  1. There are two types of plate, early and late style. Later cars are a smaller diameter and quite a few aftermarket springs are designed for early cars. Top mounts are also different.
  2. I have wrapped electrical tape around some switches, then just push them into the hole

    Cheapy ISV

I got one a few months back, fixed my ISV problem and seems to work fine. VW one will probably just be some rebranded chinese stuff anyway
  4. Should put the whole lot on fuel and not have the road tax
  5. Signed and posted to facebook, 40yrs is a joke, most people won't even drive a 10yr old car these days
  6. Its only that little bit that snaps (door handle repair kit), that moves anything. I used flexistrip to stick my liners on, not sure its the proper thing to use but worked for me.
  7. Think there is some wiring to unplug, but normally do tat once handle is out, i find turning the whole handle upwards 90degrees helps.
  8. I've always bought the 205s. Tempted to try the 195. Is there any noticeable difference on the road. 10mm is quite a bit really. I wonder if the thinner tyre might be better on the terrible roads i use.

    Lock Set

You can re-tumble the locks to suit the ignition key, am sure there is a guide somewhere.
  11. Probably fitted it wrong by accident. Quite easy to do.

    Wow!

Was a chap on ebay, not far from me selling wheels i wanted, i only needed two, he had them up for £75 each, they were the golf vr6 bbs rims so nothing great, plus they needed a refurb, I phoned him up (was about 3-4yrs ago) and asked what would he accept for two and i'd collect. £150 he said, i laughed a bit and made an offer, he wouldn't budge, in the end i got a set of 4 off here for £50. 4yrs later and the guy is still trying to sell them at £75 each

    Wow!

    Messaged him about it
  14. I've not really done much since posting the question, hardly using the car at the moment. The only things that aren't new are: -FPR -Fuel pump -ECU -MAF I'm actually struggling to think of anything else  I did fit the non-return valve into the fuel line (car already had one, but i made new fuel lines up so reused it)
  15. I'd say it was ignition switch, noticed my clocks resetting when mine was on the way out.
  16. What do you mean by engine will not do anything. If there is fuel and spark. Does it just keep on turning over?
  17. Mine seems to run as soon as you turn ignition on (engine not running). Not sure if its running with engine running or not but i can check that. Then when car is over a certain water temp it will run when you turn engine and igntition off, but fans will run at the same time until temp goes down. What about the temp sender on the side of radiator, i know that can cause issues if sending wrong temp to FCM.
  18. yeah, about 4 weeks, have ordered a couple of times from Germany.
  19. You are right. It only comes on when you turn ignition off if the car is hot. Mine comes on at the same time as the fans but only if it rather hot. Not that much when driven normally and shut off.
  20. Love the paint btw, going to be my new favourite corrado when its done.
  21. What about Techtonics tuning in USA for exhaust, they do 20% during black friday (a bit late now though)
