Corrado Dragster, not the 1.8T, a Chevy V8!
Jim Bowen replied to gsbellew's topic in General Car Chat
needs lowering  -
neat coolant  did you read the instructions?

the passenger window in my corrado stopped closing probably lastnight gets most of the way but it leaves a 1cm gap at the top, its doesn't seem lined up properly, i.e: it moves out from the car as it goes up and doesn't seem to be in the runner properly, so i have to get out and push on the window from outside to get it to sit flush, then it will close. do you think something needs replacing? or just adjusting? i not got a clue how to take it all apart, didn't really wanna mess around with the interior too much :(

when my light was doing this i check the header tank and was missing 90% of the water

Woohoo!!! Car looks fab now, am very happy with the result, can't see where the dog had mauled my bumper, i went to a petrol station after work and under the lights it looked amazing, definatley turned some head and made some people smile :D I would highly recommend Nath to anyone, top lad & great work. Looking forward to the interior after today :D

do they go loose (interior) handle and make a rattling noise when you shut door? my passenger one does this, but still works, am worried it may break soon -
Hi nath is not a problem if you return to finish it on friday. there is a workshop here, but it is in use daily, so not sure how easy it'll be you may have to move car about when needed, the guys leave at 4:30-5pm we also have some outdoor lights on stands that we could setup where ever needed, Indoor/outdoor etc Am just running off home now, so i'll probably speak to you tomorrow

so whats the general opinion on the ebay looms? is a couple of different types

Your gonna need a steady supply of lenses then ! (i think the general concensus is that they cant take the heat for long periods ) Long periods? how long is long? generally you only get to use full-main beam for short bursts anyway, before an oncoming car appears and you have to switch down.... on these short periods have people found the lenses to get damaged from heat? seems strange a light unit cant stand up to the heat ?? sounds very odd to me, i've not had any problems using my lights on long journeys, i've left my fogs on for ages too. am sure they would test the maximum heat given off when making a car and design lights to cope

He is coming tomorrow i think, i've asked him to do the whole option 2 treatment he offers as well now. So i'll see how it comes out, am sure it will look good

i've always thought tyres pressures should be the same no matter what the tyre size, as it the same car, same weight being put on tyres, it may be less air but at the same pressure. i'm not 100% on that, but is what i believe to be true

i read the manual and the stickers and thats what i saw, i'll double check tonight tho
-
i have my standards at 36 front, 32.5 rear

i was told mine have all been replaced for infinitys ones, but still sounds crap to me, very rattly, i think it may be the car that rattles :(

Think your so clever Kevhaywire..... try fitting this in!
Jim Bowen replied to jedi-knight83's topic in Engine Bay
not sure tbh, he only really uses it when he is going to visit people/clients etc, sits at his house most of the time. was a couple of astons here the other day, as the boss had three paint blokes from aston come here to check out his paintwork (this was same day that dog ate my car) -

awesome, thats what the boss has, not driven in it yet, he only let me sit in it and start it up. they bring a whole new meaning to the saying "a nice car" -
they were over £50 for the motor when i last looked
-
a bit shocking at first, but the more i look at them the more i like them, they actually suit the lines and shapes of the corrado
-
mine did exactly that, was only when wipers were touching the screen the motor wouldn't turn. i put it down to my motor, but bought new motor and all the linkages and it fixed it, not sure if that much help  am 99% sure it was the motor as all the linkages were fine and there wasn't any reason for them to get stuck to get mine out i just undid the nuts and bits at base of wipers (large ones), then the obvious nut and bracket near motor and it just comes out with a bit of wiggling in the right places

the dog is locked away now in a pen  i used to play with the dog (throwing stuff, not like a dirty old man) all the time, he's a lovely dog, just fcuking stupid
