw it at No Rice and it is mintier than mint tho... cant fault the workmanship at all!!!!! :) (but Ferrari badges.... )
  14. mine just topped 160k.... the 1000 mile round trips back and forth to Glasgow aint helping keep it down.....
  15. GPC have the prices the wrong way round - its been mentioned once or twice... ;)
  16. My old rado had the top half tinted and we laquered it with no problems at all... If you've sanded the bottom half as well, i'd get the whole cluster lacquered by a bodyshop for a professional finish...! [/2p]
  17. you need to have the front splitter there to protect the front of the car, its better scraping the splitter which is sturdy enough to withstand it than catching the underside of your bumper on something.... the cost of a replacement splitter is well less than a replacement bumper..... my C had a 50mm which i replaced with a 90 as i felt it looked better, yes its impractical when trying to get into most driveways but i'd rather hear the splitter scraping the ground than the actual bumper!!! my 2p..... :)
  18. Here's my first C when I bought her, and just before I sold her...
  19. Man that sucks.... thought this was supposed to be the season of goodwill and all that crap..... :(
  20. looks like it... yay!!! i might have been 'spotted!!!' :)
  21. em... wheres your office... that looks like the bit of Guildford I was driving thru on wed, and i've got a red, Lreg C..... :)
  22. lol... us Weegies get to impatient... especially when theres a GSF 2 miles away....
  23. Egay is full of them in various colours for half the price  true, true... i just couldnt wait that long to get em....!!!!
  24. '88 I think (am prob wrong) and it was the 1.8 that arrived first (again i could be wrong....!!)
  25. true - and i will be attempting too soon, but if i had the cash, the time and the knowledge to do it then it would be an interesting project... having never yet driven a VW turbo i may love it as much as the Cossie.... will soon find out!!! :)
