My thoughts too as i had mine out on saturday, bloody heavy still
-
Jeez that was not a well flowing engine then, on the 50mm on mine it made 1.1bar
-
When i swapped mine from cloth to recaro leather electric the weight was very noticeable, but cant comment on an actual weight.

Where is the safest place to put axle stands on the front of the car to work underneath the car, im always paranoid about where i put them, as i have to remove the downpipe, turbo, manifold and im going to be under there for quite a while i should imagine so i want the safest possible way to do it. Cheers

I think it just needs a rethink on the rear tyres, its looking slightly awkward atm. Good looking car though mate. -
I remember the days when the lax power brigade used to fit the fiat handles and would have been frowned upon by the VW community but since Greg Howells fitted them to his Mk4 it seems no longer are they frowned upon, they do look good though on his.

Everytime i have had Falkens i have been less than impressed by the levels of grip especially in the wet.

I ran grey injectors on the 50mm pulley with a 1900cc and big valve P+P head with piper 285 in, not that it really helps your decision Dan.

Sod it im going 4wd :D :cuckoo: :norty: It literally will take me years to do but im going for it, definately this time its staying off the road till its the car i want, not bothered about Haldex as its more weight and i would need to do ABS and i doesnt fit in with the whole era of the car. Looks like the Mrs will be needing a new car now, get rid of the old finance on hers and buy a cheap fun run around for us both, lets get a VR then :D
-
We need specs of this thing, with a step by step guide to building 1 as well......
-
Well if you would hate to have a car like mine then you really really dont want to be buying my engine, its always doing a gasket in somewhere along the lines, well i say always its done the gasket between the turbo and manifold and now the suspected manifold to head, i have added you Andy to MSN. Anybody know an answer to my 4wd conversion.

Whilst the guy was still doing the MOT he said i will show you what its failing on whilst it was on the ramps, so i go over with him and on the rear FK konigsport damper he shows me an apparently seal/silver washer type ring thing, he says its popped out of the strut and its damp (it had been raining here) so i say well whats the other side like which he had not checked yet, low and behold that side is the same, its "popped out" and its damp. he then back tracks saying if it was 1 side then its another tick in the failure sheet but as its both sides then he will give it the benefit of the doubt, so basically you dont know what your on about then eh, as if you would fail it for 1 side but you wont for 2 cos you dont know what your looking at. Anybody know on these coilovers what the piece is that im on about, basically you have the strut body then where the thin silver damper leg comes out of the strut body there is a silver plate kind of thing sat there that moves freely, can spin it and move it up and down. Well its now officially getting sorn'd again, im going to do a coxy i think, :D Anybody know how big a part a rallye rear floor pan plays in the 4wd conversions, i know you can cut out the original corrado pan and just make your own but is it just a case the rallye item has a shallower spare wheel recess to allow more space for the rear diff or does the diff/anything else also use it for mounting anything?
-
Well you need to check out next months issue of Performance VW then as there is 1 in there. Also i did a thread on a RWD rear engined VR6 turbo Corrado a couple of months ago, see if its still around.

Yea this guy was adamant the tyres were illegal which they probably are but they are proper borderline so covering his own back i suppose, gave me the speech of i drive down the road, have a crash blah blah blah...... but to be fair he said the exact same thing regarding the gasket/lambda
-
Well it would have been but i have got a big disappointment. Failed MOT Failed Generally wear and tear stuff 2 front tyres that i thought were legal but only just for an MOT but he says not damn hazard switch only worked 1 side gave it a hit and they all came on but he noted it down as not working OSF brake pipe excessive corrosion Emissions were at 6%, he tried to cheat it with more revs and got it to 4.26, needed 3.5 Advisory's NSF brake pipe slightly corroded Rear brake pads on limit So im not going to santa pod and doubt i will make it to Stealth now, gutted to say the least. He said it sounds like my gasket between the head and exhaust manifold is blowing as its slightly ticky in sound so hoping thats confusing the lambda which is adding more fuel which has made the emissions high, we will se when i take it to bits.

So you meant deleted mirrors, i would have thought and i did think smooted was what jeff put up.

Looks proper bad ass now from the side. I must have missed it but whats happened to the charger, has it grenaded?

The dial holder is out of an Audi 80 and the VDO gauges are too, there are 2 different types and depending on whether you have an early or late dash wil decide which 1 you should go for, mine suits the early better as the needles match the dash needles, just painted mine in the clocks on the dash orange (get pics up tomorrow, and the other style that suit a late dash better the needles are the same style but the dials/gauges do not face towards the driver like mine do and on both style dial holders they are pretty much the same shape to fit in the dash but both require different amounts of trimming to fit in, all in took around 3-4 hours to do and it still needs tweaking a little.

Chris just do the VR/late hub change

So what is the physical difference between the 20VT Engines?

Different turbos K03 Ko3S Ko4 225 has Ko4 and forged crank and pistons There is diferent heads and manifolds small and large port variants And its the magic 300bhp which round these parts its turning into the magic 400bhp club -
Am i the only 1 to think it aint gonna happen Well you should look in the for sale section at the VR6 turbo 4wd for sale, and RWD is a huge job, probably more so than doing a 4wd conversion

Just got mine fitted earlier today and i am truly amazed as has been said how you can do these for the money you do them for. Very very well made even down to the cable lengths they fit just perfectly dude or at least how i have got it all in. Not had a proper chance to see the lights in the daytime but at night they are really bright that you dont have to look at them as they catch your eye just right without been over powering at all. They proper rock man. 8) as and i :notworthy: MrBeige. Everybody should have 1 of these.......
