  1. I'm currently reconditioning my seats, I've got the rears and door cards in my bedroom and rub conditioner into them every couple of weeks, sometimes sitting them on the lawn to warm up while I'm doing it. I've also used fibreglass to repair the door cards and re glued the leather in a lot of places. Sounds a bit excessive reconditioning them every few weeks, but mine have been mistreated badly, and after looking at Judith and Vag-Hags recently, I know how much work needs doing to mine to bring them up to a reasonable standard.
  2. I quite like the Mk2 fiesta RS turbo.
  3. Love how big the turbot looks in that picture. :)
  4. ROFL. I thought the company behind Tesla were having "issues" and getting the right gearbox was also proving problematic, with some stripping themselves with the enormous torque delivered by the motor.
  5. Isnt that an actual tube of sealant that you buy from VW? Yeah, you just need a thin layer of sealant.
  6. Yeah, stacking radiator cores isn't too bad, as the air will get through, although I might be tempted to try uprating the fan, I'm used to seeing intercoolers, aircon, gearbox and engine oil coolers rammed in front of the main rads, but there is nothing solid in front of the rad core, and everything works swimmingly, until shite builds up in the gap between them.
  7. I'd love to mate, but I'm clearly too far. Good luck though.
  8. Sorry, I didn't make myself entirely clear, I have no issue with FMICs, oil coolers etc, but that example has the fairly large headers for the IC and the large bore piping sat in front of the radiator which will restrict airflow. Rather than just the core of the I/C, which air will pass through. I feel that obstructions like that will impair the performance of a system. I realise that the grill and horns are in the way also, but the air has space between the obstruction and the radiator to diffuse and thus pass through the entire core radiator, the FMIC headers/pipework are a lot closer to the radiator, and won't let the diffusion occur. It's also worth mentioning that if people are planning to fit FMICs like that, they should leave enough room to clean between the FMIC and radiator as grass and detritus builds up between them blocking the radiator cores, or make some way to tip the radiator back to get in and clean the space out. Looking forward to my next flaming.... ;)
  9. Good work dude! Much running in to do now?
  10. That doesn't look ideal to me in terms of radiator cooling.
  11. MG Maestro turbo with bodykit? How's the car running now John?
  12. Cheers dude, yeah, hope to have suspension, paint and interior done for Octobertime when the last of my VR engine parts will arrive, to be followed by some port matching, shot blasting painting and rebuildage. Need to have her done by Christmas or there will be cattle sat on the bonnet. ;) Yeah, hopefully we'll clear a barn out this weekend, so I'll get some snaps of the lineup. I did take it up the lane to make sure the battery was good and get everything turning and free :) :( Thanks to Mr Monkey  , I have more information on Zinga. It would appear that it's supposed to turn back to a liquid phase when more Zinga is put on top which makes me think that spraying is definitely the way forward. The layer cures with exposure to moisture and air, curing can be sped up by spraying water onto it. I will mostly be buying hammerite special metal primer, and satin black and finishing the top mounts in the near future. :) Cheers for your comments. :)
  13. Hehe. I do like it when the car is shiny, but I couldn't show it. far too many stone chips which makes me sad, as I absolutely love the colour. Hopefully, will get it all polished and waxed soon. Going to do a panel a night in my drive. :) The VR is going to be quite utilitarian too, new paint, but it won't be show&shine standard judging by my wobbly hands
  14. Today I have mostly been taking the day off, so I started fiddling with the cars. Firstly the Corrado badge on the Valver was falling off, as I discovered at BVF, so I picked clips up and whipped the badge off. I cleaned the back of the car up with petrol to remove the stodge under the badge (not all would come off, but I got bored and the boot was going to fill up with rain if I didn't get on, so I clayed, scratch-xed the patch, followed by megs stage 1 and 2, and a good coat of carnubra wax, I then took the badge indoors and gave it the same treatment, bit tricky with all the little holes in the lettering, but I'm really glad I did it. Feeling rather pleased with myself, I then started on the VR, I've been fannying around with the interior for ages now, but I guess some mechanical parts need some Toad love too. Hopefully the interior will be going back in later this month, but while I fiddle with that, I also want to repaint my new shocks. They had a few small patches of rust, so I stripped them right back and have put 2 layers of Zinga in them, before I get some yellow paint to finish them. I am rather dissapointed with the Zinga, defnitely feel that spraying rather than brushing would get a better result, but the main thing is that the shocks *shouldn't* rust again, guess we'll see.... Sorry about the quality of the pics it appears i shake whilst holding a camera phone :( otherwise ,I'm building a nice pile of parts for the VR :)

    gear linkage issue

I've got one on my phone, but no cable. I'll pm you my number so I can send it to you if you want. Basically it's linkage, washer, cable end, bolt, shift wieght, nut, from the bottom up. The washer has to be the right size, ie. doesn't go over the stepped section of the bolt.
  16. 4 equidistantly spaced holes in the rubber between the outside and inside? If so, that is correct.
  17. Or wearing animals as hats while driving.

    VR6 Coil pack

You can repair the coilpacks with JB weld or similar, do a search loads of people have done it.

    ABS relays

I get similar behaviour from my ABS. If it's a cheap usb VAGCOM cable, then it probably is the cable that is at fault. Try getting a serial one to try the ABS with.

    Corrado VR6

Are they recaros? They look wider than standard.
  21. I'd try to stick to engines with coil packs on, they seem far more smooth.
  22. Hehehehe. You've resurfaced briefly then?? Coming to BVF?
  23. Cheers dude! I think I'll get some black paint and put a couple of good coats on to reduce the porosity and then wack some of the BBQ paint on. What could go wrong? :)
