  1. Yup!! I've not used VAG COM to bleed them before and the brakes were fine afterwards, but we didn't lose all of the fluid.
  2. Do the abs pump first, theres 2 nipples on the top of it, then the master cylinder, and yes, exactly the same bleeding procedure as for the brake calipers.
  3. That actually looks quite nice, something I didn't imagine myself saying about the new Rocco. Also as a further moderately O/T comment, in this months evo, there's also an article on the VW cup racing with a goof 1.4TSI and a Caddy tdi, with the caddy taking the one of the rados on the inside in a couple of pictures.
  4. I don't entirely remember. But I do have some driveshafts knocking around that I can look at... I wouldn't fit the joint without the dished washer as there would be a fair bit of play which would eventually lead to something going very wrong no doubt. The nut mentioned in that thread is actually the new hub nut supplied in the kit. Bloody Americans!
  5. Yeah, but it was limited to 30 mph, as it was only held together with dwarf spittle. :(
  6. You don't really want brand new tyres for a track day, the tread can tear off. If you really want track tyres on your track wheels, get some R888s etc, and a tow bar and little trailer to tow them in :)
  7. Only thing that would make that look better is to get some bra in the shot.... :) Shame we didn't get a chance to see it in the flesh this week.
  8. Those engines might make 0-60 "slowly" in their current homes, but there would be a significant weight saving if you fitted it to a rado. Plus... What do 0-60 times count for in real life anyway??? Supercharged's PD130 rado is supposed to be great for cruising in.
  9. By being a bit gentle on the car you'll see a huge difference in economy. Averaged 35mpg over 1100 miles this weekend with 3 of us and a lot of luggage in the car. Was around 36mpg on the way up, and that was sticking to 70-80, motorways, and twisty A roads. The last 140 miles of A road and Motorway I stuck to 70ish and got 39.8mpg out the valver, going to seriously consider how I drive in the future. :)
  10. Think they might well be. £50 plus vat exchange at GSF for new ones.
  11. Is it a beige squareback polo? When do you think the rado will be making it's first public appearance then?
  12. :) Nice mileage. I think I prefer the idea of a proper cable attached to the throttle body, especially with a retrofitted engine.
  13. Do a search on here, this has been covered loads, I think there is a specific thread on them in the suppliers section (Which is where this ought to be). From memory, peoples experiences have not always been positive. Edit: Beaten to it, twice :(

    JMC's G60

CNC heads are a company too, who use cnc machines to flow thier heads. Just to get rid of any confusion :)
  15. Yup. Click on "Advanced search" Then type the words you want with a + in front like "+16v +better +than +vr6" in the box, click on search topics, not posts, and roberts your mothers brother.
  16. Bonnet release cable grommet probably. Or your door was open...

    Tyres deflating

Alternatively get an almost finished bottle of fairy liquid and fill with water, squirt the soapy water onto the rim and leaks should show up then too.
  18. Was dissapointingly damp today :( Sorry dude.
  19. Do a search, this has been covered loads... There are ways to get the bonnet open to replace the cable. Most involve being a ball-ache.

    VR6 Baffled sump?

I thought that the alloy ones provided greater capacity and increased cooling? Or did I get confused again? Good to see you back John, how's the car going? Will you be at Stanford?
  21. That is some awesome work. I'd pictured the camo being far more coarse.
  22. Oh dear :( 2 courses of action, drop the sump, or undo the engine mounts and jack the engine up... That circlip is a right turd to do. Made me say a few rude words :bad-words:
  23. Bleed the ABS unit through the nipples on the top, and the master cylinder. If it's still spongy, might be worth letting it settle for a day or so, or using it carefully before rebleeding it. Would be interested to hear how the bleeding process with VAG COM works, I've never tried. :)
