  2. Do samco make these? Am in need of some, spose i could always go to VW and buy some, but the rest of mine are samco hoses.
  3. Am trying this job at the moment, got all the bits for the special tool, but i just seem to squish the bush up and is one side that just won't go in :( ---------- Post added at 11:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:06 AM ---------- Got them in now, changed the way i held my special tool finally got it in the hole. Lots of lube really helped.
  4. Excited for you, your old one really inspired me, being the same great colour as mine. Good luck. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
  5. Roof chop a polo? Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
  6. Let the whole forum come down and organise a mass game of cricket in the street, am sure we could hit a few things and get some complaints, hopefully the kid!!
  7. I have a vision in my head of a corrado wearing audi UR quattro arches and bonnet. Would need the 4wd to match. Or an Ultima GTR kit, seem quite reasonable to me (wasn't their someone on here building one) ---------- Post added at 12:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:52 PM ---------- http://www.ultimasports.co.uk/Content.aspx?f=gtrprices
  8. I'd of gone out by now and put a knife through the ball. It'll be fine
  9. Such a good price i'm thinking of buying them to refurb, even though i already have front and rears  Couldn't find any rears when i wanted mine and had to buy them new from VW @ £90 a caliper
  10. this isn't where i got mine, but it was similar to this http://www.cabletiesonline.co.uk/cable-tie-bases/screw-on-cradle-small-/prod_34.html £1.60 for 100
  11. Yellow should go on the front mount iirc, it better do as thats how i've done it
  12. My mate that helps with all the tight bolts is over 20st in weight, I am quite small so get stuck without a big bar. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
  13. Lol, thats unlucky. If I have any spares id send you one, but didnt need to renew mine. Just undid the flywheel bolts with a rachet and socket and I was holding the crank bolt with a breaker bar. Did the same to do them up, 100nm + 90 degrees. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
  14. Nah, still missing loads, but it should be all assembly from now on. Knowing my luck the head gasket will go as soon as I get it back on the road. Spark plugs all looked good and the same colour, so think thats a good sign, first time I changed them part of the ceramic was missing. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
  15. Love this song from it Been whistling it most days
  16. I dont' get on with the CCGB forum, loads too slow and tests my patience I think the two should combine forces really, seems silly to have the two clubs.
  17. Will look it up tomorrow, how many do you need, not sure how many I bought but only need about 3 or 4. Think I might of bought different sizes to find the best fit. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
  18. What we need is a diagram of the car with parts you can click on then get the price. Tbh the prices change all the time, the tensioner bolts that was £22 in the guide is now £47
  19. mine is due, rushing to get car finished so i don't have to insure my runaround again, will be phoning around soon Can i swap cars a few months into a policy and pay the difference?
  20. Just did my timing chains at the weekend (with the help of a mate), Well more like my mate did them with the help of me  Thought i'd share the pics of what came out. This guide was broken in two before removal Should be a bit here on top of the screw hole, was missing altogether and no where to be seen Upper Tensioner pretty worn.. Was actually quite an easy job, considering neither of us had done anything like it before, i'd stripped everything off and my mate came down to undo the hard bolts and catch the gearbox  Think i upset him by referring to him as ballast when he was holding the crank still to undo flywheel
  21. A few France ones as well
  22. I've found something that works just as well (imo) Its these clips that you screw onto the studs, then the cable tie passes through it. Might have a photo somewhere, i gave up looking for the studded ones. ---------- Post added at 1:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 1:10 PM ---------- Bit hard to see, but the clip you can see here, bottom right of pics, just screwed onto the stud, without the cable tie fitted yet
  23. Got the timing chains and associated bits done yesterday. All went really well using the guide from here and some help from a mate. Some pics, didn't get them for every step as was busy cutting my hands on the gearbox This is where the gearbox was Took clutch and flywheel off BEFORE: AFTER: Has the mk4 upgraded top tensioner now. Will get pics of what came off, bits were snapped in half and the top tensioner worn right the way through and starting cutting into the metal part :! was shocking
  24. Looks interesting, I could be up for it when my car is back on the road, am about to hit 200k miles so should benefit. How far are you from Essex? Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2
  25. rubber bits look upside down to me, but i said that before and was wrong  maybe i just like saying it
