No problem, i bought a loom about 5yrs ago and fitted it at the weekend, made a massive difference on full beam, but not so much on normal beam.
-
Just fixed it in works car park, was the end of the hose had split (samco again), although think i may have overtightened the jubilee clip and that split the hose.
-
I think these two come recommended http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=41616 http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=83400

If i fit ARP head studs to a block, can they be removed from that block and reused in another engine?
-
I just noticed that fitting the uprated headlight loom stops this, its like driving around with it held it. Much brighter.

Can't believe this car, its the never ending story. Got up today and the coolant light was flashing, drive to work thinking it was head gasket again. Noticed once at work it was dribbling a constant stream out from under the aux water pipe. Can i delete this pump and join the two hoses together, looking for a temp fix so i can drive back home again.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/In-Valves-and-Ex-Valves-Set-for-VW-VR6-2-8L-2-9l-AAA-ABV-AMY-Turbo-Golf-/190895263054?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c723e8d4e Anyone heard or used parts from this company, popped up on my ebay searches and not noticed them on there in the past. Looking to start collecting all parts to rebuild my 12v.

I hope its my alternator, still got this flickering of power and really annoying now, especially as its dark these days and i notice the light flickering like a candle. Held a screwdriver to the alternator and my ear and it sounded a little noisy, but when putting a multimeter on battery the power seems ok.

Fitted mine back together a couple of times (VR6 corrado) they weren't new items but all i remember doing was filling it full of the black cv grease. Did notice a rubber flange in there as well, but hard to find where its covered in grease. Can't find "D3" on google, is it a grease or a sealant?

Want a new alternator, noticed the 3 used ones i have are 70a, 90a and 120a Am sure the original that came with car was the 90a and made by Valeo, the 70a is a bosch and can't remember the other one. Is there a lot of difference between buying a new one and having one rebuilt.

I use beru leads, think i got them from gsf or vwspares, been fine for a few years now, must of done 50,000miles with them
-
Worries me as i replaced both mine in december, so nearly a year ago. I did buy the VW stuff from dealers, just hope i fitted them properly.

There is a small round copper bit in the gearbox that the starter goes into when you turn key. Mine had totally worn away and caused horrible noises.
-
Yep am sure I've read on here about people cutting the bonnet.
-
Some mercs have the VR6 as well.

Mclaren F1 GTR wing mirrors. Am going to Mclaren soon to order some new glass...

"To get vagcom to communicate with the ABS ECU you will need to set the latency to 5 for the com port you are using. Go into device manager on your pc and under ports select the port you are using for Vagcom and I think you have to go into advanced settings and change the latency setting to 5. This should cure the problem." just found that from a thread i was using, i never actually tried this bit ^^^
-
Yeah, it plugs into the bit by the gearstick and reads from there, then to USB on laptop. It was just setting up the com ports and some other settings i came unstuck on, but i gave up really easy and didn't have a major problem that needed solving. Was a thread on here about it, latency setting or something
-
I think you can read the ABS ecu with the vagcom stuff, I have the VCDS lite from rosstech and the ebay lead, but had a bit of a time trying to get it setup and read properly. Tbh i gave up and plan to try it another day.

Mine is crap in ice and just wet or damp roads. Hardly any grip. Got stuck on a very slight incline once and couldn't move. Every car behind just drive by like normal. Even old grey haired little ladies. Had to turn around in the end.
-
How many miles has the head done? I presume it could be used on a non turbo vr? Where abouts are you?

Spotted this on ebay today, thought of this thread http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vw-Corrado-jetta-fan-with-housing-357121207F-/261316557389?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cd7ae3a4d
