not a clue, i don't think they should do are all the rims the same offset? obviously if something is bent that would cause it, but its hard to tell from where i'm sitting
-
nothing, car will stay being used as it is. won't be able to use my foam gun otherwise
-
Advice pls: best affordable option to lower this:
Jim Bowen replied to snattrass's topic in Drivetrain
must say i been trying to get the same answers, had to stick to a budget and ended up with Weitec Ultra GT kit, Springs and shocks, not driven car much since, but it feels really good compared to before, still a comfy ride but nice and stiff round the bends -
looks very nice mate, i bet it pretty loud
-
thats looks fantastic mate, i'd be very happy with that 8)

Rear ''Corrado'' badge (not ''VR6'') anyone.....?
Jim Bowen replied to sprinterVR6's topic in Exterior
there is a place that do them but they about £50, which is why i haven't got one yet, decided to go all black badges instead -
yes, had mine dropped last week and its so much better now, how it should of been
-

quick question to fix this, do i just replace the pipe, fill up water in expansion tank, or do i need to do anything to get any air out of system etc?
-
nice one, i'll get back to you if needed. hopefully i'll know by tomorrow if they can get one
-
nice!!!! my dad has a black a3 too, and yes sounds alright for a diesel
-
the split all the way from the head to the bit where the t-joint comes out, so about 3" long
-
he said he could fix it but i said may as well jut get it home, i didn't want to break down again etc prehaps jacking the engine etc up to fit track rods has disturbed it enough to break
-
thanks and thanks for the offer, but i think i'll be off to the dealers tomorrow after a quick search it seems thats the only quick option, but think i'm going to look into samco's
-
i'm going to leave it for now, if it only protects the bumpstop i don't mind as this suspension will be upgraded in a year or so
-
i only got car back on road yesterday after sorting the steering/suspension and today whilst driving loads of steam starting pouring out of car have found a big split in the pipe shown i guess thats the cause and water pouring onto exhaust was the steam. am thinking of ungrading all the water hoses now, but first need to get this pipe asap, should i go to VW or elsewhere?
-
yeah, its a reasonable arch gap now, pretty much the same as most standard cars you see, just the roof line is a lot lower than most
-
should i get it all off and refit or not? will it need tracking again? if i just leave this what will happen? will car explode?
-
feck it, i think your right i used this diagram as it had the same kinda spring plate as i was using :(
-
ta! i didn't want it looking too tinkered with, but it did look too high as standard and kinda ruined the look of car
-
just looking at the pics i posted and they "did" clip into the bellows before we cut them down. or that could of been the rear i'm thinking of :? this is the rear fitted to car

this thread has got a bit dusty, and most pics seem to of gone now, think i have moved them. anyway an update, not sure where i got too, but here is the latest Suspension felt tired, a steering boot was split, top mounts were noisy so thought i'd get a few new bits and try fitting it all with a mate, (to be fair he did most of it) got some weitec suspension and rear ARB, i couldn't afford much more as i wanted to replace other stuff so had to comprimise for now also got new bumpstops, covers, lower ball joints, wishbones and bushes, track rods & ends, top mounts, all of which came at full price from VW as i had no other choice  got it all fitted over 2 days, and very pleased with the result ARB can't really get a pic
-
am off to recheck my diagram  the stop even had a rasied lip on the bottom that fitted/clicked into place on the top of the bellows? i'm not doubting you as i'm no expert at all

Scirocco storms? worth much/rare? UPDATE pg3
Jim Bowen replied to Jim Bowen's topic in General Car Chat
yeah, i could see no mention on it of it being a storm, no badges, shame i couldn't see the front end, thats the best part of them. is also a mk1 golf there, but i didn't get to see that as its all wrapped up
