looking good dude! Thinking about some banded steels for mine too, how wide did you go?
-
brilliant news. Thank you :notworthy:

I've been looking at houses the past few weeks and without the C I can't visualise garage space very well. There seems to be a difference in width between garges built in the 80's and 90's and the newer garage doors. I've measured a new garage door and it came up at 83''. I have looked on the internet and have found sites saying the C is either 66'' or 70'' so I was wondering if someone would mind measuring the width of their C from wing mirror tip to tip and with them pushed against the body work so i can feel confident mine will fit. Sorry for the long way of asking a short question and thanks for help in advance :salute:

Big spec G60 build, ideas/experience help please
MattWilde replied to MattWilde's topic in Engine Bay
Mine isn't ready yet but as soon as it's all done i'l report on in. If i get the time I'll type up a good article for the sprinter too. I have lightenend rods and the bottom end was balanced by Eurospec in the US. The flywheel has been lightened and balanced by Oselli engineering near Oxford, couldn't get the lot done together logistically but if it doesn't work together well i'll get the flywheel balanced to the crank another time. -

Thanks :D the good thing about it taking a while to get here has meant i could afford to have my 'box rebuilt with a wavetrac diff, it's been like having it all on interest free credit  it's been a year and 3 months since driving my C, stuck with diesel vans, a knackered Mk11 Gti and a saab barge, i really really can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111111111one -
Big spec G60 build, ideas/experience help please
MattWilde replied to MattWilde's topic in Engine Bay
It's been such a long time since i ordered the engine ( a year ) i'm not sure if i'll be completely accurate but i believe it's a 2.0 ABA crank with an 82.5 bore and a 92.8 stroke and 144mm con rods. Head was as above, not sure if it was custom cast or a ported standard head to be honest. does any of that make sense? I'm ok with the workings of an engine but all of this stuff goes above my head :confused4:  -

What's happening with mine? it's taking forever to get the bits!! got a call from Voodoo today to tell me the final bits had arrived from G-werks (thanks Darren!) so it's now a case of throwing it all together and sticking it in the engine bay....then the painful bedding in period :( fingers crossed for an end of the month bit of joy, only been 1 year and 3 months since i melted 2 pistons  -

it's such a nice feeling to ge a G60 running sweet, looking forward to a trip to G-werks myself this year once my engine is fitted and bedded in and i'll take some old shoes to be chewed!! -
that is fantastic work!! love the car spit roast, and I'll be joining the queue for the de-rusting of my car later this year ;) can't wait to see this progress

The main prob with the VR6 is easy to spot.......................it's not a G60  :ignore: I'll get my coat....

My '91 H doesn't, was an option on the early C's and standard on the late ones?
-
http://www.wide-wheels.co.uk/ hope it helps :D
-
I have an early one, it's a 91 but I don't know the exact date of registration. Has a late bonnet and grille but that were put on afterwards. The leather is the same as the one pictured though, so I guess it was standard

The kosei's look good, but seem to need spacers to look great. The BBS look sweet, maybe a refurb funded by the sale of the alloys to match the light silver of the kosei alloys would add that finishing touch. The light silver really suited the dark colour of the car

oh the horror, the horror :(

being a shortarse has it's benefits. I find mine comfortable, onlya pain in the summer when the leather gets really hot and burns my legs. i'm about 5'8'' ish :) :(

sorry to hijack a little, but i have weitec coilovers and poly bushes front and rear and was wondering on the effect upper and lower front braces and a rear brace would have. I'm not bothered by looks so was going for the weichers painted steel items from dubmeister. Any thoughts? shame they can't be 'borrowed for a weekend really....

Another thing to think about about, and' it's what swayed my decision to get my engine rebuilt rather than selling. Any car can have it's problems, you could buy this TT and the engine go pop in a year. You know the bodywork and suspension in sound on the C, so with a fresh engine and gearbox you have a car you know the history of and have more confidence of it lasting a god few years with no problems.

mine is sitting very nicely on top of the tv, pride of place :D my petrol head friend thought it was a great touch. Merry Christmas to you all!!
