  1. Right then looking at 20vt to buy and the longitudially mounted engines found in passats, if i were to buy 1 whats the difficulty to mount it in my car but transversly, ignore all other stuff like manifolds etc, just actually getting the engine mounted with an o2a box or whatever obviously not the box that would come with the engine. Which way round is the Sharan engine as well.
  2. Just tell the Mrs Corrado's are in your blood now and you wont be the same person without it, you will change, start to argue and maybe divorce eventually and the only way to sort things out between you two would be to buy another, so we can save all the unhappiness and may as well keep it. FTW
  3. I have wondered this too as mine operate the same but just ignored it tbh, they are def 1 touch on the drivers though.

    JMC's G60

On the exact same set up on mine except for a management change to standalone i gained 40lb/ft which was nice and far greater boost control across the rev range.
  5. I do understand where your both coming from and i do too like to see what difference it has made, it was the fact that Rob made a comment on JMC's car after he put the cam in and it lost low down torque with not much gain in the top end kind of thing, now Rob has done the same basically and he loves it more that way although originally on JMC's he prob thought it would have been better with the original cam, so my point was it how it feels in the bum :camp: that matters more than a graph, although i agree its good to see what a difference things have made. So to clarify on paper it can look worse to what you think you want yet actually feel better/more enjoyment/grin factor when driving. I am now stuck in the i want x amount of power and will make it undriveable to get it lol :D its not a daily so feck it who cares, 10-11 second quarters here i come
  6. Yea im not saying to ignore the graphs just dont become obsessed with getting a perfect torque curve or whatever, if it feels good and makes you smile then thats better than any graph.
  7. And i agree you still do prob have the same punch as before but more mid to top, but as i said before stop worrying about graphs so much and see how it actually feels, which it seems i too am right then hahahahaha, now for my next prediction...... Now you are liking the extra urge in the mid to top end range you will find yourself wanting more and more, now if your going 16vG60, you will have the low punch but with a better flowing revvy engine that will make lots and lots of power mid range to top end, which you WILL enjoy a heap load more than the poxy low end pinch :D :D :D  trust me.... see below Yes its def been retired now, its been fun for the last 4 years but i need more mid to top end power now :D see a theme here  :cuckoo: :salute:
  8. Ah so now you have fitted a cam and now maybe feel a little loss low down and gained a little more further up the rev range your starting to like it eh??? :thumb right: Told you
  9. Cheers Kev once again your the man. Yes in an ideal world i would like both good traits of no lag and huge power but i know its not possible. Basically i dont need or use the car as a daily so im going to make it into a very nice toy lol, so im thinking if its possible to have the power band between 4k - 9k on a middle size turbo - to big bastard, ideally 450bhp i had in my mind already and an external wastegate version, rods pistons and valves and maybe and most likely 1900 to help spool the big boy sooner :D I do get the "GT30" is the frame size but they have renamed/rebranded the "names" of the turbos from years ago, as i used to know it the T3 was middle size and T4 was huge so what does this mean now for the manifold side of things? I know it is alot of power for FWD but how do you know its too much 450+, is it possible with the right set up and im not talking just a diff and sticky tyres but full on proper well sorted chassis etc?
  10. Im going AGU now and i was looking into the GT3071R already, so Kev you say its a nice turbo can you shed some light on how nice it is please??? Also i think that will be too small lol im thinking go bigger, looking at Garretts site there seems to be alot of GT30's too, care to explain about them mate.
  11. 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfTH lines corrado.jpg[/attachment:qm27jqrw] Tough 1 that, it all depends on colour i think, if its dark and classy then yes but otherwise its LM's IMG_1862.JPG[/attachment:qm27jqrw]
  12. Im sure if you want 6 speed from an o2m then its custom gearbox mount and moved and custom driveshafts Yeti as its a huge thing, all regardless of whether its a 20v or 24v. So i would go the other expensive route and go something like the Quaiffe or SQSracing stuff
  13. Good work glad its finally finished now, but i thought it was already finished months ago dude....
  14. Well answered as everybody should know you can only have 2 of those :D
  15. Go on Lucy give it to them as much as your getting, i know alot of women would have abandoned here by now, so good on you. The car is not to my taste either tbh, i think it could work more if the lines flowed more, as round the back the orange drops down from the side so if it was painted upto the spoiler it would flow better, but if it was mine which it isnt then i would go and paint the whole car that colour too, in the sun it would just pop so much, think California sunshine.....keep going with it though.
  16. Ah you see your wrong it would give you a good reason to sell up, if you have it dont come back to me when it all goes wrong dude.....
  17. Well with Corrado's you def need to be following with your heart and not your head..
  18. Awesome skills dude its looking fresh as now, im just starting out on the road you have just done and im schitting myself
  19. Any chance of a quick review Kev on the V3's, i will be getting them at some point?
  20. Yea been thinking about it for a long while now and i said before it will give up the ghost again as it already has done in the past so it was inevitable i would be changing at some point just never thought this soon. Its not where i want to be tbh, im going to look into getting the chassis sorted better to cope more, i dont want the extra weight penalty with more power as i will be back to square 1 again.
  21. You mean straight line power
  22. Aye it was 1 of a couple and he sold his on, then he sold it on and the guy who bought it is trying to get it up to 300bhp like mine, he has everything there just needs finishing which wont take much at all, ho posted in the 8v turbo thread and not seen him since. So he might be back around sometime. Only 400 small ponies, should be easy to achieve  see what happens but Kev im chasing you :camp: , i know your changing engine spec :notworthy: so the next rolling road day will be good fun :cuckoo:

    JMC's G60

What was the cost on the front bumper dude, PM me if you want.
  24. It is a cast manifold and it would be easier and cheaper to replace, but when the same thing has happened twice it gets tiresome, and the need for more speed is here again big time so its out with the old and in with the new. Its looking highly likely i will be going for 20 of VW's valves, pretty much the same spec as my engine but without the IHI on it.......... It is rubbish news dude, all ears on the ground from everybody please :salute: basically the cheapest 20vt going thats ok if it needs a rebuild so long as its not too foobared. As above really Stu, going for a 20vt, aiming for 400+ horses.
