The dash gauge is a bit of an iffy reading, replaced all of my cooling system and still the gauge reads low, you can check the actual temp the ECU is getting with VCDS software (i've got that if you haven't, could check yours if you are popping over to collect the switch)

Have you tried wearing clogs? Can help with a heavy clutch.

They do sell a blank plug, i took the sensor out when removing aircon and cut the wire off.

Good news. Nice one. Don't forget the o-ring that fits into the cover. For the tensioner bolt. Didn't see it in your last pic. -

Alternators [Terry Tibbs on] Talk to me [Terry tibbs off]
Jim Bowen replied to corrado wannabe's topic in Engine Bay
I googled a local auto electrical shop and just went in there with an old alternator, they ordered me a bosch one (i had to wait a big as it came from Germany) Cost something like £260. -
I use Mann Oil filters as well, been finding lately alot of the dealer stuff is now 3rd party made and just VW branded MT90 is what everyone seems to recommend for the gearbox oil

I bought a new fan from eurocarparts, wasn't too expensive, £30-40. I had tried to strip my old one and broke it

Am quite local (nr Dunmow) and have 2 or 3 new headlights switches, wouldn't mind if you wanted to try one (be careful as they do burn out if they much up)
-
Yeah i found that a lot when doing mine. Especially with brackets. I had bought spares and refurbished them and then wrapped things up and put them away. Then dismantling the car i was refurbishing the parts that came off. Then at the end found all the other parts  Seem to have a few coilpacks, isvs, alternators etc lost track of what is good or not.

Probably want to take out the speedo etc to see whats what, but might be easier to access it from the bottom near fusebox.
-
Think this is the two parts, you can see the switch poking through on the right.
-
I do remember the spoiler module and the immob being right next to each other in the dash, wonder if a wire has come loose or the earth isn't well.
-
Are you fitting all the bolts loosely to begin with?
-
What way does it seem bent?
-
Bare in mind that cover is meant to be skimmed with the head. Might not matter too much though.

I know a guy on another forum that does a lot of trimming, not used him yet but thinking of getting a spare wheel done. Loads of his work in this thread http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=643957 Some of his later stuff is more impressive.

Leather Recaros and standard VR6 wheel

I had the same problem when i fitted an uprated loom, no sidelights, didn't bother me until mot time, i had to remove the loom, tried two different ones as well.

Clutch fork problem gets worse quite quickly i found. Clutch would bite almost on the floor and be quite abrupt. Plus it was hard to get in gear. Does pumping the pedal a few times change the feel at all? That might help tell if it needs bleeding.
-
It can also be a sign of the clutch fork bending, i've had it happen twice now.
-
I just fitted those to mine. They are ok, but i'm not overly impressed and feel i could of achieved the same with speakers costing half that. Really need some larger rear speakers, (i might go back to fitting some 6x9's)
-
Perfect, will give this a go, thanks for that :)
