  1. It is nice and easy to remove the front end and gives you so much more space to work, I'd definitely do it if you've time. I think you can get genuine rads for around £150 from TPS, but I'm not certain. Still have the rear beam, can take some photos, but i'm not convinced it'll fit in the back of the VR for the journey up to stealth.
  2. I'd take the front end off, but if the inlet and alternator are coming off anyway, then you should have room. I've used a pattern part on mine, around £100 from a radiator specialist near me, works fine, but you might be better off with a genuine one. One issue is that Dave's fancy brackets require some extra supports to get them to fit. The end tanks will deteriorate with age, and I wouldn't bother recoring a radiator unless the tanks were nice and new. My original VR radiator went similarly to yours Phil, the top tube split after the bonnet release cable guide rubbed against it over the years.
  3. Needs bleeding, if the fluid has been depleted then you've pushed air into the brake lines. Hence the sponginess.
  4. :) I've been out in Junkies car and it frightened me, absolutely awesome bit of kit. Have fun with it!
  5. Pah, the Ford, Over 50's is clearly gonna be the best. :luvlove:
  6. The key has a chip in it. You need to get the new key coded to the ECU. Sorry, should have been more clear!
  7. The sensor ring picks up the immobiliser signal, not the ignition barrel.
  8. For referance the plates are 6mm thick which is 3.5mm thicker than the plates that hold your rear beam to the chassis. I think the picture is deceiving? Fair enough Darren. What are the plates made of? Do the new bolts screw into the plate so you have 6mm of thread essentially? I'm not trying to be a pain in the arse, I'm just interested in the engineering of them.
  9. We all know that the only "real" corrado is the 16v after all. :luvlove:
  10. Don't float my boat TBH. Grade 8 bolts are not strong enough for suspension components IIRC, and it looks a pretty thin bit of plate to be hanging the rear axle off. How do they fit? Do they bolt to the rear axle mounting points then the rear axle bolts to them, or are they offset spacers for the stub axles? Crack pipe looks good, and competatively priced compared to the Gruvenparts unit a lot of us have.
  11. Have you seen the price of Storm badges????
  12. It is. The paintwork is so much better, the silver speedies look good on it, and it seems like a lifetime ago. I'm not sure what I weighed then, I think I'm getting denser though as I'm sure I wasn't *that* heavy despite the massive multi-multi chins. Lost 3 stone since Christmas through pleurisy, having my soul crushed, and then some determination to make myself look better, although I put a few pounds on in the last month again.
  13. have you toad anything with it yet? ...sorry...bored... That's terrible.... And yes. :)
  14. Brands Hatch meet, September 2007 or so. The VR attended two meets, Brands, and E38 I think. I'm relatively hairless at the moment. Well, a few mm across the face. I seem to be getting thicker fur over the rest of me though. You about at the weekend Joe? Might be available for a cuddle..... :D It's awesome. The other day I reversed up too close to a post. Completely missed it with the tow ball and slammed the bumper into it....
  15. Cleaned injectors fitted and new plugs. Seems to idle lots better. Still only 30mpg though :( Was given some pics of it from when I first took it out to play in 2007. :) Thanks to Nikki and Gav
  16. x2 That reminds me of earlier this year Jim, fishing all the bits of guide out of toad's VR sump :) no wonder it had been making some funny noises. Hehe.. yeah.. that was a really, really great weekend :) Well, apart from the fun of getting to Stonor Park in the worst traffic I've ever seen! But I digress.. Good news on having had the chains done - just a little bit of left over stuff - the sieve in the oil pump doing its job properly :) Glad you enjoyed it. Despite a good clean and a new oil pump, it still whines when cold. We'll have to do it again, perhaps on a different weekend...
  17. They took an arbitary (probably your peak power) point and showed all the values at that point, i.e. wheel power, torque, flywheel power, AFR etc.
  18. Torque figures sound bloody good to start off with! Will be good to see how it turns out. :)
  19. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=67940&hilit=inlet+sensor+connection&start=0
  20. The small connection by the throttle body isn't supposed to have connections. The inlet temp sensor I think is supposed to have the connector that is loomed with the 2 thermostat temp sensors, and the other black coolant sensor is connected to the wire that runs down the front of the engine and across by the front crossmember. It's all been mentioned on here before. Try searching for it.
  21. I can sell you a 4 cylinder corrado subframe if you'd like? I'm based in Winchester.
  22. Or late US spec VRs with a different inlet? Any pics?

    Locating tdc

There is a mark on the aux belt pulley on the crank which lines up with a moulding mark on the plastic cover. This has probably come up before, have you tried a search? Edit, loads of information here
  24. Would be interesting to see how you get on with them.
  25. I'll try to dig mine out and send them up Dave. Been snowed under recently. :)
