  1. could a be a bit of paranoia.....i only say this cause i used to have a mate who everytime i got in the car with him he would say he could hear squeeks and rattles, i couldnt hear a thing...this went on for ages and i think after a while he was hearing things in his head  sometimes when you focus on something so much it starts playing tricks on your mind....get some photos up and let the jury decide
  2. I'm currently running the standard vr wheel although when i change it i'm going for either a momo jet or the classic BBS 3/4 spoke wheel that you can put the carbon insert in.
  3. Would go for the look of cloth recaro's everytime, they just look awesome. Dont fancy shelling out for a set yet though. Also with Abdul, love the late vr cloth interior as long as its in good nick.
  4. gutted you got rid of the valver, it just looked so right. but your right, the vr is the right engine in these. plus i know your gonna get this one looking just as sweet. What wheels are you thinking this time......? PS. Update your avatar too ;)
  5. Love this film....love the way people just dont get it....
  6. surely rather than milling 10 mm off the back of the alloy it would be easier just to run a 10mm spacer on the other side to match it up...? Wont affect any future sale of the alloys either.
  7. Coilies on order, just waiting for them to arrive...like a kid at crimbo. Also ordered a pair of drop links so i'll whip them over at the same time. May order some new top mounts too depending on what condition they are in when they come off. cant wait to see the difference.
  8. Well yesterday i had a go at wiring up my reverse lights. Spent an hour outside only for them not to work....gutted to say the least, so today i've had a good think whilst at work and this evening went back out there and within 15 minutes....hey presto...working lights. :notworthy:  i'm chuffed to bits as thats the conversion all finished now. Just need to get a bonnet release cable and fit that and then i can start prepping her for the mot. Although i've had a good look and can only see 1 drop link needing changing. I'll get them and replace both sides being as they are cheap. Even better news is i've had a bonus at work this month so tomorrow i can finally get some coilovers ordered....woo hoo. So give it a week and watch this space, and prepare to be amazed, i'll no longer keep getting nose bleeds whenever i sit in her.
  9. Cheers matt, yeah just a little   looks alright for a rattle can job, really need to do the rocker cover now though.
  10. Ha ha, trust me i know, thats the next thing on my list to buy, just need to sell some bits on ebay to fund it. Can wait to see the transformation then. Standard ride height is just ridiculous
  11. Well, did a bit more tonight. Picked up the pipe that goes from the brake master to the clutch master today, fitted it when i got home then got the wife to help me bleed the clutch. After ten minutes and getting nowhere i went round to check the pedal only to realise she'd been pumping the pedal then releasing it when i cracked the nipples, so i had no pressure built up at all....doh. :bonk: Once i'd informed her of the correct proceedure (again) we got it bled in no time. Fired her up and threw it into first , and away she did crawl (about 3 foot on my drive). Threw her into reverse and low and behold, she went backwards....ace. :notworthy: Well now that she could drive the urge was too strong, so i took her for a quick spin around the block.......purely to free up the brakes a bit  Wow, it drives mint, much better than i remember. Engine was so smooth, and the gear change was effortless. One chuffed bunny. Brakes squealed a bit though, think they'll need stripping down and cleaning up. But overall i'm well pleased, only got a handful of jobs left now and i can throw it in for an mot, hopefully aiming for the end of may  1 mile down.....999 to go.....
  12. How funny is he, bring back the cosby show. had cramp in his leg and he hadnt driven anywhere yet......
  13. I agree, red has to be the fastest, because all red VW's are T-cut so much in an attempt to keep them red they're way lighter than any other Corrados :) Although i then put a tonne of wax on to try to keep it red so its back to standard weight again.... But i do agree, red is the fastest. Thats why they paint fire engines red, cause they need to be super fast to get to the fires asap.......FACT! Green is quite slow though
  14. I quite like it, as has been said its quite tame apart from the pink, no garish body kits, nice classic rims...etc. I think if the paint work is a good job, most colours would look smart. The door does look a different shade but this could just be the lighting/photo. If this was aqua blue or blackberry people would be raving about it. i'm sure he gets plenty of attention wherever he goes. :camp:
  15. I've change my mind. Can You send them back to me ??
  16. Didnt think the isofix fittings stuck out at all, on the renaults i swear they are hidden in the seat fold, and can still be used fine. Seems a bit of an overkill to me.
  17. I havent seen it, but sounds lovely. off to google images now. Back now........ just looked it up......mmmm :luvlove:
  18. Crickey, it does look tiny next to that mk5, forget how small they are as i havent driven mine for a while now. Colour really suits the black speedlines well, proper moody.
  19. love fresh paint, just looks so wet and shiney :luvlove: looking forward to seeing this in one piece, lovely colour too.
  20. Sounds like your making some good headway, but :worthless:
  21. Right, done a bit more tonight, as well as a bit of spraying for my mk3, got myself a loom clip for my reverse light switch, just need to know where to wire it into now. Does anybody who has either already done this conversion, or is incredibly clever, know which wires i have to connect my RLS loom to. This is the leftover loom from the auto box. Now i'm guessing the centre one of the three (2 wires yellow/white) was the auto reverse light switch loom? Do i just splice into this? Is it that simple? Also, it says on the guide that i need to replace the accelerator cable as the two are different. Can anyone fill me in on this, my auto one seems to work fine, why does it need replacing.? Cheers all.
  22. Lovely. Been wanting a set of white rims on my flash red vr for ages, cant wait to see what these look like on.
  23. Don't know if it'll be any good on the glass fogs mate, think it's only good for plastics? Might be worth a try though... reeto, still worth getting some though i reckon.
  24. Cheers Matt The conversion is ok, the rebuild was all new to me. Its fairly simple once your shown what to do, just nuts and bolts at the end of the day, just make sure you've got the torque settings right  Its still daunting when it fires up for the first time, but all was good.
