  1. IMG_0184.JPG[/attachment:3g36bblg] Got to get a photo up whilst it's clean!!
  2. Welcome to the forum  Have a little search of your symptoms (over fuelling G60) and I'm certain there'll be lots of info for you. The blue temp sender is normally the first culprit to change then you work your way through the ignition system and earth leads. Good luck
  3. Yay for the wavetrac.......boo for the salted roads so it's staying in the garage
  4. Not really, there is a meet with a group called the Nomads who are a friendly VW club that are based in Hemel and they have monthly meetings. Keep your eye out on the meetings and events forum on here for it. I'm in Aylesbury so as soon as the weather sorts itself out we can meet up if you car is still playing up. That or Stealth up near Banbury would be a great place to get it looked at, or Voodoo near Hemel. Hope it gets sorted out!!
  5. Well, best to start with the easy stuff. First remove and clean and check your spark plugs, replace if needed. Then, blue temp sender, HT leads and remove and clean all the earth leads. If you are close to me (bucks/oxon) then I don't mind coming over with mine to see if all the earths match up. Hope you get it sorted dude!!
  6. I love mine, very supple and the car handles great, got the coilovers fitted with poly bushes and new top mounts, though i've never driven a Corrado with anything other than old standard suspension so can't compare.
  7. To echo henny, alot of work has gone into this engine to be used as a weekend/track day car so the baffled sump is most necessary! After a lot of searching last night the only other one (which looks like it will fit) I have found is this http://www.moroso.com/catalog/categorydisplay.asp?catcode=11397 It adds no depth to the pan whilst still adding capacity (I have no idea how true what I'm typing is just relaying from the web site) and the trap door style baffles seem to be a good design. Will be e-mailing some of the suppliers in the states to find out costs as my next step
  8. Does anyone know if there are any other companies that make a baffled sump for a G60, or is it just Schrick? If the Schrick is the best one for the money then I'll go for that but I like to compare a few products first :D
  9. I think the head from my old engine is still loitering about at Voodoo if you need one, had done 134K miles but it was working ok as far as I could tell. If you are interested I can get some pictures of it to see if it's any use to you
  10. spotted a tornado red C with a black/carbon bonnet. Was a few cars behind me on the M40 before coming off at J6 so couldn't wave or anything, so if you are on here
  11. Spotted 2 today, First was a dark coloured C parked on the south bank at brands for the DTM, was too far away to get a better description as I was sat on the Paddock hill grandstand. Gutted the Corrado in the Toyo Tyres cup was replaced with a vento but was a great weekend!! Second was on the way back, a nice VR6 in dark green going through the Dartford Tunnel, sounded very nice as you pulled away from the toll. I was passenger in the mrs' A3 cabriolet so didn't wave
  12. good question, as far as I know it's a PG with 82.5mm pistons and 114mm rods and a steel crank from an ABA (the crank bit I'm really unsure of, was a long time ago that I went through all these options!) But if that sounds wrong I can email and hope eurospec can remember :D Just waiting for Rob at G-werks to give me a date for the re-map and I can then get some figures for a good pub debate :norty:
  13. Right, now it's all in and running I can give a quick update. I can't really drive the car in anger yet as I'm bedding in the engine but as the car will do some good speeds below 3.5K rpm I have had a little play in the corners..... WOW  :notworthy: it is awesome!! I've never driven a car with a Quaife in so can't comment on it as a comparison but it took alot of provocation in the wet to get some understeer and when it did it lasted for a split second before getting grip back and pulling you around the corner, and to my grateful surprise it even does it when you lift off the throttle   I'm really impressed with it and can't wait to get it on track and used in anger for a proper report. p.s. more info can be found at http://www.limited-slip.com, they have a section on the wavetrac with more technical info
  14. :ignore: could not believe that happened!! got some bedding in to do before it gets mapped but I hope to get some decent pics of it soon to add on here. Car feels great to be in again and the engine feels sweet (below 3K rpm at least!!) and I should be at the Cow roast for the next meet for a viewage. Engine in and fitted Breaking in after the car alarm locking me out, the bit of bad luck for the day  More updates when i get some decent photos and can drive it properly!!
  15. Be careful, that is not the way of the Corrado ;)
  16. It's all in, but something happened to the chip so another is being written of me to bed the engine in with. Decided to get the alloys refurbed while I'm waiting for that. Saying that, I was beginning to believe my ownership of a corrado was all a figment of my imagination  I just hope it's worth the wait and hassle it's been to get it together!!
  17. I was going to use the method that A.G. Bell recommends in his tuning books. So I'll be running the car at the lowest speed in 5th, floor it for a few seconds to put pressure on the rings and snap the throttle shut to draw the oil up the cylinders, repeated 12-15 times. Then run as normal for 200 miles, trying to keep the engine speed alternating, no continuous running for 200 miles. Change the oil then run as pianowire has mentioned for 2000 miles with an oil and filter change halfway through. Going to be tough to keep the right foot calm
  18. Cheers David, best get to VW to get a stock of oil and filters!!
  19. Hi guys, should be picking my car up on saturday (yay!) and as it's a brand new engine should I use a different oil to the normal synta silver I have been using on the old engine? Cheers for any help :D
  20. I have found this company http://www.christullettexhausts.com/ and will be going in for a quote when my engine is finished (yes, i know) After being almost laughed at by another motorsport exhaust company I found Chris to be a really nice and helpful bloke, I hope he can squeeze as much power with as little noise as possible. I'll report back when I get the quote for the exhaust.
  21. get a 'boost return delete' mod, plenty of info on here about it and can be bought from either G-Werks or ebay. This will give the sameish sound as a dump valve. Do a quick search dude
  22. 28 with 11 years protected ncd, fully comp with all mods declared, parked on the street and my quote for this year is £502 pretty pleased with that considering the engine mods
  23. Don't know of them being in another car you can salvage them from, but they aren't expensive from G-Werks new tbh
  24. yes i can :D http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/pics-videos-buffet-149/303962-i-washed-my-car-peanut-butter-pics.html the oil in it does the job
